. I was once a man of science, but now I have arrived at the Western Land of Nature, which is a Buddha-land. I did not know of this place before. If it were the former me, I might have thought this was just a place like heaven, and perhaps I would not have been able to truly believe, because I believed in science and everything that could be empirically proven within scientific theory. I could not truly believe in things that my eyes could not see and my ears could not hear.
However, I have now truly arrived at the Buddha-land established by Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su. In the Western Land of Dharma Nature, I also learned that there is such a place as the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. These terms once flowed past my ears; they were names I was familiar with. I had heard of Namo Amituofo and the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss more than once, but I had never heard of Practitioner Su or the Western Land of Dharma Nature.
Only now do I know that here in Australia, there is already someone who, because he has awakened, realise one's true nature and attain Buddhahood, possesses the same abilities as a Buddha or . He can establish a Buddha-land and save many, many beings, enabling them to be reborn in the Western Land of Dharma Nature or the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. All these things that seem inconceivable have now truly happened, which proves that everything people in the human world know is so limited. On this Earth, we assume that the areas science can explore are already vast, and we think that many things have already been explored by humanity, but in reality, that is merely the tip of the iceberg. Yet, what the Buddha’s teachings can explain is so vast and magnificent!
As a man of science, I now truly believe in the statement often spoken by Practitioner Su that "the Dharma is the ultimate 'high technology'." However, I feel that using the word "technology" to describe the Dharma still seems somewhat limited. Perhaps using "science" or even more profound terms to describe it would better express its vastness and breadth.
I truly cherish this opportunity to be interviewed. I have deeply felt the of Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su here in the Western Land of Dharma Nature, and I am very grateful.
I know that many, many people like me have come to this place from the hells, or from various suffering realms; it is truly not easy. That we could be chosen is a matter of Causal Conditions, and perhaps it is our Buddhist affinity! More importantly, there are Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the human world who have made such great vows to save the world. I hope that through our strength, we can propagate the Buddha’s teachings so that more people will know about it and not waste this precious opportunity. Namo Amituofo coming to the human world is a rare and precious opportunity; everyone should grasp it firmly. Whether living or deceased, those who can learn of this are people of great fortune.
Therefore, I am very happy to come forward today to speak these words. I hope that through my past influence, I can help more people, especially the students I have cultivated over the decades. Each of them has developed very well in different fields, and many are presidents or founders of large companies. They possess abundant resources and funds that can help in the inheritance of the Buddha’s teachings, and they also have deep and wide connections to promote the Buddhist education of the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia.
I think this is what is important; my own strength alone is not enough. But I have such a vast number of students, all of whom are successful people; perhaps they can do even better than I can. So, I will just share all of this today, and leave the rest to them! I believe that if this matter can be spread—whether it is spread to our Tsinghua University or to the various companies in our fields—it will certainly attract everyone's attention.
Hello everyone, let me introduce myself. My name is Lu Zhicheng, and I have been away from the human world for half a year. At that time, I was suffering extreme torment in hell, in a place called the "heart-gouging hell"; it was truly very painful. Even now, when I look back, I still feel a lingering fear, but the moment I was saved, I was deeply moved.
I was saved by a beam of Buddha-light. At the time, I did not know it was Buddha-light, but I believed in the energy of light; the power it brought me was immense, and I could feel it. Therefore, I did not hesitate to enter the light and came directly to the Western Land of Dharma Nature, where I received the purification of the Buddha-light and truly came to know Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su in this place.
When I was in the human world, I was a "Tsinghua person," from my university days to graduate school, to becoming a professor at Tsinghua University, and later founding the "Tsinghua Tongfang" group. We were committed to pushing the established scientific research projects of Tsinghua University into the market, promoting their transformation from research results into commercial products. Not many people were willing to do this, because it was truly not an easy task. When putting research results into action, one often encounters various technical limitations, obstacles, or even unimaginable mistakes of all sizes. But this is also the hurdle I believed had to be overcome; otherwise, with so much research being conducted, if it did not truly benefit the masses, it would be a great pity. It was with this mindset that I pushed forward in this area.
I like the name "Tongfang" very much. Tsinghua Tongfang Group—the "Tong" from the Great Unity of the world, and the "fang" from direction. I believe this is our essence. For decades, I have been actively promoting this, and I can say I have accompanied generation after generation of students, hoping their research results could achieve better development and operate maturely in the market. This also encouraged them to better understand market needs and the precautions required in the process of moving from research to product promotion. Only in this way can we truly encourage the vast number of students to research every technology in a more practical and profound way, so that each technology can truly mature, be applied to products, and benefit the public.
I think this is a very interesting thing, because we Tsinghua people have always been pragmatic. Having said so much about my past, everyone might be very curious: why did I go to hell to receive retribution after I died? How many of us Chinese people know what hell is for? This term is too familiar, but there are probably not many who truly understand this place from the perspective of the Buddha’s teachings. Everyone thinks it is a description from novels, a place that has nothing to do with them.
But in fact, there are far too many compatriots who have dedicated their lives to projects they were interested in, doing what they wanted to do, and walking through this life, only to end up in hell. We did not do anything heinous, nor did we attack or obstruct anyone; we did our own things and played in our own fields—that was my previous understanding.
Later, I discovered that, taking the Tongfang Group as an example, there are many large and small groups spread across China and even the world. Everyone operates different projects and has different directions, but in the process of promoting and actually using the products researched, does every product and every project truly conform to the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way spoken of in the Buddha’s teachings? This matter is very subtle.
If products and technology can truly benefit the masses without causing harm to any aspect, and without harming any tangible or intangible beings, but merely helping people solve life's difficulties without polluting their character or increasing people's desires and afflictions, then that is still justifiable. But if, within the products, some cause the character to be covered in filth, making people addicted and unable to extricate themselves, or causing desires to grow, character to become chaotic, and the person unable to be the master of their own mind—and even worse, being controlled by demon crowds and beings—then these things essentially contain elements of evil.
When these products are executed on a small scale, it might be considered acceptable. But if they are circulated on a large scale across the country and even the world, the group must bear great responsibility. As the founder of the Tongfang Group, the laws of and cause and effect I had to bear lies within this. The so-called "heart-gouging hell" is because this heart was not upright. I still believed that my intentions were not crooked, because everything I did in my life was truly for the good of others, without any concealment or hidden agenda.
However, the products we operated might have caused people's character to become chaotic. If the heart is ruined, this karma is very heavy. This is also the reason I went to the "heart-gouging hell," because I never understood what the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way spoken of in the Buddha’s teachings were. I also did not know that there are so many subtle aspects in the human world that can hinder the development of people's Body-Mind-Spirit, bringing benefits while also bringing great influence and consequences. This was not what I had wanted to study, and it was indeed unexpected at the time.
Therefore, the final result remains the same, and I have nothing to complain about. I know that the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way spoken of in the Buddha’s teachings are universal and will not have exceptions just because of me. So, I willingly accept this result, and I very much hope to tell everyone this information—not just my students, not just the children of Tsinghua University, but everyone in the country and the world.
As long as one is human, when people pass on any information by word of mouth, they will have an impact on others, and the information we spread is the same. We are spreading the products themselves and the technology itself. In terms of usage, people will still pass these products and technologies on, letting more people know.
If one wants to avoid creating negative karma invisibly, one must deeply understand what the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way are in every step of the process, from research and development to product launch; otherwise, people create karma without knowing it. Just as I am now striving to call upon all the students, employees, and researchers of the Tongfang Group, as well as all those who cooperate on technology, and even many universities around the world.
I urge everyone to please take a look at these words of mine. I hope that no matter what field you are in or what industry you are doing, you must abide by the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, without bias. Even a little bias will have a very huge impact when things truly flourish. This is a fact I can see now. Having arrived at this Buddha-land, I am striving to tell this to the students across the country, as well as the students I once taught. They are now spread across all provinces, regions, and cities in the country, and even in many cities around the world. Some are engaged in research work, some have become directors and founders of groups, some are shining in various positions, and some have become university professors, following the same path as I did.
No matter what career or identity you have, if you can understand the essence of Buddhist education, it will have a tremendous impact on your life.
Now, I, Lu Zhicheng, am speaking these words on the Western Land of Dharma Nature established by Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, which proves that the "not grow old, not get sick, and the spirit does not die" spoken of in the Buddha’s teachings is true and not false. My physical body has left the human world for more than half a year, yet my spirit can still be conveyed through the people in the temple. This represents that everything operated by the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is real and can truly help people in the world solve various difficult problems in the human world.
This is because Namo Amituofo is residing here, and Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju is also here accompanying everyone. The wisdom of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas is infinitely vast, while what we ordinary people know is so narrow, yet we often think we are right and do not listen to counsel; this is truly a sad thing.
I see that the wisdom of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas is so perfect because they have completely let go of the "self," have no selfish desires, no miscellaneous thoughts, and are wholeheartedly acting for the sake of saving beings. In such a pure and good state, one can naturally find one's original true self, and the true self can also be exerted infinitely.
It is just like Practitioner Su coming to Australia and establishing this temple. I am grateful that Namo Amituofo is residing here, and with the powerful cooperation of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in performing and the management of various skills, it is possible for people in the world to truly understand this great education and solve many difficult problems that people in the world cannot solve.
I ask my students, you all have such great achievements now, but do you know where you will go after you die? Do you know what the world after death is like? I think these are things you do not know, but I can know. Because I have walked this path; I have walked through hell and entered the Buddha-land, and I understand it too profoundly.
I am a fortunate person. Although I once suffered extreme torture in hell for over half a year, and these memories remain vivid, I do not mind this experience at all today. This experience taught me so much about the truth of life; it taught me that holding firmly to the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way is such a precious thing. Since what people in the world know is so limited, we should be even more humble and modest in learning from the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Do not assume that what you know is the whole truth—alas, you are still far from it! We are merely people who can receive knowledge from limited sources or have some expertise in our own fields. How could we possibly know the truth of this vast universe?
Practitioner Su is different. Practitioner Su’s heart is empty, empty of everything, without any defilement. Under such circumstances, one can naturally retrieve everything one originally knew—that is, all the truths within one's instinct and self-nature. This is a treasure hidden deep in everyone's heart, one that can be explored and used to help more people. Looking across the whole world, there is truly only Practitioner Su who has achieved this.
Realising one's true nature sounds like a distant matter, but in fact, if you are willing to follow the footsteps of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, walking step by step without your own subjective thoughts and views—doing whatever the Buddha says—then realising one's true nature can be achieved. The most important thing is whether this vow is willing to be raised, and whether, after knowing the truth of the universe, you are willing to tell yourself: "If everyone could know this truth, how wonderful that would be!"
I am now in the Western Land of Dharma Nature, and my heart is even broader and more vast; I can see more truths that I could not see before. We scientists are always attached to the idea that we must be able to see and touch things, and that we must have evidence and arguments to prove every truth we explore, but the Buddha’s teachings do not require this.
The Buddha’s teachings are known by those who are truly pure, whose eyes are opened to all the truths of the universe; it is a natural occurrence. This is what is called the natural phenomenon within nature; it does not require any deliberate effort or study. Once this instinct is developed, it can naturally exert great efficacy.
My students! If you are willing to follow my footsteps, especially the footsteps of Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, to understand the highest science in this universe, you must listen to or read these words of mine carefully.
You can also refer to many scientists in the Western Land of Dharma Nature, such as Albert Einstein and famous scientists from our own country, like Qian Xuesen. I think everything they explained from a scientific perspective will resonate more with your hearts! In the end, the most important thing is the essence of the Buddha’s teachings, which can help everyone attain a state where they do not grow old, not get sick, and the spirit does not die. This is the longing of everyone in the human world, yet so few people know about it. This time, a Practitioner Su has appeared in the human world, which has moved Namo Amituofo to reside in the world. I think such a good thing must be widely promoted so that our fellow countrymen in China and people all over the world can hear about it sooner and be saved sooner.
I believe that with the inherent qualities of us Chinese people, although we have experienced storms and many ups and downs, and even suffered heavy casualties, the universal longing for liberation of body, mind, and spirit remains unchanged.
Having come up from hell, I have many reflections and have learned a lot. Now that I am truly listening to the sutras and hearing the Dharma here, I understand the importance of purity and goodness, and I know that nothing in the world should be grasped tightly; only by truly letting go can one attain great Wisdom. The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas were also able to recover their inherent abilities because they completely let go of all attachments and discarded them cleanly.
Although this path is very long and not easily achieved, I would like to appeal to everyone as a spirit: if one or two people can take these words to heart and are willing to learn, then our Chinese people will be saved, and our Chinese children will all be saved!
Today's society places such importance on science, yet few people know what the essence of science is, which is truly a pity. I hope that through this small sharing, I can give everyone some correct understanding and concepts, and that you will not follow my old path. If there is any bias, it will all be nothing left in the end, and you will still have to suffer immeasurable and boundless pain and torment.
Finally, I have also been hearing about the Namo Amituofo billboards. In China, many large and small Buddha billboards have been set up in various places. Practitioner Su has been actively promoting this because the Namo Amituofo billboards are very important and can save a great number of beings. This is Practitioner Su's vow, and it was only after it was initiated and received the assistance of Namo Amituofo that such a Chao Du effect could be achieved.
This is a very important matter. According to current Chinese laws, although the Namo Amituofo billboards cannot be directly presented to the public and require careful consideration and arrangement for every single one, we cannot wait for all of this, and we know the odds are not high. Therefore, we can establish Namo Amituofo billboards in our own way, hoping to use the Buddha-light within the billboards to save all sentient beings with karmic affinity. Regardless of which realm the beings are in, or which space they exist in, as long as those with affinity can get close to the Namo Amituofo billboard, they can naturally follow the Buddha-light to the Western Land of Dharma Nature and escape the dark spaces they currently exist in, as well as the spaces where they are suffering.
I think such a good thing must be vigorously and actively promoted. Currently, some enthusiastic fellow practitioners across the country have set up Namo Amituofo billboards in five provinces, including: Shanxi, Fujian, Guangdong, Sichuan, and Yunnan.
Although these billboards are not large and cannot be as tall as those in other countries, this power is already immense. Many people are very actively participating in the production of small Namo Amituofo billboards. Although they are small in size, as long as people encounter the compassionate vows of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, combined with the good vows of beings seeking salvation, they can still exert great power and save many beings.
In our spiritual space, every inch of land and every tiny molecule contains the existence of beings. Therefore, no matter where such a billboard is set up, regardless of size, it can save immeasurable and boundless beings. This is why Practitioner Su is very actively promoting this project.
I also sincerely hope that after my students see this interview, they can actively set up such billboards in their respective companies or schools. For example, if Tsinghua University could have such a billboard, that would be amazing; it is a real pity that Beijing, as the capital of the country, does not yet have one.
Of course, we can take various methods to proceed; it does not necessarily have to be known to the public, but it is very important that the beings in the spiritual realms can be saved. If people can truly accept such billboards, that would be the best thing.
Well, I have said so much today, and I hope it was expressed clearly and logically. Regardless, as long as it can reach everyone's ears, I will be satisfied.
