I am Dato' Lim Kim Chong from Singapore, a self-made Chinese businessman. I was originally a poor boy, relying on selling ice cream and lettuce salads at fifteen to support my family. But though I was poor, my spirit was not; through hard work, I finally made a name for myself in the world of real estate, embarking on the various experiences of my life, and was even called an industrialist by the world.
I once donated to universities to establish educational funds, cultivating knowledgeable young talents for the Chinese community, hoping that young people would have the opportunity to receive a university education. At the same time, I also served as the Honorary President of the Singapore Chung Hwa Medical Institution. Later, I returned to my hometown in Fujian, China, to renovate schools, build roads, and rebuild temples; these were the wishes of my life, and they have all been fulfilled.
I only received two years of formal education in my life, and after taking on the burden of supporting my family at fifteen, I did not return to school, so I consider myself a person without much academic learning. However, through a heart of perseverance and the wisdom of survival, I carved out a place for myself. I also once fully supported my teacher, Venerable Master Chin Kung, at the Singapore Buddhist Lodge, contributing my efforts during the Master's time spreading the Dharma in Singapore. This counts as some of my contributions to the Buddha’s teachings. I do not seek any reward; I only hope that the public or those with karmic affinity can obtain the true benefits of the Buddha’s teachings through my efforts. The ultimate goal of practice is still to be reborn in the of Ultimate Bliss.
Today, I, Lim Kim Chong, feel quite ashamed, yet also deeply grateful. This is because, at this moment, by the of and Practitioner Su, I have been rescued from the brain-gouging hell and settled in the Western Land of Dharma Nature at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. This is an unbelievable event, and even I find it quite surprising. I had originally thought that this lifetime would be my last, and that I would successfully be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Although I was ill when I passed away, I was fortunate to have the Singapore Buddhist Lodge and many fellow practitioners chanting for me, and in the eyes of the world, I passed away peacefully.
At that time, from the perspective of the world, my spirit seemed to depart peacefully. But in truth, when my physical body became ill, my spirit had already fallen into hell to suffer. This thrilling and harrowing account is something I only saw clearly after being rescued to the Western Land of Dharma Nature. Because my spirit had entered hell at that time, I was suffering the pain of brain-gouging without interruption. Why did I fall into the brain-gouging hell? Now, I finally understand.
Although I studied the Buddha’s teachings and chanted the Buddha's name in this lifetime, and received chanting at the time of my passing, my support while alive, or the achievements in spreading the Dharma and the great efforts seen by the world, do not equate to being able to enter the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss directly. There are many examples of this that can be witnessed at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Although it is not easy for a spirit whose physical body has passed away to speak of these experiences, and it is not yet easily accepted by the public in the current Buddhist world or the Pure Land school.
Actually, this is quite natural; it is just that everyone has not had the opportunity to come into contact with this aspect of spirituality in the Buddha’s teachings, which is why they mistakenly think that the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre involves strange powers or spirit possession. This is a grave mistake. Now, in the Western Land of Dharma Nature, what I see will completely overturn your understanding of what happens to so-called great Dharma protectors after death. I hope to clarify this matter; the experience that happened to me is a mirror for practitioners in the world. This is the understanding and education of Pure Land spirituality that I have learned here in the Western Land of Dharma Nature, by kneeling and listening to the teachings of Namo Amituofo, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, and the Dharma talks and explanations by Practitioner Su.
I take this opportunity to report this to everyone.
Namo Amituofo abides here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. The Buddha’s golden light shines majestically upon this land, the sky, and the Western Land of Dharma Nature, filling the Buddha’s light here with abundant energy, allowing the immeasurable and boundless spirits who have been saved to listen to the sutras and chant the Buddha's name here with peace and stability. Moreover, the compiler of the Infinite Life Sutra (The Buddha Speaks the , Infinite Life, Adornment, Purity, Impartiality, and Sutra), Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, is also here. Everyone calls him Teacher, so I, Lim Kim Chong, also respectfully address him as Teacher.
Namo Amituofo, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, and Practitioner Su have repeatedly emphasised and taught everyone: to practise, one must change one's personality traits. If one's personality is not changed thoroughly, if it is not changed so that not even a trace remains, then one still cannot avoid the suffering of birth, aging, sickness, and death caused by the laws of and cause and effect. This is because the selfishness, ego-attachment, and the sense of 'my existence' hidden within one's personality and thoughts mean that one has not yet transformed one's karma, remains an ordinary person of karma, and must still suffer the aging, sickness, and the pain when the elements separate.
My teacher, Venerable Master Chin Kung, once repeatedly taught us: what is called Goodness is to be entirely for the sake of beings, and what is called evil is to be for the sake of oneself. In my ninety-one years of life, I dare not say that I never had an evil thought. These evil thoughts, unknowingly, became personality traits and habits, making us act and think in this way naturally. In fact, that was all wrong; I had already created evil within it and forged the sins of hell.
Although I also did many good deeds and, as a great protector of the Pure Land, it appeared on the surface that my merits were immeasurable, this could not offset the selfishness deep within my personality, nor the attachment to thinking of evil, thinking of myself, and planning for myself. These were all causes for falling into hell. In the brain-gouging hell, it is truly a place of great suffering: the brain is forcibly opened, and the brain tissue inside is pulled out while one is alive. After suffering and dying once, one is splashed with water to be revived. Then, the same torture is repeated.
I, Lim Kim Chong, can speak of these processes so freely now because I truly and sincerely thank Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su for rescuing me from hell. In an environment like the Western Land of Dharma Nature, where the Buddha’s light shines 24/7, I am able to face all of this calmly. Only then could I accept that when I was alive, my study of the Buddha’s teachings was limited to the surface of the text, or only to the suffering of birth, aging, sickness, and death in the human world that I saw before me.
Because I had some knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine, I did my best to contribute and assist in the Chinese herbal medicine world. But all these good deeds do not mean that one can be exempt from the birth, aging, sickness, and death that everyone faces; especially illness, which is truly impermanent.
At the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, I saw a key point in practice: the study of the Buddha’s teachings and the chanting of the Buddha's name in the Pure Land school, although they are people's hopes for the present life and for the spirit to enter the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss after death to gain liberation and leave suffering behind, everyone has overlooked an important matter, which is the spiritual power of ''.
That is the good karma and negative karma created over accumulated lifetimes, recorded in the without the slightest error. Although everyone cannot remember the events of past lives, it does not mean they do not exist; they all exist in the Alaya . We may have done evil in the past, even committed great sins, or we may have done good, protected the Dharma, or even been a monastic.
Ordinary people do not know the full picture of these developments in Dharma affinity in the world; at most, they can only seek a glimpse of the past from small fragments. But in fact, the causes of good and evil karma created are all clearly recorded. In this lifetime, as long as our every thought and intention touches upon past negative karma—thinking badly, having bad thoughts, looking at things poorly, speaking badly, or doing bad things—these are all reasons that trigger karma. It turns out that 'grow and achieve the fruit of Bodhi' is so important.
Because once karma is triggered, karmic creditors will manifest to seek revenge and repay grievances. At this time, even those who hold important positions in the Buddhist world are often completely unaware of the revenge from the spiritual space, knowing only that physical illness is caused by spiritual obstacles. At this time, seeking help from medicine can only treat the damage to ; there is no way to address the karmic creditors in the spiritual realm.
However, the true culprits are the karmic creditors! We do not know how many cruel things we did or how many mistakes we made in past lives. Although we may not have committed them in this lifetime, the harm and enmity created in the past still exist and have not disappeared; they are just waiting for an opportunity. When our mental note deviates slightly, they will manifest, and they have long been lurking inside our bodies, which is quite terrifying.
The body is like a vast universe, and the space and cells within it are infinite. It contains immeasurable and boundless, countless karmic creditors; the spirits of family members and sentient beings with karmic affinity from past lives are all within it. Even the spirits of each cell are beings we have come into contact with in past lives, and they present normal or abnormal division in the cellular space according to the good and evil we manifest.
And the cancer that people in the world hear about and fear is still the main cause of taking lives to this day. In fact, those malignant cells are karmic creditors from the past gathered inside, concentrating the power of a large number of beings, and are carrying out the retribution of seeking life and demanding life; this is .
These spiritual parts cannot be detected or treated by modern medicine. At the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, where Namo Amituofo abides, the 'spiritual healing' performed is the ability to dialogue with the karmic creditors causing the illness. Through the shining of the Buddha’s light and the transformation by the of Practitioner Su, the power of compassion is released to resolve the resentment, and they are sent into the Western Land of Dharma Nature to accept the of the . When the spirits of the beings are soothed, they are willing to resolve the conflict and leave the body of the karmic creditor. Through such a process, illness and suffering can be truly treated or alleviated. This is something medicine cannot do; it is finding the root of the problem through communication between humans and spirits. Under the shining of the Buddha’s light during the Dharma assembly, most beings can accept the resolution. This is also one of the methods by which Namo Amituofo, who abides at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, saves beings. The Thrice Yearning Ceremonies at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre are led by Namo Amituofo; this is truly a very special event.
This matter, I, Lim Kim Chong, see clearly in the Western Land of Dharma Nature. This set of Body-Mind-Spirit healing very clearly compensates for a major blind spot in the Pure Land practice of chanting the Buddha's name: why do many people chant the Buddha's name diligently, yet still fall seriously ill? Why do many people who are diligent in chanting the Buddha's name at the time of their passing still fail to successfully be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss?
The reason lies in personality, getting angry and giving rise to hatred, and the manifestation of karmic creditors at the time of passing, which makes people unable to defend themselves. When you cannot hold onto right , they will manifest the things you are most attached to and most concerned about in the world. At this time, if your thought slips and the chanting of the Buddha's name is interrupted, then even if Namo Amituofo is right before you, he will disappear immediately and cannot lead you onto the lotus platform. Because your pure thought has been interrupted and you cannot continue to chant the name of Namo Amituofo, your spirit then enters reincarnation.
Even if there were a large group of fellow practitioners around you chanting for you at that time, as long as the true self itself was led by karmic creditors and lost right mindfulness and pure thought, at this critical moment, the opportunity for rebirth in the Western Land is lost. Heavens! Just like that, a lifetime of effort goes down the drain; one does not reach the Western Land but is instead dragged into hell by karmic creditors to be interrogated and punished.
I, Lim Kim Chong, can now explain this process very clearly. This is a blood-and-tear fact I have exchanged with my own personal experience, and it is absolutely reliable. I hope to provide a mirror for everyone, and I hope that this letter and these words of mine can be seen by the vast number of fellow practitioners; I also hope that my family, relatives, and everyone who knows me can take this as a warning and be vigilant.
At the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, with the care and reminders of Namo Amituofo, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, Practitioner Su, and other Buddhas and teachers, everyone has suddenly realised how important it is to 'change personality traits'! Practitioner Su repeatedly emphasised this point when giving Dharma talks, and we in the Western Land of Dharma Nature heard it very clearly, but unfortunately, we have now lost our physical bodies, and it was too late to change our personalities while alive. Although I, Lim Kim Chong, was a good person in the world, I still carried a stubborn personality.
If the Causal Conditions are ripe and an epidemic arises, coupled with such karmic creditors in one's karma waiting to seek revenge, this will become a fatal blow. Once infected with an epidemic, life is often hard to preserve, or it turns into a serious illness. This all involves what was done in past lives; although one does not know it oneself, since one has encountered it, one must face it, and this is often the reason for demanding a life.
I, Lim Kim Chong, speak so clearly because I hope that through the opportunity of being interviewed at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, I can let everyone understand why many people who chant the Buddha's name suffer from serious illnesses and fail to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss as they wished. The reason lies here; never ignore the power of the spirit, and the resolution of spirituality is absolutely not superstition.
The Buddha’s teachings instruct us to use repenting and not repeating mistakes to pray that when karma manifests, this spiritual obstacle can be resolved with the karmic creditors. But everyone should ask themselves, how many people in the world can truly change their personality? Can truly not commit mistakes again? Yes, there are indeed people who can do it. But you can do it for one, two, or three things; do you have this kind of diligent practice of 'not repeating mistakes' for every single thing? Only by achieving such skills is it possible to obtain the understanding of karmic creditors.
Even for a monastic who practises, I am afraid they would not dare to guarantee that their personality has been completely changed, or that the mistakes they have made will never be repeated. As long as one repeats them, this is creating the cause for the sins of hell, and I, Lim Kim Chong, was among them back then.
Therefore, the Buddhist education and spiritual education at Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre are extremely important, because this spiritual aspect has been ignored by too many people for a long time. In fact, it is because they do not understand and have not received education in this area; even if they know a part of it, they do not understand that the situation is so serious. Precisely because Namo Amituofo is residing here, there is a way to unravel this phenomenon and conduct this kind of spiritual education and reveal the mysteries of the body. Otherwise, with people's limited vision, they would not be able to see this area at all. Including the fact that Jincong can be saved at this time, it is also because of receiving the rescue of Namo Amituofo and the ability and attainment of Practitioner Su that there is a way to escape the suffering of hell. No one knew that Jincong was suffering in hell after death; only Namo Amituofo knew, and Practitioner Su knew.
Deeply grateful to Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, and even more grateful to President Lin Zhiwei for the nomination, allowing Jincong to be sent from hell to the Western Land of Dharma Nature. President Lin Zhiwei, thank you.
Jincong has no way to repay this in this lifetime, so I am telling everyone about my personal experience and realisation here.
Namo Amituofo is truly at Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, and the lay practitioner known as "Practitioner Su" is truly an awakened being who has the ability to perform Chao Du for beings and freely travel to and from the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. However, Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre currently lacks Dharma protectors, and the world does not recognise or know the important fact that Namo Amituofo "is residing at Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre," so Jincong hopes to use all my strength to appeal to the public. Now the Namo Amitabha Buddhist Hall is about to be built to promote these precious Buddhist education and spiritual education, so that everyone can know about them. It is very necessary to have everyone's support and protection, to bring Namo Amituofo to the forefront, so that the world knows that Namo Amituofo is at Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, which is everyone's hope for rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
Let everyone know that they have the opportunity to receive spiritual healing, invite karmic creditors to resolve conflicts, and thereby avoid the fear of illness and falling into hell. But just "knowing" does not mean you will not fall into hell; you must personally practise and implement it. This is what you should do to save yourself. The Buddha cannot help you; even the dual-power method of the Pure Land school requires you to use your own power before the Buddha's power can be applied.
Regarding "faith, understanding, practice, and realisation," after having faith in the Buddha and gaining understanding, one must put it into practice to obtain the true benefits; this is an unchanging law. I hope everyone can gain some insight from the few words Jincong has said and find the true direction of practice. The most important thing is to listen to Practitioner Su's Dharma talks to understand the actual situation of the spiritual realms and help yourself to be reborn in the Western Pure Land without obstacles and be led by the Buddha.
At this time, the attainment of Practitioner Su's practice is able to lead the deceased spirits who have undergone Chao Du at Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre into the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This attainment is truly unique in the entire universe and the whole world. In the whole world, which Pure Land practitioner, practitioner, or monastic dares to say that they can directly lead a soul to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss? Practitioner Su has done it; Practitioner Su has done it. Such a fact and such a person appearing before everyone, we should really thank the Buddha for his compassion and be grateful for Practitioner Su's compassion.
Master, you are the Venerable Master Chin Kung whom everyone respects, and you are also in the Western Land of Dharma Nature. This disciple is very ashamed, as I was also rescued from hell by Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su. Grateful for your teachings, which gave Jincong's life a reliance; also grateful that Practitioner Su appeared among your disciples, so that we could be saved. Now, I am staying very peacefully in the Western Land of Dharma Nature.
I hope my family, friends, or anyone who knows Jincong can hear these words from Jincong, as this will be of great help to everyone. If Jincong were still alive, I would definitely fully support Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, Buddhist education, and spiritual healing. It can save many monastics, lay practitioners, and those with affinity for the Pure Land in many Pure Land societies and academies; this is a hope for everyone's rebirth in the Western Pure Land.
I am telling the truth; there are too many things in this world that we do not know. Please do not use your limited vision, thinking, and knowledge to speculate on the vast and incomparable Buddha’s teachings and the spiritual world, and thus lose your chance of salvation.
Grateful to Namo Amituofo, grateful to Practitioner Su, grateful to Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre.
