Recorded on May 8, 2026

Having passed away after a long illness, he now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his spiritual journey and his transition from suffering to liberation. Recorded by the chief writer, Fa Ning, on May 8, 2026.
Liu Deye speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. My name is Liu Deye, and I was once an old man who lived to be nearly ninety. I never expected that a single illness would take my life, yet now I have been granted such a miraculous opportunity to arrive here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. It is truly inconceivable! After I passed away, I suffered in a dark, stagnant space, then entered the , and now, I have finally arrived here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. In these short two years, my spirit has undergone a profound transformation."
A Miraculous Turn of Events
"While here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I have constantly expressed my gratitude before the Buddha. Looking back on my journey, I must have been a disciple of the Buddha in a past life to be able to return to His side now. My heart is filled with such deep emotion. The moment I looked at the Buddha, tears of a man—tears of pure relief and —streamed down my face."
"I know now that this is my true home. I spent my entire life in the human world busy with trivialities, but here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I have finally found my true home, my ultimate destination. I do not know how to express the gratitude in my heart, so I simply continue to kowtow to the Buddha to show my appreciation. I am also deeply grateful to my family in the human world, and especially to my daughter, Liu Yuqin, who arranged for my Chao Du. Thank you for doing this for your father, and thank you for discovering the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre—this magnificent place. There is truly no other temple like it in the entire world."
The Illusion of the Human World
"I can see things so clearly from here: everything in the human world is merely an illusion, a fleeting shadow. Once I was freed from that physical body and my spirit was thoroughly purified, I no longer held onto any attachments to the past, nor did I feel any longing for it. My heart is in a state of perfect emptiness—it is so comfortable, so free, and so at ease."
"The inner world of every being here in the Western Land is exactly like this. With a single recitation of 'Namo Amituofo,' everyone feels immense joy and profound stability; there are no unnecessary thoughts. We all clearly understand that arriving here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss means we can become a Buddha, so everyone is diligent in their practice and learning, never daring to slack off."
A Message to My Family
"I want to tell my family: please, do not worry about me. I have arrived at this place, and I am truly stable and at peace. You do not need to miss me, and you do not need to dwell on my memory. The best thing you can do is to be diligent in your own practice so that you, too, can return to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Although I did not have the tremendous that you have—to know the Buddha and walk the path of practice while still in the human world—I suffered in that dark, sickly space after death. It felt as if that illness never stopped; I spent my days in a state of perpetual sickness. Those dark days left me with a distorted perception, and I did not even know if I was dead or alive."
"My mind seemed locked in that space of illness, and I had forgotten about the past. Only after arriving here did I wake up and realise that I had indeed passed away due to that illness. The past is no longer important. What matters is that I can now continue my practice here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. It is a wonderful thing to cultivate my heart, accumulate more merit, and dedicate it to the I once owed."
The Path to True Peace
"Now that I no longer have a human body, I do not have the same great blessings that you all have. If one still has a human body, one can be like Practitioner Su, who possesses the high technology of the . If I could have learned the Buddha’s teachings earlier and truly understood the , I believe I would have walked this path of practice while I was still in the human world."
"Having said all this, my greatest hope is that my family can spend the rest of your lives in peace and stability. With the recitation of 'Namo Amituofo' by your side, you should be able to feel a sense of peace and strength in your hearts. I am here, constantly chanting with the Buddha and listening to the sutras; I have no other thoughts. Because I know that the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss is right before me, I am already completely at ease—I do not need to seek any other path. I hope you can all be like me and hold firm to your faith right now."
"Especially to my daughter: thank you for performing the Chao Du for me. You still remember what your old father looked like when he was alive, don't you? Just make sure you do not follow in my old footsteps. Remember, if you are going to walk a path, walk the true path of the Buddha. You must learn to let go; do not be overly attached to anything in the human world, as it will only cause your body to suffer in vain. This is what I have seen from here, and I offer this small report to you all."
"Now, I wish to return to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss to continue my diligent practice on my lotus seat. I look forward to the day when my family and everyone I know can return to this place."
"Thank you, Namo Amituofo. Thank you, Practitioner Su."
"Namo Amituofo."
