Interview in the Western Dharma-Nature Land—Liao Wan-lung (The Tungsten Steel King, owner of the world's third-largest tungsten steel factory)
Date recorded 22 June 2026
Liao Wan-lung was a legendary Taiwanese entrepreneur and a prominent figure in political and business circles, widely known as the "Tungsten Steel King." Starting from scratch in the 1970s to found CB Tungsten, he was the first "salmon" to lead large-scale investment and development in China, building it into one of the global leaders in the hard alloy industry. In 2010, he facilitated the merger of CB with the century-old German firm Ceratizit, further expanding into international markets. Beyond his tungsten business, Liao Wan-lung had a keen eye for real estate investment, owning vast amounts of land and commercial properties in prime and industrial areas across Taiwan. In terms of political and social participation, he served for a long time as a member of the Central Standing Committee of the Kuomintang and actively advocated for the rights and interests of Taiwanese businesses on both sides of the strait. He was an influential and iconic figure in cross-strait economic, political, and business circles.

A letter from Liao Wan-lung to Mr. Terry Gou:
Mr. Gou, I am Liao Wan-lung.
Mr. Gou, the affairs of the world are truly wondrous; I never imagined that after my passing, I would still have the opportunity to speak with you. We were friends with a certain degree of rapport throughout this lifetime, and I have always greatly admired your boldness and management philosophy.
Under your leadership, Foxconn has indeed seen remarkable development. As such a successful entrepreneur, your influence on Taiwan's economic development and social employment is indispensable.
Here, I would like to offer you a direct suggestion: I hope you will come to invest in the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. This temple is where Namo Amituofo abides, and it can bring the true benefits of not growing old, not getting sick, and the spirit never dying to people in this world, while helping everyone be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.
I imagine that as a successful entrepreneur, you must feel most helpless regarding the two matters of aging and illness. After all, you have weathered many storms and trials throughout your life, yet you have never known how to resist the threats of illness and aging. Now, I can clearly tell you, Mr. Gou, that the cure for not growing old and not getting sick is right here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia.
Namo Amituofo can truly bring the real benefits of the Buddha’s teachings to everyone, and the key lies in receiving Buddhist education. Now that the Buddha has come to this world, he is waiting for people to discover this precious land of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. This will inevitably cause a massive resonance and sensation; the hope for all humanity is right here—by coming to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, there is a chance to not get sick, not grow old, and even be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.
Such news is indeed shocking, yet it is true and real. I know you are a very pragmatic person; you are welcome to send people here to inspect the site, but remember to do so with a heart of absolute reverence. Because the Buddha is so compassionate toward all beings, we should reciprocate with equal reverence; this is a fundamental attitude.
As the saying goes, "True gold fears no fire." The true benefits of the Buddha’s teachings have already been personally attained by Practitioner Su at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. Now, it is just waiting for more people to receive such benefits like Practitioner Su, but this requires following the teachings of Namo Amituofo and putting them into practice.
Mr. Gou, even if a person lives a long life, it is at most a little over a hundred years; however, the life journey of the spirit after death is infinitely long.
After my death, my soul also went through many twists and turns before arriving at the pure, bright, and beautiful world where I am now—the "" at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. This is not an easy thing to achieve; many people are not as fortunate as I am.
I truly hope that you, Mr. Gou, can also receive the help of Namo Amituofo. But I do not wish for you to be like me, saved by Practitioner Su only after death, able to exert only my remaining strength; rather, I hope that while you are still alive, you can personally come to the temple to verify the great of "not growing old, not getting sick, and the spirit never dying."
Once you have personally attained these benefits, I hope you will stand up and take the lead in calling upon entrepreneurs in Taiwan and around the world to come together to Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, to seek the Dharma at this holy site of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. What you seek can be spiritual liberation or the healing of physical illnesses; but regardless, as long as you pray with sincerity, believe in the Buddha, and follow the Buddha’s guidance, all suffering can be resolved at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre.
This is because the abbot of this temple is the great teacher of the spiritual realms, Namo Amituofo. In fact, the root cause of all suffering in the world stems from the restlessness, agitation, dissatisfaction, and pain of the soul. All education in the world today ignores the spiritual dimension and cannot bring people ultimate benefits. Only the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre can truly reveal the mysteries of the human world and the spiritual realms to everyone, and unlock the truth of life and the universe.
Only such a temple can help resolve all the suffering in the world. Because resolution requires great cultivation and true , and even more so, the inconceivable Buddha’s of Namo Amituofo. Now, all these causal conditions are complete; Namo Amituofo of the spiritual realms and the awakened being Practitioner Su of the human world are gathered here at this precious land of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, waiting for everyone to come and recognise these two treasures of the vastness of the Dharma Realm. As for whether you can attain what you seek in your heart, it depends on your own karmic affinity.
Mr. Gou, I know you are a person of wisdom. Time is running out; life is marked by impermanence, and every day is a critical moment for rescue, and can also be a time of hope for rebirth. As long as you still have this body, the interference from the spirits in the spiritual realms to your body will be continuous.
At this moment, you should summon your boldness and take active steps to save the countless suffering spirits within your body. As long as you come to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, you can be saved, because Namo Amituofo can lead everyone to be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, and Practitioner Su’s Western Dharma-Nature Land can provide a beautiful and peaceful place for countless spirits. This is because Practitioner Su is performing for immeasurable and boundless spirits day and night, accumulating immeasurable and boundless merit; under the completion of various magnificent and rare causal conditions, the resolution of all suffering in the world has become a reality.
When you were running for president, Mr. Gou, I also stood up to support you strongly. This is because I knew that in your heart, Mr. Gou, there was always a kind heart thinking of the well-being of all the people in Taiwan, and this belief in goodness is very precious.
As your friend of many years, I know that "serving the country and the people" has always been your aspiration. And now, if you can lead everyone to recognise the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, the cause you can achieve will definitely not just be helping the people of Taiwan, but helping people in Taiwan, China, Japan, and even the whole world to be saved. I believe you have no reason not to participate in such a great cause.
In short, I am now waiting for you to come and see me at the Western Dharma-Nature Land at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. I hope you can come here to talk to me, and of course, more importantly, to meet the Buddha here. This will bring a earth-shattering change to your life, which will be a life-renewing and refreshing experience.
Liao Wan-lung:
Namo Amituofo, Namo Amituofo.
Now, I have slowly calmed down and am no longer being attacked by the feeling of severe heartache that once plagued my soul.
At this moment, I am at the Western Dharma-Nature Land at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, participating in this "" with the fourfold assembly of the temple. The ceremony is very magnificent and is led by , whose body encompasses the entire Dharma Realm; and the leader in the human world is my benefactor—the awakened being, Practitioner Su.
Watching Practitioner Su’s compassion and boldness, his compassionate vows and actions make me deeply admire him from the bottom of my heart. There are many people I have admired in my life, but I don’t think anyone can compare to Practitioner Su. This is not to say that I look down on others, but because compared to everyone I have known, including the top entrepreneurs, Practitioner Su is fundamentally different. The difference lies in the fact that Practitioner Su’s soul has already attained Buddhahood; he is a Buddha in the human world.
Regarding Buddhism, although I have had some contact with it, I did not understand it much and did not truly delve into the philosophy of the Dharma. I knew that the Buddha was a great existence, but I did not know that the Buddha was so compassionate that he would not hesitate to sacrifice his own body to save sentient beings; that he would not mind even if his own body suffered great pain just to let one more being be saved.
Such compassionate vows and actions deeply stirred me. Because I had never met a truly selfless person, I never knew that when a person has no "self" in their heart and only has sentient beings, they could be so moving. Because that is a power that is pure and good, without the slightest pollution, letting those who see and hear it know that this is an existence that should be revered.
On the Dharma-Nature Land, I clearly saw Practitioner Su using his spiritual body to manifest countless manifestations, with countless golden Practitioner Su clones emitting huge golden light, going to all parts of the world to perform Chao Du, including my hometown, Taiwan. I saw the entire Taiwan covered by Practitioner Su’s manifestations, turning into a golden ocean.
Have you ever seen a golden Taiwan? At this moment, what I see is a Taiwan completely surrounded by golden light. I see countless lonely wandering spirits, ghost deities, and many spirits in various spaces being saved by the Buddha-light.
I cannot describe the shock in my heart, because this is a scene I have never seen before. I never knew that a person could reach such a level through practice, and I never knew that there were so many spirits around us in our daily lives.
This indeed shocked me very much. In the past, I attached great importance to rituals, yet I never knew where the ghost realm beings were active, nor did I know where the ancestors or family members I worshipped had gone. But now, I clearly see that Taiwan is filled with all kinds of souls everywhere, and that the statement "all things have spirits" is true and real.
At this moment, on the Western Dharma-Nature Land, the Buddha-light is constantly shining on my soul, and I feel that I no longer have heartache. Compared to the state of fear and shock when I first arrived, I am now very peaceful and stable in my heart, enjoying the pure and bright magnetic field of the Western Dharma-Nature Land, and feeling very happy that I could come to this pure and bright beautiful world.
I am Liao Wan-lung, known to the world as the "Tungsten Steel King." During my lifetime, I could be said to be a very successful entrepreneur with abundant assets. Years ago, our group encountered an incident where data was stolen and internal personnel betrayed us, which once put the group in a crisis. Later, I was very grateful that after many twists and turns, we finally turned danger into safety. This experience also made me insist on the goal of the CB Tungsten Group "not going public."
Regarding not going public, I feel very proud in my heart. Those who do business know that compared to going public, which requires answering to multiple shareholders and potentially being intervened in company management by forces with large amounts of capital, and also requiring stricter regulations on capital utilisation.
Our group has very strong capital, and as a family member with absolute controlling interest, I can have very favourable and timely control over the entire group, and the capital movement is also very flexible. So many people think that if a company can have good revenue and performance without going public, it is actually not a bad thing, and I agree with this very much.
In this life, I am especially grateful to two people. One is former President Chiang Ching-kuo; if it weren't for his startup loans back then, there wouldn't be the world-renowned Tungsten Steel King, Liao Wan-lung. The other is former Premier Deng Xiaoping; he listened to my suggestion back then and opened up for the CB Tungsten Group to set up factories in mainland China, which led to our vigorous development on the other side.
For a businessman, different political stances are not the most important thing to me; I mainly focus on how to do business well. So from this perspective, I am very grateful to both leaders.
On the Dharma-Nature Land, a thought arose in my mind, and I realised that they were both saved by Practitioner Su just like me, and have now gone to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I never thought that these two people, who were once leaders of Taiwan and mainland China, had actually entered hell after death; such an encounter really makes me sigh with emotion.
Of course, I, Liao Wan-lung, am no better than them. After all, after I died, my soul also went to hell to be punished. At that time, after I died, a strong suction force suddenly pulled my soul into the "heart-gouging hell." In this hell, I suffered endless pain; my heart was gouged open again and again, and then restored again. In the process of repeating this, I had no other way but to wail.
For someone like me who has had contact with Buddhism, I have heard of the principles of cause and effect. As a successful entrepreneur, I have more or less realised the truth of during my business operations. I believe in the existence of intangible beings and the laws that govern the universe.
If a person does evil, I believe they will eventually face retribution; if they do good, they will eventually reap sweet fruits. Therefore, I have always believed that one should be able to take full responsibility for one's actions. This is a form of boldness and responsibility.
Only by facing one's mistakes with such an attitude and bearing the consequences can one refine better qualities amidst hardship and suffering, and perhaps find a glimmer of hope. This is a principle I have always firmly believed in.
While suffering in hell, I repented deeply in my heart, understanding that I must have done something wrong while alive to attract such retribution. I prayed constantly, hoping for a day to stand up again, hoping my spirit could find a glimmer of hope.
Just a few days ago, a massive golden light shone in the heart-gouging hell, illuminating my spirit. Under the Buddha’s light, I was instantly transported from the heart-gouging hell to the Dharma-Nature Land at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia.
When I first arrived, I was very afraid, not knowing what had happened. But under the blessings of the Buddha in the Dharma-Nature Land, a force allowed my wounds to slowly heal, and my heart became increasingly calm.
At this moment, I am very different from the past. Although I am still Liao Wanlong, I am Liao Wanlong without a body, just the spirit within that body.
Now I lack the various scents of , but I have gained much radiance within my spirit. I wonder if you can understand this description? Actually, after losing this body, I feel much lighter, as if many burdens have suddenly vanished. In the Dharma-Nature Land, under the Buddha’s light, my spirit grows stronger by the moment. I feel better than ever, and my mind is clearer than it has ever been.
Having arrived here for only about two days, I do not know much about this place yet. I only know that it was Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su who saved me from hell, allowing me to escape. After listening to the sutras and hear the Dharma here, I realised that the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia where I am now is such a magnificent and special place.
In the business world, my style has always been bold, known for being fast, ruthless, and accurate. If I identified a target and believed it had great potential, I would invest heavily without hesitation.
The salvation work of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia is truly unique. This work involves and affects all humanity on Earth. The mission of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia is to help all humanity receive the true benefits of the Buddha’s teachings, which is to not grow old, not get sick, and the spirit does not die. This can be clearly seen in my benefactor, Practitioner Su. It turns out that by learning Buddhism and practising the teachings of Namo Amituofo, one can actually receive such benefits. I think many people would be very surprised to hear this, as there are so many people learning Buddhism in the world, yet who has ever seen someone who does not grow old or get sick? Let alone the spirit never dies; it is unheard of.
In Taiwan, many temples are solemn and magnificent, but which monastic can avoid aging and illness? In the information I have heard in the past, there seems to be no such person. Now I know that to be able to not grow old, not get sick, and the spirit does not die is truly not an easy task. One must be a true practitioner, and the focus of their cultivation is to completely change their personality to zero.
Only Practitioner Su of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia has achieved this. After attaining Buddhahood, he works day and night, using his countless manifestations to perform Chao Du for sentient beings, saving immeasurable and boundless spirits. This is another purpose for the existence of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia: to help countless spirits in the spiritual realms attain liberation.
Therefore, it can be said that this temple is the only one on Earth that can help both the spiritual realms and the human world. The help here is not help in the ordinary sense, but to help everyone leave suffering and gain happiness, and even be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This is a great goal and a cause that everyone should participate in.
The special thing about the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia is that although it is a temple, it is not religious in nature but is based on education. Buddhist education is indeed too important for the world. If children can receive Buddhist education from a young age, it will be of great help to their future. The core of what is taught here is the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.
If one does not understand the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, it will cause great harm to one's spirit. I believe that people have spirits, but I was truly unclear about the state of the spirit, what I had specifically done, and what impact it would have on my spirit.
Now, in the Dharma-Nature Land, I can clearly see the bits and pieces of people's lives in the world, including those I know; I can clearly see everyone's situation. This is why I understand that Buddhist education is so important. The reason is that as soon as a person has selfish thoughts, as long as there is this self in the heart, everything one thinks is for the benefit of one's own body, or for the benefit of the group one belongs to, all of which are contrary to the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, and are deviated.
The result is that one's spirit is covered with layers of filth. These layers of filth represent layers of spiritual attachments, sentient beings, and . This is truly surprising; how could one discover that there are countless spirits within the human body, that is, one's own karmic creditors are within it?
In the past, many people in Taiwan believed in Buddhism and Taoism, and everyone had heard of karmic creditors. Everyone talks about resolving conflicts with karmic creditors and going somewhere to hold a Chao Du Dharma Assembly, but no one knows exactly where their karmic creditors are.
Now, I, Liao Wanlong, clearly tell everyone that karmic creditors are within your own body, in every cell of your body, and in every pore of your body. If this is not enough to understand, then to go further, your karmic creditors and sentient beings connected by karmic affinity are in every gesture you make, in every thought you change, and in every decision you make.
Why do I say this? Because in the Dharma-Nature Land, I clearly see that when a person thinks, plans, or considers, the one in charge of the body is no longer their true self, but their karmic creditors.
I only now understand that a person cannot deviate at all; not only must one be a good person in this lifetime, but one must also become a pure and good person. No one has ever said this before. Because everyone thinks that living in the world, doing a little more good is always good; but no one has ever said that one cannot do even a little bit of bad. Once done, the consequence is that one's spirit loses control of the body, which is truly miserable.
After all, working hard for a lifetime for the family, company, or various ambitions, isn't what one seeks the various benefits related to this body? Yet, ironically, the actions taken to pursue these benefits related to the body are the very reasons why the body loses control of the spirit.
I clearly see in the world that many people, due to selfish thoughts in their hearts, cause the karmic creditors within their bodies to awaken. Once these karmic creditors awaken, they will cause extremely serious interference and seek revenge. That is truly a very miserable thing, because illness is actually the result of karmic creditors seeking revenge.
So when I heard Practitioner Su say in the Dharma-Nature Land that anyone with cancer, as long as they have not had surgery, has a chance to be saved if they come to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, I was truly surprised. If people in the world knew this information, how many people would come here to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia to seek the Dharma? I think it would be countless, like a tidal wave.
After all, there are too many rich people in the world, and what everyone worries about is not living long enough, or suddenly dying from illness, or aging. The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia can help everyone solve these problems, but there is one condition.
Hearing this, I know everyone must be thinking that there is no free lunch in the world, how could one get the benefits of not aging, not getting sick, and not dying for no reason? This is natural; after all, there must be giving to receive. But this giving is not asking everyone to give any money, material, or wealth, but for everyone's heart to be truly willing to let go of selfishness and only want to give for the sake of sentient beings. When one has such a heart, regardless of how much one gives, one has the basic conditions to not age and not get sick.
It turns out that the secret to not aging and not getting sick lies in this heart. As long as this heart can remain pure and good, and recite Namo Amituofo to help sentient beings, everyone has the opportunity to receive the true benefits of the Buddha’s teachings.
This is easy to say, but not easy to do. If it were so simple, everyone would think, "Why do many temples in Taiwan also encourage everyone to do good, keep a good heart, be a good person, and even have Dharma talks and various Dharma assemblies, yet people still cannot achieve 'not grow old, not get sick, and the spirit does not die'?"
I, Liao Wanlong, want to report to everyone truthfully that the main reason is the lack of a Good Teacher. At the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, because Namo Amituofo abides here, and with the leadership of the awakened Practitioner Su, the fourfold assembly practising here has the same possibility of realising their true nature and attaining Buddhahood.
In other words, the most magnificent thing about the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia is that the Buddha abides here, and there is the only awakened being in the human world. With these two requirements, everyone can achieve true 'not grow old, not get sick, and the spirit does not die.' Because even the best concepts must be put into practice, and even the best education must have a good teacher by one's side to constantly assist and guide, so that students do not deviate from the right path and can move forward on the correct path.
In short, investing in the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia is an urgent matter. Because the work of saving the world is starting, it needs the strong support of good affinities from the ten directions. This is not any secular appeal, but a hope that after understanding the preciousness of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, everyone can work together to build this land of hope in the human world.
What is hope? That must be explored from the point of 'no hope.' For me, Liao Wanlong, as a successful entrepreneur, even with a large fortune and a huge business empire, once the breath stops, death is sudden, and leaving the world is so abrupt. Human life is indeed fragile and impermanent. If there is no true practice, no true understanding of the Truth and the Right Way in the universe, it is hard to guarantee when one's life will end. And after death, where will the spirit go? This is a big question mark. Regarding funeral matters, many Taiwanese are very familiar with them, accustomed to performing Chao Du for the deceased after death, but they cannot know where these deceased spirits have gone or what kind of encounters they have had.
In the Dharma-Nature Land, I saw that many tycoons and celebrities from all over the world entered hell to suffer after death. Many of them, like me, were saved by Practitioner Su to the Dharma-Nature Land.
After hearing their stories, I really feel that if there is no Buddhist education in the human world, then there is no hope. Because as long as there is a slight deviation, it is creating negative ; a deviation in a thought already determines a future retribution. This is a very serious issue.
All of this can now be seen at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, where space is opened and magnificent spiritual interviews are conducted. I, Liao Wanlong, am also a very lucky member, having the opportunity to be interviewed by the temple's monastics in the Dharma-Nature Land, and to send my message to everyone in the world in such a special way.
I have heard that this is called spiritual elevation, which is the ability developed by the temple's monastics through their practice and purification. It is a truly inherent ability, not like what the world perceives as 'spirit mediums' who rely on external spirits to possess them for borrowed abilities; it is an ability that should naturally exist within one's self-nature. Everyone possesses this ability—you have it, I have it, and others have it too. As long as you can purify your own spirit, you can elevate your own spirit.
If you can purify your spirit until it is completely free of any filth, you will be able to fully develop your inherent abilities, just as Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su have done to attain Buddhahood.
In the past, I never knew that a person should focus on the maintenance of their own spirit, rather than the various health treatments for this physical body. It turns out that worldly medical treatment is not the true righteous path; rather, it is a mistake that makes karmic creditors even more angry and resentful. It turns out that the root of healing illness lies in having a spirit that is completely unstained, not in the intake of any medicine or any other medical method.
Having been here for nearly two days, I have learned a great deal. However, I still find it difficult to describe the magnificence of the temple in just a few words. In short, I am here to call upon all the people of Taiwan, especially those entrepreneurs with abundant capital, to come to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre as soon as possible. By coming here, you can not grow old, not get sick. If you have cancer, as long as you do not undergo surgery, there is an opportunity for you to be fully healed here.
The key lies in whether you truly believe in your own Buddha-nature and believe in Namo Amituofo. Now, Namo Amituofo is residing at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, here to save this suffering world. As for whether you can receive the Buddha's help, that depends on how much blessings you possess.
Finally, I would like to talk about the matter of education. That is to say, if I could choose again, I would definitely have my children receive Buddhist education from a young age. Because only by letting children understand the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way from a young age can we help their spirits, prevent their spirits from suffering, and preserve their original, pure, and kind countenance.
This represents the integrity of the spirit within them, rather than a fragmented spirit that has been kicked out of the body by karmic creditors or other beings. Is your child truly themselves? This is a very grave question. I can only say that there is truly no one in the human world who is 'powerful,' because no matter how powerful you are, you must follow the Law of Cause and Effect; you must follow the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way; and the consequence of violating these principles can only be described by the word 'suffering'.
Well, I have said so much today, and it is about time to bring this to a close.
I am deeply grateful to Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su for saving me, Liao Wan-lung. Here, I am very grateful to everyone, and I also call upon everyone to come to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia as soon as possible so that you may be saved.
Liao Wan-lung
