Spiritual Life is Endless, Therefore One Must Be Careful in Speech and Action
Recorded and transcribed by ’s disciple, Venerable Fa Hui, on the eleventh of May, 2025, these teachings offer a profound insight into the nature of spiritual liberation. Namo Amituofo explains that the term "Dharma" refers to the various methods and gates of practice available to us. To be "at ease with the Dharma" means that one has mastered the 84,000 Dharma gates. Such a person can utilise these methods with , never becoming restricted or trapped by the methods themselves. This is the state of one who is truly at ease with the Dharma.
Both the Buddha and those who have achieved possess this profound freedom. They are able to observe the external conditions and the specific potential of each individual. By perceiving the problems and obstacles that sentient beings face, they can apply the appropriate methods—or even demonstrate that there is no fixed method at all—to help beings resolve their suffering and break through delusion to attain . These awakened beings serve as the great guides for all sentient beings in the Dharma realm. If you are fortunate enough to encounter such a teacher, you should cherish the connection, seek the Dharma diligently, and grasp the precious opportunity to realise your true nature.
In the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, the environment is one of perfect harmony. Beings there are able to listen to the sutras and hear the Dharma, remaining at ease with the Dharma regardless of their surroundings. Because all methods are rooted in the ultimate reality, Namo Amituofo manifests various teachings according to the hearts and minds of the beings there, helping them see the truth of reality clearly. Within this pure and virtuous land, beings are free from all forms of suffering and receive only happiness. They do not generate impure or evil thoughts; instead, they cultivate only pure and virtuous practices. By simultaneously cultivating both merit and Wisdom, they make offerings to all the Buddhas of the Dharma realm, thereby nurturing the and Wisdom of their own spirits.
Within the Western Land of Infinite Life and Infinite Light, the continuous purification of the spirit allows beings to ascend through the four lands and the nine grades of rebirth. They continue to rise until they reach the state of Awakening and enter the Land of Eternally Quiescent Light to attain Buddhahood. This is the unique and magnificent quality of the Western Pure Land. The Western Land of Dharma Nature is a realm established upon the foundation of Dharma nature and boundless mind-capacity. Because Dharma nature is without limits, the land it creates is also infinite. It encompasses everything, merging into one with the vast, boundless void. Therefore, the Western Land of Dharma Nature can accommodate an immeasurable number of beings, expanding infinitely without ever becoming crowded. The lotus seats for the beings in this land are also infinite, which is a clear manifestation of being at ease with the Dharma.
The Western Land of Dharma Nature is present here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia.
