Midnight refers to the deep night. Waking up from a dream in the deep night is an experience most people have had.
If you wake up and then enter into a dream again, this waking is not true waking, but a dream within a dream.
For those with a physical body, amidst the common daily routine of the masses,
at the time of night sleep, you set aside the world of external interactions of Body, Speech, and Mind,
and enter the time for this body and its internal organs to rest and recuperate.
It is the time for the whole body to rest after a day's work,
and the state of the spirit at this time enters another stage.
If the true self can be the master, at this time rests, and if the true self can be at peace, then the body is also at peace;
if the true self can raise awareness to chant Buddha's name, this is the skill of practice,
and it is also an excellent method for self-purification for those who have achieved success in purification.
Generally, people's spirits will be pulled into space by during night sleep.
When in deep sleep or in a dream, it is the time of entering space, which is like the situation of being drowsy and entering space.
If one is drowsy and cannot be called awake, it means one has entered a deep space.
Where there is a thought, there is space produced. Therefore, the space entered at night is often the space of thoughts from the day. Hence the saying, "What one thinks about during the day, one dreams about at night."
This is the situation of the spirit entering space during normal night sleep.
The more pure the heart, the fewer karmic creditors and attached spirits, and the more awareness one has,
the less the situation of being drowsy and entering space occurs;
the more defiled one is, the more numerous the karmic creditors and attached spirits, and the less awareness one has,
then the situation of being drowsy and entering space becomes more obvious.
There is another situation: when a practitioner is subject to interference from demon crowds, it is also easy to have the situation of being drowsy and entering space.
Therefore, with the two powers of the , using arises through diligent practice, and obtaining Buddha's ,
one can face and break through the areas where self-power cannot reach.
Those who practise with this false body and reach are also those who wake from a midnight dream.
