Every Moment is a New Beginning

Amitabha Buddha's discourse:

Lay down the heavy burdens of the past; in every moment, return to zero, for it is a new beginning.

Regardless of worldly wealth, desires, status, or habits of eating and sleeping,

personality traits such as greed, a tendency towards anger, ignorance, arrogance, or suspicion,

in every moment, return to zero, for it is a new beginning.

Regarding practice, worldly emotions, family, education, and status,

in every moment, return to zero, for it is a new beginning.

Regardless of everything that exists within the world or beyond the world, in every moment, return to zero,

it is a new beginning.

Originally, everything in the world and the six realms of rebirth proceed within the cycle of cause and effect,

in every moment, it is a new beginning, and a new beginning holds infinite possibilities.

For Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, patriarchs and venerable masters, those who have realised their true nature, and those who are selfless and without a sense of self,

they can "follow the hearts of beings and respond according to their capacity" regarding the people, things, and scenery of the present moment;

responding to the needs of beings, they know immediately, manifest immediately, and fulfill the wishes of sentient beings,

their opportunity to deliver sentient beings is a new beginning in every moment.

For beings, their karmic bodies are constantly changing amidst impermanence.

In every moment, no matter how things change,

Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, patriarchs and venerable masters, and those who have realised their true nature and attained meditative concentration remain unmoved in their hearts, and are able to observe the hearts of beings,

providing teachings and guidance, helping beings recognise the truth of suffering, emptiness, and impermanence,

and not to have attachment to the essence of karmic suffering in rebirth—the cycle of cause and effect.

The body experiences the impermanence of birth, aging, sickness, and death; the environment and the Earth experience the changes of formation, abiding, destruction, and emptiness,

in every moment, it is a new beginning; no two moments are the same,

this is the truth of rebirth and worldly impermanence.

By clearly recognising this truth, one will not be deluded or suffer because of external appearances, and will be able to rediscover one's original coolness and ease.
