Teachings by Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju:
The Heart-Chaser’s heart is lost and adrift.
This heart is ever-changing, shifting with circumstances and turning with conditions.
This heart is unsettled, constantly fluctuating—
at times calm, at times revealing a smile or showing an angry expression.
Who am I? When will my heart be settled?
The Heart-Chaser is lost, with nothing to rely upon.
The one with a settled heart is at peace,
knowing what to do and where to go, not swayed by external conditions but able to transform them.
They act when they should and stop when they should not.
Through daily diligent practice, they cultivate their meditative concentration, eventually attaining wisdom.
The one with a settled heart understands what to do in the present moment and where they are heading.
Furthermore, they softly recite "Namo Amituofo" at all times;
when walking, every step is "Namo Amituofo."
The Heart-Chaser, seeing the heart and actions of the one with a settled heart, stays by their side,
and their own heart gradually becomes settled.
Although there are still fluctuations and moments of instability, it is much calmer than before.
The Heart-Chaser decides to learn from the one with a settled heart,
learning how to let the heart become settled and knowing where to go.
The one with a settled heart says to the Heart-Chaser:
Seeing people suffer from aging, sickness, and death, and hoping to help those who suffer to be released from their suffering,
which is also helping oneself to be released from suffering, one finds the precious method,
which is to single-mindedly recite "Namo Amituofo" and recover one's true self to become a Buddha;
this is the only way to thoroughly release and leave suffering behind.
This is not only helping everyone, but also helping oneself to release and leave suffering behind.
And now, the one with a settled heart, because of single-mindedly reciting "Namo Amituofo,"
and practising according to the Infinite Life Sutra (The Buddha Speaks the , Infinite Life, Adornment, Purity, Impartiality, and Sutra),
follows the teachings and has realised their true nature and attained Buddhahood.
At the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia—
the place where Namo Amituofo abides,
the one with a settled heart,
is Practitioner Su, who now follows Namo Amituofo to save all boundless suffering sentient beings.
The Heart-Chaser has joined the fourfold assembly.
