The Burden of the Cycle of Rebirth

You have already set foot upon the threshold of the Buddha’s , waiting patiently to wash away the accumulated dust of countless eons of wandering. Yet, you remain ensnared within the cycle of rebirth, trapped in the suffering within suffering. You have tasted the bitterness of this world, time and time again, until your very soul has grown weary of the cycle. The Buddhas and your teachers yearn to rescue you, to guide you away from this sea of sorrow, yet you remain attached to the world, seemingly content in your confusion, unwilling to let go of the very things that bind you to this cycle.

The Six Realms of Existence

Consider the paths you have wandered through in your long journey of samsara. You have been reincarnated through the six realms of existence, experiencing the following states: the Hells, a state of intense suffering and retribution; Hungry Ghosts, a state of insatiable craving and deprivation; Animals, a state of ignorance and instinctual fear; Celestial Beings, a state of temporary pleasure that eventually fades; and Asuras, a state of conflict and pride. You have been tossed about by the waves of your own , and your true form is no longer complete, fractured by the weight of your past actions.

Your Six Roots are obstructed by layer upon layer of ignorance, and your spirit is filled with profound sorrow. You have forgotten your original, sacred vow to reach the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. You must learn to practise with sincerity to clear these obstructions.

The Precious Opportunity for

When you descended into this world, your true nature was obscured by the heavy dust of delusion. Now, however, your good roots have manifested once more. You are being drawn by a magnificent affinity, a golden thread leading you back to the Truth. A tremendous blessing is now before you. It is incredibly rare to encounter the Buddha-land in this lifetime. You must cherish this moment with all your heart; you must not let go of this path.

The Compassionate Call of Namo Amituofo

If you let go of this practice now, when will you ever find your way home? Who else can come to save you from the abyss? Do not enter the wrong path again. Namo Amituofo, your compassionate Father, calls out to you in every moment, saying, My child, return to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss quickly. This teaching was recorded by the chief writer, the Buddha's disciple, Venerable HaiZe.
