“The sound is like thunder, the unawakened” refers to the great beings in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.
Their teaching sounds like thunder, capable of awakening those who are unaware, such as ordinary people,
indicating that the great beings' teachings are powerful and resonant, capable of stirring the hearts and actions of beings,
and enabling the manifestation of their awareness.
“The Dharma sound is like thunder, awakening the unawakened” means that their teaching is flexible and unrestricted, tailored to the capacity of the listener.
Because the great beings are already selfless and without ego, they can perceive the root capacity of others and teach according to their needs;
they are those who teach well and awaken the unawakened.
Such conduct can also be seen in the great beings and Bodhisattvas of the Western Land as they care for and teach the lesser Bodhisattvas.
In The Infinite Sutra (The Buddha Speaks the , Infinite Life, Adornment, Purity, Impartiality, and Sutra),
it is clearly pointed out that the various practices and true merits of the great beings of the Western Land are so vast,
that even if one were to speak of them for hundreds of thousands of millions of kalpas, they could not be exhausted.
To become a Buddha is to be one who has perfected self-awakening, the awakening of others, and the practice of awakening.
If a Bodhisattva can, amidst the Dharma sound like thunder awakening the unawakened, enable beings to awaken,
this is also the provision for a Bodhisattva to become a Buddha,
enabling the elevation of their spirits, moving towards the Buddha's path, and advancing their lotus grade and spiritual achievements to a higher level.
If the Bodhisattvas in the world can, according to The Infinite Sutra (The Buddha Speaks the Mahayana, Infinite Life, Adornment, Purity, Impartiality, and Enlightenment Sutra),
believe in and follow the Bodhisattva practices and their true merits, they will be able to achieve magnificent spiritual achievements.
In the worldly realm and the world, because beings in this age of the Dharma’s decline have heavy ,
those who can follow the teachings, if they still have self, ego-attachment, self-views, or selfishness,
may find it difficult to continue practising the teachings in the sutras,
or may find it difficult to continue due to various factors such as interference from or karmic beings,
resulting in a stagnation of spiritual achievements, difficulty in making progress, or regression in practice.
This is a common occurrence, but I hope to raise it here so that those who see and hear this may be vigilant,
persevere, increase their own spiritual achievements,
and also help the karmic creditors within themselves to grow alongside them, breaking through delusion and attaining enlightenment.
This is the worldly conduct of a Bodhisattva.
