Ng Yiu-tung:
, I am Ng Yiu-tung.
The suffering of hell is truly unimaginable to those who have not experienced it. After death, my spirit entered the heart-gouging hell, where I was subjected to the torture of having my heart gouged out, a pain that pierced my soul. It felt like a reminder of the mistakes I had committed, yet I had no way of knowing what exactly I had done wrong. That feeling of intense, bitter suffering left me wondering when I would ever be able to escape from hell.
After more than a year, I finally arrived in the Western Land of Nature at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, within a golden light. In this pure and bright world, I took deep breaths of the lotus fragrance in the air and enjoyed the music of the Holy Name "Namo Amituofo" that played incessantly in my ears, feeling as though I had been reborn.
I truly wish that everyone I care about, and indeed all people in the world, could come to this wonderful place just as I have. Here, there is no fighting or competition, no comparison between people, and no need to work to earn money to sustain . Every spirit in the Western Land of Dharma Nature seems to possess inexhaustible energy, which comes from the golden Buddha-light that shines continuously within this land. I heard that this is the golden light emitted by Amitabha Buddha, and also the golden light emitted from the heart of Practitioner Su, which made me wonder: could it be that Amitabha Buddha and Practitioner Su are actually one, not two?
In the Western Land of Dharma Nature, listening to the Dharma, I finally understood that there is a standard in the world called the "Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way," which is what we call the Truth. The Truth is not complicated; it is simply about thoroughly letting go of this body. When one is truly no longer selfish and thinks only of helping sentient beings, reaching a state of pure goodness, one is in sync with the Truth.
If a person can walk on the path of the Truth, their life will be very smooth. Because the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way are entirely pure and good, without a trace of negativity, containing only and goodness. All of this is in sync with the kind nature that everyone possesses at birth. It is precisely for this reason that if a person can follow the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, they can allow their inherent kind power to naturally grow and manifest.
This provides tremendous protection for one's spirit. If a person's spirit is protected by this power of goodness, it can naturally resist many invasions and interference from the spiritual realms, including:
Under the protection of the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, one can keep one's spirit in a sound state. Only when the spirit within a person is complete can life be fulfilled. The value of life has always been to come to this world, to use everything that is temporary in this world (including this short-lived body) to "use this temporary body to find the eternal truth" and to find one's true self.
When one can truly see the Buddha-nature within one's heart, that is the moment of realising one's true nature and attaining Buddhahood. It turns out that for a human life to be fulfilled, one should realise one's true nature and attain Buddhahood. Not only should one realise one's own true nature, but one should also allow the countless karmic creditors and the spirits of the cells within the body to realise their true nature and attain Buddhahood together. If this magnificent task can be accomplished, then life can be called truly fulfilled.
Conversely, if a person's spirit is no longer complete, then there is no possibility of fulfilment on the path of life. One can only let one's body eventually become a puppet for karmic creditors or demon crowds. How much of one's life is truly under one's own control, and how much is manipulated by other spirits? If the Buddha did not reveal this to us, there would truly be no way to find the answer.
The truth of life and the universe is revealed through the Buddhist education at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. Whether it is the teachings of Amitabha Buddha, the teachings of Teacher Xia Lianju, or the lectures given by Practitioner Su, and even the spiritual interviews conducted by the temple's monastics, all are helping people in the world and spirits to understand: everything in reincarnation is an illusion; nothing is truly real. Everything is just the operation of , proceeding blindly through predetermined changes.
When one gets sick, when one dies, when one meets one's partner in life, and when one reaches a turning point in one's career—all the opportunities in a person's life were actually predetermined at birth. The laws of karma and cause and effect are truly inconceivable. If one had not heard of or encountered the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, how could one understand the many subtle details of these laws of karma?
It turns out that every thought a person has in this world has quietly created karma. Whether it is good karma or negative karma, it never escapes reincarnation. If one can hold tightly to the Holy Name "Namo Amituofo," one will have the opportunity to break free from the shackles of reincarnation and be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
Amitabha Buddha came to this world to help people have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of not grow old, not get sick, and the spirit does not die. Such magnificent benefits of the Buddha's teachings indeed require the help and guidance of a good teacher, but more importantly, one must have a heart that is willing to help sentient beings, which is the "Ultimate Vow" to save the world and deliver sentient beings.
This great vow first saves the countless cells, spirits, and karmic creditors within one's own body. If, as a human, one forgets the compassionate appearance one should have, it will be very difficult to pass through this life safely. Because one has owed too many debts and harmed too many people in the past, when these countless vengeful spirits awaken to seek revenge, if there is no compassion in one's heart—if one cannot see the suffering of sentient beings, nor one's own suffering—then how can one awaken and embark on the path of practice?
Practice might seem unfamiliar to many, but it is a necessary process in everyone's life. Only by learning the Buddha's teachings and practising can one have the opportunity to:
Some people in this lifetime have sufficient good roots, , and causal conditions. Even if they have never been exposed to the Buddha's teachings or do not understand the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, they can now, through the opportunity of Amitabha Buddha descending to reside at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, have their spirits saved and led by Amitabha Buddha and Practitioner Su to the Western Land of Dharma Nature at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre after death, and be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss in the future. Such a situation is indeed unprecedented and unheard of, but everything is proceeding according to the laws of karma and cause and effect. The laws of karma never treat any sentient being with special favour or injustice.
It may seem that one has never practised in this life and has even committed sins, yet one can be lucky enough to be reborn after death. This is never obtained out of thin air, but because one has diligently practised on the path of the Buddha in past lives, or has chanted the Holy Name "Namo Amituofo"—this of contains inconceivable merits. This is something I only understood after arriving at the Western Land of Dharma Nature at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre.
Why does Practitioner Su at the temple continue to lead the salvation team to actively carry out the work of saving the world? It is because he hopes that more people will come to know Amitabha Buddha and the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, and thus be able to connect with Amitabha Buddha. When the connection is made, people will suddenly discover that the path the Buddha walks is so close to the expectations in their own hearts, and that the Buddha's compassionate and good deeds are so familiar.
How can people come to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia to see the Buddha? The condition required is actually that moment of heart-to-heart connection. When one's heart connects with Amitabha Buddha in an instant, that sincere heart of repentance, that heart of goodness that truly wishes to change, to stop making mistakes, and to stop creating negative karma, will allow everyone the opportunity to come to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre to meet Amitabha Buddha.
Seeing the Buddha is truly difficult to encounter in millions of years and is not easy at all. Now that the Buddha has come to this world and resides at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, very few people in the world can truly meet Amitabha Buddha. This tests everyone's sincerity—the sincerity towards the Truth and the Right Way, and the sincerity towards oneself and Amitabha Buddha. Only a single thought of true repentance and goodness can fulfil the causal conditions to meet Amitabha Buddha in this lifetime.
Practitioner Su deeply knows the magnificence of the Holy Name "Namo Amituofo," because Practitioner Su became a Buddha by chanting this Holy Name "Namo Amituofo." Practitioner Su also knows that as long as countless spirits can hear this Holy Name "Namo Amituofo," it can give them the opportunity to be saved; this is the inconceivable nature of the Vajra Seed.
Therefore, Practitioner Su has been actively promoting the installation of Amitabha Buddha billboards around the world. Although this billboard is just a small board, it contains the Buddha image, the Buddha-light pattern, and the precious Holy Name "Namo Amituofo." The purpose is to hope that countless people, upon seeing the billboard, can plant this magnificent Vajra Seed in their . No matter how many eons or lifetimes pass, it will not be erased. As long as one can chant this Holy Name and encounter this Holy Name "Namo Amituofo," one will have the opportunity to be saved by Amitabha Buddha at some point in the future.
The Amitabha Buddha billboard can emit tremendous golden light. Although humans cannot see it, in the spiritual realms, many spirits are very happy to see the golden light and thus enter the golden light to be saved. There are even a large number of ghosts who, upon seeing the golden light of the billboard, come to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia seeking . The number of spirits is so great that sometimes the area around the temple is filled with thick white mist. After asking, I learned that they are all ghosts from all over the world who came to seek help after seeing the billboard.
If I had not seen it with my own eyes, I would not have known that there are so many spirits in the world who are lost and have no stable place to go. They are actually suffering greatly, so after seeing the billboard, they come to the temple without delay to seek help. Practitioner Su is very compassionate and has taken them all into the "Western Land of Dharma Nature" of the temple.
This Buddha-land, established by Practitioner Su after attaining Buddhahood, is truly vast and boundless. No amount of words can describe the magnificence and inconceivability of the Western Land of Dharma Nature. I can only say that because of the existence of the Western Land of Dharma Nature, countless suffering spirits in the world have gained the opportunity to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. After entering the Land of Dharma Nature, they can listen to the lectures on the lotus seat and elevate their spirits; when the causal conditions are sufficient, they can be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss with the help of Practitioner Su. This is the reason why Practitioner Su established the Western Land of Dharma Nature, hoping to allow countless spirits whose good roots, blessings, and causal conditions have not yet matured to be reborn in this special and ingenious way. The Western Land of Dharma Nature is indeed a transit station for rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
This good news is what I, Ng Yiu-tung, want to specifically point out to all those who have the karmic affinity. I hope that everyone will cherish Practitioner Su, the only living Buddha in the human world. This is not idol worship or superstition, but a hope to remind everyone in the world: we actually all have the opportunity, like Practitioner Su, to realise our true nature and attain Buddhahood in this lifetime, and to find our true selves.
Everyone should understand that we are all originally a Buddha and have the potential to become a Buddha. As long as one can believe in the Buddha, chant the Buddha's name, and make a vow to become a Buddha, why worry about not being able to find the Tathagata within one's own heart? This is the demonstration that Practitioner Su has made for us.
The world has the opportunity to be saved because of the compassionate vows and deeds of Practitioner Su. Because Practitioner Su is of one heart, one vow, and one practice with the Buddha, he has attracted Amitabha Buddha from the spiritual realms to reside at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. This is a magnificent causal condition that is difficult to encounter in millions of years. Those who truly understand will definitely come to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre to seek the Dharma immediately. Because this is the first time the Buddha has descended to the human world, hoping to bring the magnificent benefits of "not grow old, not get sick, and the spirit does not die" to the world, and to help countless children who find it difficult to return to the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss to return to their original home of self-nature in this lifetime.
That is the perfect world established by Amitabha Buddha, beautiful, dignified, and free from suffering. Everyone's future should be to be reborn in the Western Pure Land, and the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is actually a Buddha-land adorned by the merits of self-nature. All the beauty of the West is also telling all the residents of the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss: the true appearance of one's own heart is actually as dignified as the various magnificent merits of the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
Why do people get sick? It is actually because one's own heart has become sick, which leads to various abnormalities in the body, mind, and spirit.
The power of the heart is so great that it can help our bodies and make our bodies better. If one truly knows how to make good use of one's heart, it will actually be of great help to one's body, mind, and spirit.
Why do we learn the Buddha's teachings? In truth, it is to learn how to become the master of your own heart. The essence of Buddhist practice lies in self-regulation and learning how to use this heart of yours. People in the world always use their hearts to protect themselves, to safeguard their own interests, or perhaps to help themselves and their families secure more material stability. After learning the Buddha's teachings, the way you use your heart changes significantly. You must use this heart to help sentient beings and to save the world from suffering; more importantly, you must use this heart to chant the Holy Name "Namo Amituofo".
Ultimately, the difference between yourself and a Buddha lies only in whether you possess a true vow to save the world and deliver sentient beings. The study of the Buddha's teachings is actually very simple: it is merely for everyone to make a vow to save the world and deliver sentient beings, to vow to help the suffering beings of this world, and to chant the Holy Name "Namo Amituofo".
However, being able to undertake such a Great Dharma truly tests the aptitude of every individual. This aptitude refers to one's faith in Namo Amituofo and one's faith in the Holy Name "Namo Amituofo". If you truly believe that Namo Amituofo can help you leave suffering and gain happiness, and truly believe that chanting this Holy Name can help sentient beings leave suffering, then you will have the ability to unleash the power of this Holy Name to its fullest extent.
In terms of the Buddha's teachings, the Buddha-nature within every person is equal; everyone possesses the same wisdom and virtues as the Buddha. However, each person's aptitude on the path of practice is indeed different.
This "aptitude" actually refers to one's faith in Namo Amituofo, faith in this Holy Name, and likewise, faith in the Buddha-nature within one's own heart. A person who possesses one hundred percent faith can be called a person of great talent on the path of practice.
Practitioner Su is such a person of great talent. After encountering the Pure Land Dharma Gate, he was able to truly and wholeheartedly believe in the Buddha and believe in the Infinite Life Sutra (The Buddha Speaks the , Infinite Life, Adornment, Purity, Impartiality, and Enlightenment Sutra). One "Namo Amituofo" and one Infinite Life Sutra are the non-dual Dharma Gate to realise one's true nature and attain Buddhahood. Such a Dharma Gate is truly something everyone should learn. This is because this Holy Name and this Infinite Life Sutra represent the universal principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. There is never any superstition in the Buddha's teachings; it is entirely a hope to use education to help everyone correct their own erroneous mental notes and behaviours.
If everyone can believe in this Holy Name and believe in this Infinite Life Sutra, then naturally, you are educating your own heart, as well as the hearts of the countless sentient beings within your cells. This education of the heart is what I, Wu Yaodong, have come to understand about the Buddha's teachings while in the Western Land of Dharma Nature.
In truth, every single chant of the Holy Name, and even every recitation of the Sutras, allows both yourself and the countless sentient beings within your body to receive the teachings of the Truth. When both you and the sentient beings within you can maturely chant the Holy Name "Namo Amituofo" together, and when you can all be in sync with the Truth, that is the moment you attain Buddhahood together.
After Practitioner Su attained Buddhahood, he used his countless manifestations to travel throughout mainland China and Hong Kong to perform great Chao Du, saving countless suffering spirits in China and delivering countless demon crowds in China.
Interference from the spiritual realms toward the human world is frequent and severe. If the people in mainland China and Hong Kong did not have the Buddhist education from the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, it would truly be difficult to hold this line of defence between themselves and the countless sentient beings. This is because this line of defence is the universal principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.
When you forget that you should follow the Truth, a deviation in a mental note or an incorrect behaviour—as long as there is even a trace of selfishness in your heart, or if you are still clinging to this "self"—actually causes your soul to lose its command. This creates an opportunity for you to be kicked out of your body by the karmic creditors within you, or to be kicked out by demon crowds.
How many people in this world have a complete soul within their bodies? In the Land of Dharma Nature, I clearly see that no one's soul is in a complete state. Of course, one could say that everyone's soul was complete when they were children. But why is it that in the process of growing up, we slowly lose parts of our soul?
It is actually because of a lack of education and the absence of correct guidance. When a child cannot understand that there is only one path to take upon coming into this world—the path of "delivering sentient beings"—and no second path, it causes the child to slowly lose sovereignty over their own body.
I, Wu Yaodong, hope so much that everyone can become the true master of their own body. Now that Namo Amituofo has come to this world, it is actually to help everyone truly become the master. If you can be the master, how could a human body suffer?
Being the master is not difficult; it is just a matter of recalling in the present moment that you are a Buddha, a Buddha who has come to this world to help sentient beings. As long as you can accept and believe this in the present moment, then you have the possibility of being the master.
Rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is a major event. Otherwise, how much longer must your soul suffer in reincarnation? A single incorrect mental note can potentially cause you to create the causes for entering the hells.
Now, while Namo Amituofo has come to this world, everyone should seize this rare and difficult-to-encounter opportunity and quickly come to seek guidance from Namo Amituofo. Whether it is various confusions in your heart or numerous abnormalities in your body and mind, the Buddha can answer them all. All problems actually stem from the fact that they cannot be resolved at the level of the spirit.
Now, the Great Teacher of the spiritual realms, Namo Amituofo, and the awakened being in the human world, Practitioner Su, have both come to this world to help everyone truly resolve all problems from the level of the spirit. Whether it is aging, illness, death, or the suffering in your heart and the pain in your body, all are due to the karmic creditors or sentient beings within you, who are suffering and in more pain than we are.
Inviting spirits to enter the Western Land of Dharma Nature is truly a magnificent method of treating the root cause. If Namo Amituofo had not come to this world, and if Practitioner Su had not accumulated immeasurable and boundless merits through day and night of Chao Du, how could this inconceivable event be realised?
I hope everyone can quickly join Namo Amituofo's salvation team to save sentient beings, which is also saving yourself. A person's life should not be full of suffering; it should be like Practitioner Su's—filled with Dharma , free and unhindered. Such a liberated and free life is something everyone can possess. As long as you are willing to be a Buddha who has come to this world to help sentient beings, naturally, all pain and suffering will be resolved.
I am grateful to Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su for saving me. I hope to meet the people of China in the West in the future.
