Buddha-light and the Holy Name in the Dharma Assembly

Teachings by Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju:

At the place where Namo Amituofo is residing here—the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia,

the three-day "Thrice Yearning Ceremonies" is led by Namo Amituofo,

one can see the Buddha-light shining across the earth to the sky, and even radiating into the void.

Those who can see it and enter the light will have their defilements extinguished and goodness arise; their bodies and minds will become soft and supple.

Because of the energy blessing of the Buddha-light, their spiritual quality is purified and elevated.

Those who receive Chao Du,

naturally will be able to be reborn into the heavenly or human realms corresponding to their spiritual state at that time,

and those who chant the Buddha's name will be able to enter the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.

Whether they are crawling or flying creatures, insects, birds, flowers, or trees,

all can shed their animal, plant, or insect outer garments and proceed to the place of Chao Du.

There are also many beings existing in space who, upon receiving the illumination of the Buddha-light,

have the opportunity to leave that space and enter the light.

Many beings, having been in the same realm for long kalpas and many lifetimes, still fail to awaken even when they see the light.

Although the karmic affinity for these beings to be delivered has not yet arrived,

because wherever Namo Amituofo goes, the Holy Name "Namo Amituofo" must follow,

as long as beings hear one sentence of the Holy Name "Namo Amituofo",

and follow by chanting this Holy Name, listening to it enter their ear roots,

Once it enters the ear, it becomes a seed for the Path forever, and there will surely be a time for their deliverance later.

Therefore, fourfold assembly, residing in this exceptionally magnificent place of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre,

step by step, in every word and every sentence,

if you can speak the Holy Name "Namo Amituofo", the beings around you at that time

will have the opportunity to be delivered.

This is the practice of the Namo Amituofo’s Forty-eight Great Vows; may this vow be widely spread.

Not only are beings of this world delivered,

but beings of the six paths, even those of the Four Sacred Realms and the Dharma realm of emptiness, at the Thrice Yearning Ceremonies,

whether they are beings coming to plead for Chao Du or demon crowds requesting to surrender, all have the opportunity to be delivered.

During the Dharma assembly, any sentence of the Buddha-name chanted by the fourfold assembly,

can be spread to the hearts of beings and enter their ear roots.

This Dharma affinity is very magnificent;

that is, the Buddha-name chanted by the fourfold assembly can be spread through this Dharma affinity,

and for immeasurable and boundless beings, as long as they have karmic affinity with the fourfold assembly,

this Buddha-name can enter their ear roots and allow them to have a time of deliverance.

This is the "skillful means" of Namo Amituofo,

and it is also Practitioner Su’s compassion in saving beings—to save one is to save one;

allowing those who are saved to pass it on to ten, ten to a hundred, a hundred to a thousand, a thousand to ten thousand, and so on,

so that all may have a time of deliverance.

This article is the exhortation from the Teacher to the fourfold assembly during the Thrice Yearning Ceremonies;

may you listen to it, accept it, and practise it, and you will surely gain much.
