Namo Amituofo's discourse:

Buddha’s teachings are the analysis of the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.

Practice is the adjustment of one's current hearts and actions to be in sync with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.

If one is in sync, it is righteous, and there is progress in practice; if one is not in sync, it is deviant, and there is regression in practice.

Righteousness is being in sync with the true self; deviance is being far from the true self.

Between righteousness and deviance, adjust until they align.

Let go of what is biased and start from the areas that weigh heavily upon you.

Practice is to rediscover the true self; it is for self-awakening.

After self-awakening, one awakens others.

Helping beings to awaken, so that they too may awaken, is self-awakening and awakening others.

Transform from within, change personality traits; if one can change, one is a person who transforms with a sincere heart.

One who transforms with a sincere heart inherently possesses the true self.

In being in sync with the true self, one can understand what should be done and what should be let go of.

This heart inherently possesses sensitive awareness; if it is covered by dust, this sensitive awareness is difficult to manifest.

What is dust?

Afflictions are dust; the Five Poisons and Five Desires are dust.

The "self" is dust.

Selfish and self-interested hearts and actions are dust.

Self-protection is dust; emotional entanglements are dust, eroding the human heart.

Delusions, discriminations, and attachment are dust.

All these dusts stain the heart, making it difficult for the heart to be pure!

Let go of dust and let go of views to attain clarity; one can purify one's own mind, naturally not being in sync with dust, and moving further and further away from it.

Dust is the accumulated habits from accumulated lifetimes; it is often difficult to remove completely by one's own power.

Because these habits have been accumulated for a long time, by adding faith in the Buddha, the two powers of the Pure Land manifest together.

Under the Buddha's blessings, it can be wiped away gently.

This is the inconceivable nature of the Buddha's blessings.

Transform from the heart; at the moment of transformation, dust is removed, and this body becomes pure.

One must also let go of external temptations and preferences, such as interests and hobbies.

Transform from within, initiate self-power, and with the Buddha's blessings, everything transforms into Goodness and improves.

This is what one must do for Awakening.
