Teacher's Teachings. Recorded and transcribed by ’s disciple, Venerable HaiZe. 10 May 2026. Teachings by Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju: The human world is one of the six realms of rebirth for beings governed by . Spending a lifetime in this , most people are controlled by their karma. Unconsciously, their words, actions, and thoughts all follow the dictates of karma. Those who fail to see this truth live a life of birth, aging, sickness, death, ups and downs, and sorrow, and impermanence. [[BLOCK_0]] Those who understand the truth of this reality can comprehend the suffering of beings who are not masters of their own fate because everything is controlled by karma. Seeing the suffering of beings, one knows not to fall into this trap, so that one may leave suffering behind. Even if most people hear this, they do not understand it, and when they encounter it, they continue to suffer. This is because, in many moments, they cannot be the master, and instead, the karma within their bodies and their are the masters; thus, suffering is inevitable. [[BLOCK_1]] Therefore, the practice at Hsiang Kuang provides a path of light. On this path, one can at any time encounter the guidance of Buddha or , ancestral masters, or awakened beings, pointing out one's blind spots, so that one may avoid and stop suffering, and realise one's true nature early. [[BLOCK_2]] Walking the path of life, growing up in the environment of the world, having experienced many trials of human life, those who have gained some insight into life, once they enter into practice, removing various obstacles and interference, through pure practice, recognising the "true and false, the real and the illusory," they can cherish this human body, engage in True Cultivation, and seek back their precious true self. In the true self, there is no suffering but only joy, and one clearly understands all that is done and encountered. [[BLOCK_3]] In this world of illusory Causal Conditions and the people and things encountered in practice, do not have a "self," do not have attachment, do not hold on tightly; it is suffering! practitioners can mostly understand this, but often when a situation manifests, they follow the situation and drift away; in this way, they are walking the path backwards again. In this cycle of advancing and retreating, is there enough life to be wasted like this? Is it possible to regain the true self in this lifetime? This is a perilous matter. Throughout many lives in the past, one may have also practised at that time, but life ended before the true self was regained; it is a pity that the practice at that time only established a affinity with the Buddha’s teachings. In the next life, the practice must start all over again. [[BLOCK_4]] Days of living freely and spontaneously are what many practitioners yearn for. In the state of having no seeking, there is naturally a free and spontaneous ease. Living freely and spontaneously does not mean seeking outwards, but seeking inwards within the true self. [[BLOCK_5]] Beings inherently possess the true self, but now they have lost their way, and the true self is covered and cannot manifest. Students of Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre, in this pure environment, if you can make good use of this magnificent Dharma affinity, and demand of yourself diligent practice, the greatest help is being able to regain the true self. [[BLOCK_6]] At Hsiang Kuang, one can encounter a true awakened being, and that is Practitioner Su. Therefore, students of Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre have a great advantage and can also achieve such an attainment. Namo Amituofo [[BLOCK_7]]
