Teachings by Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju:
“Ji Ji” (汲汲) describes a state of being busy;
“Diligently and tirelessly” refers to being busy again and again, without rest from morning until night.
People in the world diligently and tirelessly pursue wealth, riches, or academic qualifications,
only to find that in the end, there is nothing left.
Nothing can be taken with you; only your follows you.
This diligent pursuit only results in accumulating karma, leading to the suffering of in the lower realms.
In practice, we know that life is precious and a human body is hard to obtain, yet our lifespan is limited.
Therefore, be diligent and tireless; do not let a single moment pass in vain, and be active and persistent without slackening.
“Diligently and tirelessly” means to chant one Buddha's name to the end,
24/7, with continuous chanting without interruption.
“Diligently and tirelessly” means to quickly change personality traits,
do not be willful or careless, letting your personality traits be the master, creating various evils and reaping bitter fruits,
which obstructs the growth of and Wisdom (Prajna), causing your spiritual achievements to regress instead of progress.
When the manifestation of karma occurs and you cannot be the master,
amidst your own diligent practice, pray for the compassionate blessing of Namo Amituofo.
Furthermore, with a heart of utmost sincerity and earnestness, and with the assistance of Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su,
resolve the conflict with beings, through purification, and then more purification, only then will there be a time for spiritual achievements.
This is what the students of Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre must do.
Time is pressing, life is diminishing, and beings are suffering immensely, waiting to be saved.
You yourself and all the beings within you are all beings waiting to be saved.
