Amitabha Buddha's discourse:
In the sutra text of "The Infinite Sutra (The Buddha Speaks the , Infinite Life, Adornment, Purity, Impartiality, and Sutra) - Chapter 34: Enlightenment of the Mind," it is mentioned: "After being born in the Land of Infinite Life, one will experience boundless , permanently uproot the root of birth and death, and no longer suffer from the afflictions of worry and distress."
It clearly points out that being born in the Land of Infinite Life, which is the of Ultimate Bliss, means one will no longer be reincarnated.
Because one practises amidst the Infinite Life and Infinite Light of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, one will eventually attain awakened being and achieve the Buddha's path,
which is the fundamental method to permanently uproot the root of birth and death, and one will no longer suffer from the afflictions of worry and distress.
The Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is the reliance for spiritual life;
it is the Buddha-land established by Namo Amituofo for every being to attain Buddhahood.
As long as beings can believe in the Buddha, and do so with deep faith and vows—
arouse the Bodhi mind and single-mindedly recite Namo Amituofo,
they can grow and achieve the fruit of Bodhi,
and by putting this into practice and making progress step by step,
they will be able to enter the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss at the end of this life.
This means they can permanently uproot the root of birth and death, no longer be reincarnated, end birth and death, and transcend the three realms,
no longer live in worry, terror, and fear within the burning house of the three realms,
no longer suffer from birth, aging, sickness, death, impermanence, and the suffering of being unable to take charge,
no longer consume one another.
But one must let go of everything in this world, put down all worldly attachments, and chant one Buddha's name to the end,
only then can one enter the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss,
for in reality, one cannot take anything with them; only one's follows.
This life of practice is for the purpose of entering the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss,
for the purpose of practising to attain awakened being and permanently uprooting the root of birth and death,
so that one has the ability to follow the Buddha to save countless suffering beings.
This is also the purpose of the practice for the fourfold assembly at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia—the place where Namo Amituofo truly dwells.
