A Mother's Message from the Western Pure Land

This is a record of an interview with Lay Practitioner Yang Biyun, the mother of Lay Practitioner Lin Lianxi, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her transition and her heartfelt message to her daughter. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on November 8, 2024.

Lay Practitioner Yang Biyun speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. Lianxi, my dear daughter, Mother has finally arrived in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, and I have truly seen the Buddha. The moment I beheld the Buddha, my heart was filled with such profound joy—a joy that welled up from the very depths of my soul. My heart feels so cool and refreshed. All the afflictions I once carried—the worries for our family, the burdens of my physical body—have completely vanished. It is as if a heavy weight has been lifted, and I am finally at peace."

The Radiance of the Western Pure Land

"I see the Buddha constantly emitting brilliant light, and the sound of the Buddha-name chanting blends perfectly with the crisp, melodic songs of the birds. I cannot help but smile continuously. So, this is the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss! Everything here is so incredibly beautiful and magnificent. This world is real—it is truly, undeniably real."

"When I hear the Buddha giving Dharma talks, I sit down with such solemnity and respect. It feels as though the Buddha is right here in front of me. Seeing the Buddha’s compassionate and radiant face, I have made a firm vow to learn from Him with all my heart."

A Message to My Daughter

"Lianxi, being able to reach the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is such a tremendous blessing for both your father and me. We are truly fortunate. Now that your father and I have both let go of everything and have arrived here, you can finally set your heart at ease. You no longer need to worry about us. The most important thing now is you."

"I must ask you: Are you practising the Buddha’s teachings diligently? Do you truly believe in the Buddha with your whole heart? Your father and I have been lost in the cycle of rebirth for so long, and it is only through the Causal Conditions created by your devotion that we were able to encounter the Buddha in this lifetime."

The Path to True Liberation

"You still possess a human body, and you still have the precious opportunity to learn and practise. Please, do not waste a single day. Mother hopes that you will cultivate a firm, unwavering faith in the Buddha and make your vows with absolute sincerity. In this lifetime, you must see the Buddha and be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss."

"There are far too many people, things, and events in this world that cause us such immense suffering. Many people are unaware of this suffering, but you know it well. Do not let yourself continue to roll in the mud of this samsaric existence. Be a clear-minded and awakened person."

"I look forward to the day when we will meet again in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Namo Amituofo. With palms joined, Yang Biyun."
