Teachings by Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju:
"Flying" is a state of being.
The flying celestial maidens of the Dunhuang Grottoes make the world marvel at such dignified and divine appearances.
"Flying" is a state of being, while a flying celestial maiden is a role or identity,
And who can possess the state of "flying"?
If a spirit without a body has heavy sins and , its spirit will naturally fall into the animal realm,
the hell realm, or the hungry ghost realm;
If its spirit is pure, it will naturally fly upwards, like Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and celestial beings,
As for the height to which it can fly, it depends on the level of purity of its spirit,
It will naturally fly to the heavenly realm that corresponds to it.
The heavenly realms consist of twenty-eight levels,
The higher the level, the purer the spirit and the deeper the meditative concentration.
The highest level of the heavenly realms is the twenty-eighth level, a world of light,
where all celestial beings reside in a deep meditative state.
However, the celestial beings at that level still have a lifespan. Once their lifespan ends,
they must, according to their final thought or their previous good and negative karma, be reborn into the other five realms:
the asura realm, the human realm, the animal realm, the hungry ghost realm, or the hell realm.
If the level of purity of the spirit is only at that level,
unless the spirit can continue to practise and elevate, it will remain in that heavenly realm.
Generally, celestial beings have fewer opportunities to elevate their spirit,
because the heavenly realms are filled with enjoyment, free from afflictions and worries, and they lack a human body to practise.
Even if they are in a state of meditation or practice, the opportunities to elevate their spirit are limited,
and most spend their entire heavenly lifespan at that level.
Because the human realm has a body, one can elevate the spiritual quality through practice.
This is the importance of "use this temporary body to find the eternal truth."
This is why practice in the human realm is superior to that in the heavenly realms or the three lower realms.
Practice requires undergoing many tests and processes;
only by removing the turbid and evil pollutions from one's character can one recover one's pure self-nature.
"Flying" is a natural process, a natural phenomenon within nature,
and it is also the reality of Universal Principles, Truth, and the Right Path;
it is not something that can be arranged or guided by external forces.
At this time, at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia where Namo Amituofo abides,
when Practitioner Su’s and countless manifestations perform ,
their spirits advance rapidly in the posture of Divine Foot, leaping over the twenty-eight heavenly levels,
the Four Sacred Realms, entering the vast Milky Way, the universe, and the Realm.
Over the years, they have saved immeasurable and boundless beings and demon crowds.
From this, one can know that their spiritual state is extremely pure, without the slightest contamination,
which is why they possess this natural ability to pass through the high-level heavenly realms and enter the universe and the Dharma Realm.
The fourfold assembly is fortunate to encounter this time and have this precious opportunity to seek the Dharma and learn from Practitioner Su.
You should diligently grasp this opportunity to elevate your spirit again and again, to transcend again and again,
so as to recover your true self-nature, and follow the Buddha to save countless suffering beings.
