In the practice of Buddhism, if one wishes to enter the supreme One Vehicle Buddhism, one must undergo a profound process of purification. This is not merely a physical or mental exercise, but a complete purification of -Mind-Spirit. The spirit must be continuously elevated, again and again, until all the pollution within the body, mind, and spirit is completely removed. Only when the dust and filth that cover our true self are washed away can we realise and attain Buddhahood. The process of purifying and elevating the spirit is, in essence, the very process of our practice.
Awakening is one of the primary goals of our practice. However, it is not an end in itself. The true purpose of our practice is to realise Awakening so that we may save ourselves and, more importantly, save all beings, helping them leave suffering behind and find rebirth in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This is the compassionate mission of every practitioner.
In the practice of the school, the most essential method is the recitation of the name of . We must ensure that our chanting becomes a continuous, flowing stream that never stops, twenty-four hours a day. This is an indispensable method for saving oneself and others, for entering the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, and for achieving success in our practice.
At the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, Namo Amituofo is truly residing here. We are blessed to have the presence of the Buddha, alongside Practitioner Su, the salvation team, and the fourfold assembly of disciples. Together, we follow the Buddha's path—the path of following Namo Amituofo to save the world and deliver all beings.
The Buddha's actions in this world are vast and profound. Many of the ways in which the Buddha saves beings are not commonly heard of in the ordinary world. Even when one hears of them, the question remains: can one truly believe? If you believe, you are truly trusting in the Buddha. If you doubt, you have not yet fully placed your faith in the Buddha.
The Buddha's work is manifested in many miraculous ways, such as:
Practitioner Su often says, "To practise, one must be able to let go of . If you still have a sense of 'I,' if you are still attached to your body, or if you are still caught up in your own and sensations, it is very difficult to make progress in your practice."
These are the heartfelt words of Practitioner Su as he follows the Buddha's path. The fourfold assembly of disciples should take these words as a deep warning. You must chant one Buddha's name to the end. When you can let go of your body and transcend your own sensations, you will reach the state of no-self, and the Buddha's path will be attained. Following the Buddha's path, the work of saving beings never ends.
