My dear children,

Within the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre, whenever there is a need for the temple's work, you must ask yourselves: have you truly devoted your heart to the task at hand? This is especially true for your daily practice—your prostrations, your chanting of Namo Amituofo, and your recitation of the Sutras. When you devote your heart completely, your strength will naturally manifest alongside it. By giving your all, your body, mind, and spirit will advance together on the path to .

The Infinite Reach of Small Acts

Everything you do at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre for the sake of all beings carries profound weight. The benefits of your sincere practice extend far beyond what the physical eye can see:

  • To the Heavens and the Four Sacred Realms: Your devotion resonates through the higher planes of existence.
  • To the Suffering Realms: Your merit reaches down to the hells, the hungry ghosts, and the animal realm, offering them a chance for relief.
  • To the Earth and All Things: Even the dust and the vast earth itself share in the benefits of your practice, allowing you to form immeasurable affinities with all beings.

Do not underestimate the power of a single kind word. When you speak with , you provide a gentle environment for the spirits attached to others—including their , resentful spirits, and demon crowds—to be influenced by your kindness, leading them to find peace and harmony. Similarly, do not underestimate the value of a single good deed. A simple act of service brings to yourself and others, allowing everyone to share in the merit. Even a single good thought is powerful. When you hold a benevolent intention, the beings touched by your energy receive the influence of that goodness. In the silence of your heart, you are increasing the collective store of positive energy and facilitating a transformation from confusion to awakening.

Service as a Path to Wisdom

Whether you are working in the kitchen, the laundry, cleaning the grounds, or performing any other duty within the temple, remember that these tasks are not merely chores. They are opportunities to serve the community, to broaden your Dharma affinities, and to cultivate your . You should perform these duties with a joyful heart, giving your full effort and attention. Please, do not fall into the trap of comparing your work with others or complaining about your responsibilities. When you complain, you allow your hard-earned blessings to slip away through your words and dissipate through your actions.

A Sanctuary for the True Nature

At the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, you are protected by the presence of the Buddha and the guidance of Practitioner Su. This place is a precious sanctuary designed for you to rediscover your true nature. In this world and throughout the Dharma Realm, such an opportunity is rare and difficult to encounter. Therefore, you must devote your heart and soul to your practice. You must put in the necessary effort to progress diligently. Because your confusion, personal ego, and selfish habits are deeply ingrained, simply practising is not enough. You must be fiercely diligent to remove these defilements and attain purity.

The Path of Letting Go

The Buddha and Practitioner Su have repeatedly reminded and urged you of this, for it is truly essential. I hope that you, my children, will finally let go of your ego-attachment, your personal views, and all the various forms of . All these attachments are merely defilements; they are the manifestations of worldly and the cycle of rebirth. You must let go of the self—let go of your attachment to physical sensations, your cravings, and your constant need to protect your own comfort. Only when you truly let go can your original nature, your true self, have the opportunity to reveal itself before you. Namo Amituofo.
