Interview with Yeh Shou-Chun (Former Chairman of Zig Sheng Industrial)

Yeh Shou-Chun:

Namo Amituofo, Namo Amituofo, Namo Amituofo.

These past few days, I, Yeh Shou-Chun, at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Queensland, Australia, have been chanting "Namo Amituofo" peacefully on the Western Land of Dharma Nature. Each chant represents my vow to depart and brings forth the compassion inherent in my self-nature.

I vow before Amitabha Buddha to save all boundless suffering sentient beings. I am grateful to the Buddha for saving my suffering soul from hell and bringing me to this bright, beautiful world. My destination is now set: the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.

Now, I must utilise my remaining value. I hope to call upon more industry leaders, and indeed the people of Taiwan, to support the propagation of the Dharma at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia.

What I wish to share with you all here is the antidote for "not grow old, not get sick, and the spirit does not die." I hope that all who see and hear this may gain the benefit of not growing old, not getting sick, and the spirit does not die.

This may sound like a fairy tale, but it is precisely because this slogan is so real, powerful, and clear that it highlights the magnificence of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. If there were no substance, how could we dare to take "not grow old, not get sick, and the spirit does not die" as our mission?

Indeed, I am speaking to you now from the Western Land of Dharma Nature. This is a difficult to encounter in millions of years opportunity, and now that I have encountered it, I must seize it. After all, I have never heard of anyone who, after death, still has the chance to express their thoughts so completely in this way. I am very grateful to have this bit of usefulness even after death.

Otherwise, as sad as it is to say, the fact is that even though I was a big boss and a successful entrepreneur in life, after death, I would have returned to dust, leaving nothing behind. Perhaps people would remember me, but how much influence I would still have on them is a matter that goes without saying.

After all, when a person dies, they are like dirt; who would still care about you? This is a very realistic question. Everything I built while alive became nothing after death; this is something I now understand very clearly and directly. Regardless, I must fulfil my responsibility to share my experience after death, hoping it may be of some help to you.

When I was alive, even in my old age, I insisted on going to the office. I participated in all the company's decisions, big and small. Although work was not everything in my life, it was certainly an important part. Zig Sheng Industrial condensed my life's efforts; having weathered many storms over so many years, I am very grateful that it has survived to this day.

In this life, like most people, I died of illness. Sickness is indeed an unavoidable fate in a person's life. No matter how much one does not want to get sick, it often happens without any recourse.

Many people spend their energy maintaining their bodies, not knowing that the root cause of illness is that the heart has gone astray. Because one's mental notes are contrary to the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, one attracts the karmic retribution of illness.

It turns out that understanding the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way is so important. It turns out that the root of solving all the world's suffering lies in education.

If one can truly and completely follow the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, one can truly become the "master." Being the master means one will not easily fall ill, will not have sudden, uncontrollable emotional fluctuations, and will be free from various physical and mental pains and afflictions, truly achieving a balance of Body-Mind-Spirit.

This is also what Amitabha Buddha has come to this world to teach everyone: how to truly be the master. Everyone's karma in a lifetime is actually very heavy. When aging and the suffering of illness manifest, it makes one directly feel the pain of not being able to be the master. Those who have not experienced it find it hard to understand that pain and helplessness; these experiences can even shatter a person's self-confidence.

In this life, I did not have much deep understanding of the Buddha’s teachings. I only knew that all religions must encourage people to be good, to do good deeds, and to help others, but I never knew that the Buddha’s teachings were so vast and could solve the problems of aging, sickness, and death.

After I died, I entered a space. In this space, I seemed to be at my usual workplace, discussing matters with the same people, signing documents at the same desk, or thinking about various decisions. In this space, I felt as if I were still alive, but in fact, I had already died.

I do not know how much time passed until, in the last few days, the voice of Practitioner Su rang out in this space, loudly calling my name, "Yeh Shou-Chun." I was finally pulled out of this workspace, and my soul was instantly sent to the Western Land of Dharma Nature by a power of compassion. Now, I have been reborn on the Land of Dharma Nature.

After listening to the sutras and hearing the Dharma, I finally understood that a person's thoughts are so important. If one thinks of something at the very last moment of life, one might turn into that object or enter the cellular space of someone's body. For example, if the last thought was of a tree, the soul might enter the space of a tree; if one thought of one's children, the soul might enter the cells of the children.

This is truly unimaginable! I never thought that the key to a person's life would be in their own thoughts. Therefore, starting from one's thoughts is truly important. This is also what the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre teaches everyone: to replace all one's thoughts with this phrase, "Namo Amituofo."

Because this Buddha-name represents pure and good energy, and at the same time, it is equivalent to the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. Because Amitabha Buddha followed the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way to become a Buddha, and after attaining Buddhahood, he placed all his merits into this Buddha-name, "Namo Amituofo." Now, I am chanting this Buddha-name earnestly and gratefully at every moment, because this Buddha-name can help me be the master.

So, I also urge everyone to hurry and chant this "Namo Amituofo" well.

Because the human body is very complex, on the Western Land of Dharma Nature, I clearly saw that there are countless spirits existing within a person's body. If you do not want these spirits to cause harm to your body, you must chant this Buddha-name well. Because not being able to be the master is truly too painful; only this Buddha-name can help everyone truly be the master, rather than being swept away by the flow of karma.

This is a major discovery I made on the Western Land of Dharma Nature: it turns out that karmic creditors are inside our bodies, so resolving conflicts and Chao Du are such important matters, which I never truly valued in the past. But now I understand that if one wants to be the master and not be controlled by aging and illness, one must repent for one's karmic creditors and the various negative karma created in the past.

Most importantly, one must have deep faith in the Buddha. Relying on the majestic power and compassion of Amitabha Buddha, one will be able to get through the days of aging and sickness. Believing in the Buddha and chanting the Buddha's name is so important. If there is no faith, one cannot manage a company well, let alone endure various difficult tests. I believe many successful people would agree that the most basic requirement for success is to have faith; otherwise, nothing can be achieved.

And in the matter of "wanting to be the master," faith is also a crucial point. Faith in Amitabha Buddha and faith in oneself must be very full. Among this, a true spiritual friend also plays a very important role, being able to guide and help us avoid many detours and provide great help at critical moments to help us achieve breakthroughs.

Now, Amitabha Buddha has descended to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre to bring all humanity the benefits of not grow old, not get sick, and the spirit does not die, and to help everyone be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This temple is by no means an ordinary religious institution, but a sacred place of education that truly promotes the Great Dharma. Here, the true spiritual friend Amitabha Buddha and Practitioner Su can help everyone settle their hearts on this Buddha-name and adjust their hearts to be pure and good.

A pure and good heart is so important. It turns out that as long as there is a little selfishness in the heart, it can awaken countless karmic creditors in the body. Every moment in a human body is so important, because every moment may have countless thoughts. How many of these thoughts are good and how many are bad depends on each person's mental cultivation. If they are good thoughts, they will naturally attract good retribution. If they are evil thoughts, they will naturally attract bad retribution.

If you do not want to age or get sick, you must overcome your habitual thoughts and truly change your personality to zero. On the Land of Dharma Nature, I saw what true practice is, and it is indeed very different from what I previously understood. It turns out that true practice is not for one's own liberation, but for all beings to be saved.

Practitioner Su is always working hard for all beings in his heart, which is why he can attain Buddhahood. "Working for others, not for oneself" is a very important thing, but how many people in the world are not selfish? This is indeed a piece that worldly education has neglected. It turns out that the most important thing in everyone's soul is not any achievement or external appearance in the world, but the purity of the soul.

To what extent can one's soul be pure? That will determine where one's soul goes after death. Practitioner Su at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is very compassionate and has saved the souls of many wealthy people and celebrities who died around the world to the Western Land of Dharma Nature.

I learned here that many of them went to hell after death; it should be said that almost most people entered hell, and only a few went to other places. From this, one can know that as a successful entrepreneur, it is really not an easy thing to have a good destination after death.

Because deviations in subtle places are something one cannot perceive. And as one's influence grows and the responsibilities on one's shoulders become heavier, the scope of influence becomes larger; those bits of negative influence actually return to one's own soul, and one pays the price oneself. This is a very realistic problem.

Now, the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is building the Namo Amitabha Buddhist Hall. The scale and design of this hall are very magnificent; it is a design drawing created by the designer of the spiritual realms, the temple's teacher, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, and the Venerable in the human world working together. This design drawing can be seen on the website of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre; you can search for it. After seeing it, I believe you will feel very amazed and filled with Dharma joy.

Indeed, building the Namo Amitabha Buddhist Hall is necessary. There are too many people in the world suffering from aging and illness who do not know how to escape suffering, and many have even given up looking for the antidote to aging and illness, thinking that this is a normal process that everyone must go through.

However, everyone does not know that most people who are sick do not have a good destination after death. Physical changes represent damage to the soul and also indicate that one's thoughts and actions have deviated significantly from the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. If one had not created negative karma, how could one get sick?

Purity and goodness are the best protective umbrella for one's Body-Mind-Spirit. Conversely, once one is sick, there must be many deviations; this is a serious problem that everyone must be aware of.

There are too many people who need to come to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre to find the antidote for "not grow old, not get sick, and the spirit does not die." This is the only temple in the world that can bring everyone the benefit of not grow old, not get sick, and the spirit does not die; no other place can do this.

The future of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre will be crowded, and people will flock in like a tidal wave. Because when everyone truly starts to get sick and knows that they do not have to age, do not have to get sick, and even do not have to die, and can have a completely different human outcome, how could they miss such an opportunity?

Therefore, the construction of the Namo Amitabha Buddhist Hall and the headquarters of the Pure Land school is imperative, which requires the support of the good power from the ten directions. Such an opportunity is truly once-in-a-thousand-years. If I were still alive, I would definitely use all my assets to support the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre and support the construction of the temple.

Because what this temple can help is not limited to a certain country or region, but can help all humanity on Earth to be liberated from the pain of their Body-Mind-Spirit.

I am very interested in participating in such a magnificent undertaking. After all, no matter how much money a person has, they cannot actually use much of it for themselves. If one does not know how to perform good deeds, accumulate virtues, and cultivate blessings, then no amount of wealth will last forever. This is the best investment in the world, and an unprecedented opportunity for all wealthy entrepreneurs or rich people to truly make good use of their assets, rather than using them for various worldly purposes that only lead to the creation of negative karma.

Everyone must understand one thing: Namo Amituofo has come to this world not only to save the humans on Earth but also to save the countless, immeasurable spirits across the entire Dharma Realm, empty space, the Milky Way, the universe, and the heavens beyond heavens.

In other words, the number of beings that the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre can help is countless, pervading the vastness of the Dharma Realm. It is countless billions upon billions, trillions upon trillions; it is truly too many to count.

This means that every bit invested in the Dharma-spreading undertaking of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre can help an immeasurable and boundless number of beings. I believe that you shrewd entrepreneurs should know how to make the right choice regarding such a return on investment. Giving up tangible assets to gain endless Dharma-wealth and merit, and even exchanging them for greater glory and prosperity in future lives, is entirely possible.

Regardless, the key lies in the heart. When giving, is there any expectation in your heart? If there is, the merit gained will be relatively limited, and you will receive more in the way of blessings. Blessings can only allow you to have more wealth or better interpersonal relationships in the future; these are merely manifestations of blessings. If you give without attachment, truly believing that this is your responsibility and something you should contribute, then you will gain endless Dharma-wealth and merit.

If you can achieve this, I believe you will certainly attain Buddhahood. By then, I will congratulate the world for having another physical-body Buddha like Practitioner Su, capable of saving all boundless suffering sentient beings.

The word "wealth" makes so many people flock to it, and how many have created negative karma for the sake of wealth? Even entrepreneurs who consider themselves to be operating righteously find it difficult to avoid creating negative karma in the process of developing their businesses.

This is because the subtle aspects of the laws of karma and cause and effect are calculated from every single thought. This is not an exaggeration or being overly strict; it is simply how the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way are. Therefore, everything must return to the education of the Buddha’s teachings.

The next generation is very important to Taiwan, and I believe everyone can agree on this. But as for your own children, how much of them truly belongs to themselves? To put it more clearly, within the child's body, is the soul truly in control, or has it been occupied by other spirits?

This is a question that no one has ever thought about. In the Dharma-Nature Land, I saw that for each of us, this body only has the right of use, not the right of ownership. In other words, do not ever think that because you have obtained this body in this life, it will always be yours. In fact, this is not the case. If a thought is incorrect, if a selfish mental note goes against the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, it can awaken the karmic creditors within the body, or allow external spirits to enter the body, causing you to lose control and the right to use your own body.

This is a problem that everyone must take seriously. We must quickly and urgently promote the Buddha’s teachings of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre to the whole world.

Therefore, there are two main things I would like to call upon everyone to do here: I hope you can quickly participate in the construction of the Pure Land Sect headquarters and the Namo Amitabha Buddhist Hall. Any support for the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is good; if you can truly set your heart to it, you are a person of wisdom; if you cannot believe it, I can only say that your blessings are not yet sufficient.

Regardless, the connected sentient beings that Namo Amituofo saves upon coming to this world are immeasurable and boundless, because the Buddha’s Dharma affinity pervades the vastness of the Dharma Realm. Therefore, the return you will receive from investing in the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre will also pervade the vastness of the Dharma Realm; immeasurable and boundless beings are now waiting for Namo Amituofo to save them, and the efforts of Namo Amituofo’s salvation team are indispensable.

Here, I hope everyone can respond to the cries for help from the countless suffering spirits throughout the vastness of the Dharma Realm. When you respond to the vastness of the Dharma Realm, and respond to the entire universe, the entire universe will also respond to you at some point in the future. When you respond to the suffering of the entire universe, the entire universe will also respond to you when you encounter difficulties one day. This is the principle of the Law of Cause and Effect.

The second thing I would like to appeal to everyone about is to hope that you will immediately use your resources, connections, or various other methods to help the Dharma-spreading undertaking of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. The specific goal is to allow more people to have the opportunity to see the website of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, to carefully read the articles within, and to have a basic understanding of what the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is doing. If you can go a step further, it is to help more people hear the sutras lectured by Practitioner Su.

The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is a true precious land, now just waiting for the Causal Conditions to mature so that more people with karmic affinity can come to know it. The act of saving the world brooks no delay; everyone must seize the opportunity to participate quickly. You must remember that the entire Dharma Realm and empty space are actually one entity; saving sentient beings is actually saving yourself.

Alright, I am very grateful to everyone for sparing your precious time to listen to me, Ye Shou-Tun, say so much. I have been in the Dharma-Nature Land of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre for about three days. Actually, I cannot yet clearly describe the magnificence and preciousness of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre; however, based on what I have seen, I have tried my best to report to everyone, hoping that you can have some understanding.
