Amitabha Buddha's discourse:
"The sound like thunder, the unawakened" refers to the Great Beings in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.
Their Dharma teaching sounds like thunder, capable of enabling the unawakened, such as ordinary people, to attain some awakening.
This indicates that the Great Beings' teaching is powerful and resonant, capable of shaking the hearts and conduct of beings,
and enabling the awareness of beings to manifest.
"The Dharma sound like thunder, awakening the unawakened" is the flexible teaching according to the capacity of the listener, without limitations.
Because the Great Beings are already selfless and have attained , they are able to perceive the root capacity of others and teach according to their aptitude,
thus they are those who skilfully teach and awaken the unawakened.
Such conduct can also be seen in the Western Great Beings and various great Bodhisattvas caring for the lesser Bodhisattvas,
as they are able to teach the lesser Bodhisattvas.
In the Infinite Life Sutra (The Buddha Speaks the , Infinite Life, Adornment, Purity, Impartiality, and Sutra),
it is clearly pointed out that the various practices and true merits of the Great Beings in the Western Land,
if one were to speak extensively of their true merits, even after hundreds of thousands of millions of kalpas, they could not be exhausted.
Those who become a Buddha are those who have perfected self-awakening, awakening others, and the practice of awakening.
If a Bodhisattva can, amidst the Dharma sound like thunder awakening the unawakened, enable beings to awaken,
this is also the provision for a Bodhisattva to become a Buddha,
enabling the elevation of spirits, moving towards the Buddha's path, and advancing the lotus grade and spiritual achievements to a higher level.
If the Bodhisattvas in the world can rely on the Infinite Life Sutra (The Buddha Speaks the Mahayana, Infinite Life, Adornment, Purity, Impartiality, and Enlightenment Sutra),
and faithfully follow the Bodhisattva practices and their true merits, they will be able to achieve magnificent spiritual achievements.
In the worldly realm and the world, because beings in the age of the Dharma’s decline have heavy ,
those who fail to follow the teachings,
if they have a self, ego-attachment, self-views, or selfishness, then regarding the teachings in the sutras,
they will be unable to continue practising them;
if they encounter interference from , karmic beings, or other various factors that make it difficult to continue,
then their spiritual achievements will stagnate, making it difficult to progress or leading to regression in practice.
This is a common occurrence, but I hope that by raising it here, it can serve as a warning to those who see and hear it,
to persist and increase their own spiritual achievements,
which is also helping the karmic creditors within oneself to grow in tandem, breaking through delusion and attaining enlightenment.
This is the Bodhisattva's conduct in the world.
