Guan Jinsheng:
, I am Guan Jinsheng.
We personally created the legend of Wanguo Securities. Unfortunately, due to my arrogance and my overly stubborn refusal to admit defeat, I caused the downfall of Wanguo Securities. I paid the price by going to prison to serve my sentence; this was all my own doing.
This immense suffering indeed came from my own personality, which caused me to suffer great losses. Being unable to let go of the arrogance in my heart caused me tremendous harm—not only to my body, but in fact, this remains true at the level of the spirit.
Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way are things I only began to understand after I arrived at the Western Land of Nature. If one cannot follow the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, one cannot attain peace of Body-Mind-Spirit.
When I unknowingly and silently awakened the countless within my body, it was destined that I would have to endure immense suffering. It turns out that the suffering in life is all due to not knowing how to reconcile with the sentient beings within our bodies; it is all the result of karmic creditors seeking revenge.
After experiencing pain time and again, if there were no opportunity to hear the Buddha’s teachings at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre, then these sufferings might have been in vain, devoid of any meaning. This is because all the suffering or smooth, happy encounters in the world are like dreams, illusions, bubbles, and shadows—false and impermanent.
Only after experiencing the pain of life and subsequently receiving the education of the Buddha’s teachings can these sufferings have real meaning, helping one to generate true . To understand one’s own suffering is, in fact, to understand the suffering of one’s karmic creditors; to understand how much one hurts, one must realise that the karmic creditors are hurting millions of times more than oneself.
Once I understood the truth about this human body, I finally knew what life was really about. I also realised that, from the very beginning, I had no choice. Regarding the cause of saving the world, I should have taken on the responsibility without hesitation, because only in this way would there be an opportunity to truly resolve the conflict with the vengeful spirits within my body. If one cannot generate true compassion and, at the same time, cannot treat them well, one is actually harming one’s own Body-Mind-Spirit.
I, Guan Jinsheng, lost my mother at a young age; she left me when I was very small. When this soft, motherly strength was lacking by my side, my heart was often filled with a strong, rigid stubbornness. It was a kind of obstinacy that would never bow its head or admit defeat, no matter what.
Without proper guidance, I thought this stubbornness could help me succeed and overcome all difficulties. Little did I know that this was actually a wrong concept given to me by my karmic creditors and demon crowds, who hoped to use this method to lead me step by step into the traps they had set.
It turns out that at such a young age, my karmic creditors had already manifested and begun a comprehensive layout. If I had not understood what the true Truth was from a young age, it would have been very difficult to avoid stepping onto this wrong path, simply because this body is naturally like this. Without the power of the Buddha’s teachings, it is truly difficult to overcome these innate personality traits and habits.
Back then, I was known as the Godfather of Chinese Securities; perhaps it was a case of the times creating the hero. In fact, in China at that time, during the transition from a planned economy to a market economy, my partners at Wanguo Securities and I took advantage of the price difference in government bonds to earn a large amount of capital for Wanguo Securities. In this process, there was indeed a lot of toughness from the sentient beings. Of course, I cannot deny that I did have the keenness to sniff out the opportunities.
At that time, we took funds from Shanghai to various parts of the mainland to purchase government bonds at low prices from residents who were eager to cash out, and then brought them back to Shanghai to sell at high prices, using the price difference to obtain very high profits. This process was not like today, where everything can be achieved through financial technology and online trading. At that time, we had to rely entirely on manual labour to acquire the government bonds and, through commuting, bring large quantities of physical bonds back to Shanghai to sell.
Those who know the industry will surely understand that the risks involved were actually very high. But our entire team went ahead without hesitation; after all, such opportunities are not available to everyone, nor do they appear every year.
If we had not seized this business opportunity at that point in time, it would have been very difficult to earn such a large amount of capital for Wanguo Securities in the future. As the saying goes, a crisis represents a turning point; if you want to gain something, you must bear the corresponding risks. I have always firmly believed in this. Looking at the results, this operation by Wanguo Securities was very successful and was cited by many as a success story. However, during this process, the arrogance in my heart continued to grow, and I became even more confident in my own judgment. Later, the world-famous Black Swan event in the treasury bond futures market occurred, which I am sure everyone knows about. Just like that, I was defeated by my own arrogance and conceit, and even more so by my refusal to admit defeat. This brought the legend of Wanguo Securities to an end and also led to my imprisonment.
In prison, my heart had the opportunity to settle, and I slowly discovered the shortcomings in my character. I continued to learn, including politics, education, civil affairs, and religion. However, I never gave up hope in my heart, wishing that one day in the future I could return to the scene. After being released from prison, I did exactly that, starting a new business and returning to the financial world.
How was this life, after all? In the end, it is left for people to judge. From the spiritual level, the outcome was indeed a failure. Because after death, my soul entered the brain-gouging hell. In this hell, I suffered extreme torture. What I was most proud of in this life was my brain. For complex financial markets, changes in economic conditions, and even national fiscal policies, I had always been able to provide very detailed and well-founded analyses and predictions. Of course, predictions are never 100% accurate, but regarding how to do these things, my brain was very clear. In hell, the part of my body that was punished was precisely the brain I was so proud of; my head was constantly being gouged open until death, and this process was repeated endlessly. While wailing, my heart could not help but feel a sense of injustice, thinking that falling from the peak to the bottom in this life, such a life of ups and downs, was actually very bitter, and I never imagined that I would have to endure such torture after death.
Until one day, a huge golden light shone in hell. With the help of Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, my soul arrived at the Western Land of Dharma Nature of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. At this moment, I am sending these messages to everyone from the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. I am grateful for this precious opportunity that allows me to speak to people in the world again.
I encountered the Buddha’s teachings in this life and finally understood that the ups and downs of this life, the transformation of the mind, were actually never free from the control of , and were still under the interference and influence of karmic creditors. I understood that I was too arrogant, and I also understood that the refusal to admit defeat in my heart caused me to make the wrong decisions at critical moments, leading to a huge failure. However, all of this does not represent true repentance. After learning the Buddha’s teachings, I understood that true repentance is never about reminiscing and reviewing the past, but about truly letting go of the attachments in one’s heart at this very moment and starting anew. Because once you dwell on the past, it actually means that you are still greedy for it, hoping that when you start over, you can get a better result. If you still have this mentality, how can it be called true repentance?
True repentance requires forgetting everything completely, allowing one’s heart to become pure, kind, bright, and transparent. If this Buddha-name, Namo Amituofo, can shine brightly in one’s heart, that is true repentance.
The Buddha’s teachings are so vast, teaching everyone to start from this heart, with every thought being this Namo Amituofo, leading oneself and the immeasurable and boundless karmic creditors within one’s body to learn the Buddha’s teachings together. Learning the Buddha’s compassion, the Buddha’s wisdom, is even more about learning to be the person one was originally meant to be. It turns out that not only oneself, but also the countless vengeful spirits within one’s body, need to be educated. That is why the Buddha came to the world to give lectures and teach the Dharma, hoping that everyone can gradually awaken after listening to the sutras and hearing the Dharma. It turns out that one is originally a Buddha, and in the future, we should also attain Buddhahood.
Namo Amituofo is so compassionate; He created the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss so that everyone can attain true peace of spirit there, without having to worry about falling into the six realms of rebirth to suffer, and of course, without having to go to hell to be punished. At this moment, I am in the Western Land of Dharma Nature, and I am also full of gratitude as I prostrate to Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su. I am grateful to the Buddha for helping me and allowing me to come to this transit station for rebirth in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. My future is in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, and I also sincerely hope that everyone who knows me, Guan Jinsheng, including all the juniors in the financial world and even my family members, can all be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. One should really embark on the path of practice and saving the world in this life, because if one does not do so, there is really no way to escape one’s originally destined trajectory of fate. The path that was already destined when everyone was reincarnated actually includes not only ageing, sickness, and death, but also countless inner torments and physical pain.
Namo Amituofo came to the world to help everyone avoid ageing and sickness, to ensure the spirit never dies, and even more so, to help every suffering soul be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.
If everyone can accept the education of the Buddha’s teachings and understand what the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way are, then when being pulled by the various sensations of this body, one can hold onto that simplicity in one’s heart and persist in that original thought of Goodness.
Arriving at the Western Land of Dharma Nature, I finally understood that in the financial market, the various analyses, thoughts, and considerations of securities trading, as well as all the various thoughts generated for the sake of profit, are inevitably contrary to the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.
People in the world are always willing to bear various risks for their own interests. It is just like the various transactions in the financial market, hoping to grasp every change in the situation and every impact brought about by policies, and to obtain profits from them. Even if one knows in one’s heart that there is a high risk involved, one is still willing to firmly implement it; this is how people are accustomed to behaving.
In order to satisfy the desires of , or for one’s own interests, people are always willing to pay a lot. However, if it is for the sake of teaching sentient beings, for the sake of helping sentient beings leave suffering and gain happiness, would one be willing to bear the burden? This is a completely different level.
In the Land of Dharma Nature, I see that people are often able to sacrifice a lot for their own goals; but when it comes to the various efforts made to help others, the heart is always habitually calculating how much, calculating the rewards. Karma is truly a powerful force; following karma is always so easy. For the sake of this body, for the sake of one’s own , one is willing to pay no matter how much, yet what one gets is the extremely painful fruit of suffering.
And to transform karma, one always needs to go through various tests. In this process, what is tested is one’s compassion, one’s vow, and it is even more a test of whether one truly understands the truth of the universe and life. The education of the Buddha’s teachings tells us to be selfless for the sake of all beings; in fact, this is not any external method, but purely Namo Amituofo telling us the compassion that we originally had in our hearts. It turns out that the teachings of Namo Amituofo and all the content in Practitioner Su’s lectures are actually just telling us what our hearts were like in the beginning. When all the worldly dust is stripped away, one’s original heart is so pure, compassionate, bright, and good. The mental cultivation of selflessness, , and no-thought never needs to be specially practised, because that is what we were originally like. We only need to purify the various dust and stains on our hearts and truly remove these filth from our spirits.
Therefore, saving sentient beings should never make us feel like strangers, because that is something we have done countless times in the past. Coming to this world, if one cannot truly see through the illusion of the world, one falls into the trap of karma.
This body is only borrowed; for a few short decades, it is never worth paying the price of suffering in hell for it. The lifespan of the soul is infinitely long; only by letting go of the various desires of this body can one’s spirit be elevated, and even be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.
The various impulses and desires of people actually come from the interference of the karmic creditors and sentient beings within their bodies. When one makes a mistake that one should not have made, time and time again, one is actually already under the control of the karmic creditors. Just like the crazy behaviour I, Guan Jinsheng, made during the treasury bond futures incident, it can be said to stem from my own arrogance and refusal to admit defeat, but how could it not also be because I was controlled by the sentient beings within my body?
The personality and habits that cause us immense suffering are driven by the karmic creditors and spirits within our bodies. If we do not accept the Buddha’s teachings, how can we see the truth behind the various changes in our body and mind? It turns out that everything is a result of the wave-after-wave of revenge-seeking by the karmic creditors and spirits within us.
Many people think that I, Guan Jinsheng, possessed extraordinary vision and remarkable courage in my time. While I did not feel overly happy about these comments while I was alive, I did not deny them in my heart.
However, at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre’s Western Land of Dharma Nature, seeing my benefactor, Practitioner Su, perform to save sentient beings and help spirits leave suffering and gain happiness, I felt a deep sense of shame. It turns out that the difference between being able to be the master of oneself and not being able to is so vast.
Whether one’s manifested abilities are due to the influence of karmic creditors or demon crowds, pursuing worldly illusions for personal gain, or whether they are driven by a compassionate vow and one’s own inherent spiritual power to save all boundless suffering beings—these two are completely different.
Practitioner Su, with a compassionate heart and great vows, fears no hardship. Even while bearing the suffering of sentient beings, he continues to perform great Chao Du day and night throughout the Dharma Realm, the Milky Way, the universe, and every space on Earth. Practitioner Su has saved immeasurable and boundless spirits, bringing them into the Western Land of Dharma Nature, a pure and bright Buddha-land filled with compassionate vows and skillful wisdom. Once they enter, these spirits can fulfill their body-mind Causal Conditions and, when the time is ripe, be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
From the vastness of the Dharma Realm down to every being in every corner of the Earth, the distance to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss has been greatly reduced because of the Western Land of Dharma Nature established by Practitioner Su.
Seeing Practitioner Su’s fierce fearlessness in performing Chao Du, and his boldness in sacrificing his own body, I, Guan Jinsheng, finally understood what true courage is.
If one sacrifices their life only for the illusions of the world and for personal gain, there is nothing remarkable about it, and it is not worth praising. The truth is: all the psychology, behaviour, judgments, and decisions in that process are actually under the control of karmic creditors and demon crowds; it can be said that it has nothing to do with oneself. At that time, one’s own soul has long been kicked aside, shivering, helpless, weak, lonely, and without support.
But someone like Practitioner Su, who can risk everything to help spirits and people leave suffering, gain happiness, and be reborn in the Western Pure Land, that is truly remarkable! This is because Practitioner Su’s physical and mental actions are entirely governed by his own true self, arising from his vow to save the world and all beings. Under the blessing of Namo Amituofo, he can exert such immense power, bringing real benefits to both the human world and the spiritual realms.
At this moment, I, Guan Jinsheng, also appeal to all the people in China: the precious land of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is truly difficult to encounter in millions of years. Now, Namo Amituofo has come to the world, and there is also Practitioner Su, a Buddha in the flesh who has awakened and attained the Buddha’s path. If you can come to know the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, you will have the opportunity to receive the magnificent benefits of eternal youth, freedom from illness, and an immortal spirit, and you will also be able to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Therefore, how to connect with the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia should truly be the primary goal for people all over the world.
To achieve this goal, I suggest that more Namo Amituofo billboards be set up in various places. These billboards can emit golden light, helping those who are illuminated by the golden light, as well as the spirits, to more quickly mature their good roots and conditions for liberation. Not to mention the countless spirits that have been saved by being illuminated by the Buddha’s light.
The benefits that Namo Amituofo billboards bring to the human world are truly immense, and the costs involved are not high; there is really no reason not to do it.
Having said so much, I would finally like to remind all the karmically connected people who see this letter that I hope everyone can understand that rebirth in the Western Pure Land in this lifetime is the only path.
If you do not go to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss in this lifetime, how much longer will you have to reincarnate through long eons, suffering all kinds of pain? Now that the Buddha has come to the world to help everyone be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, if we do not seize this opportunity, we will have to rely on our own strength to reach a peaceful place after death. Does everyone have the confidence to do that?
My future is in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, and I hope that everyone can meet me there.
Gratitude to Namo Amituofo, gratitude to Practitioner Su.
