Interview with Zhao Xuehuang (Veteran Taiwanese Actor)

Zhao Xuehuang:

My name is Zhao Xuehuang, and I have now received an invitation from the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia to accept this interview. This is truly the most special interview, because I am accepting it as a spirit, communicating heart-to-heart with the people at the temple.

I am now in the Western Land of Dharma Nature, and my heart is very peaceful and serene. Oh, there is no longer any of the suffering from illness that I had before! Having walked through this life, I have come to understand the truth of the impermanence of birth, aging, sickness, and death. Moreover, the word "sickness" is truly profound to me. I was an actor, but to be honest, I lived to be seventy, and for a very long period of my life, I was unable to be my own master.

I spent nearly twenty-six years in paralysis. When I was forty-three, a car accident left my lower body completely immobile. This long life was truly agonizing; if it were not for the careful care and companionship of my family, I would have had no way to continue living.

But now, having arrived in the Western Land of Dharma Nature, I have come to know that the human body is extremely precious. As long as one has a breath, one must do one's utmost to cherish this human body, just as Practitioner Su does. While cherishing the body, one must also let go of everything related to the body in order to learn the Buddha's skills. I have realised here that the Buddha's skills are so wonderful; without learning the Buddha's skills, one has no way to save people—this is the truth. Only by learning the Buddha's skills, like Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, can people in the world stop suffering, truly attain ultimate and perfect liberation, freely travel to and from the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, and be free from aging and sickness! This is truly a wonderful thing, especially being free from sickness, which is simply too important to me.

I am someone who was sick for most of my life, and now I look back on my own life. Honestly, I have listened to many previous interviews, and what I have to say is much the same as theirs. As an actor, because I did not follow the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way in this life, I fell into the hells to suffer retribution. My personality was not good, and I had my own arrogance and selfishness. But as an actor, this was perhaps one of the most significant reasons why I fell into the hells to suffer retribution.

As an actor, it is truly not easy to escape the suffering of the hells. Everything that everyone performs on screen—sometimes playing a righteous character, sometimes a villain, and sometimes even having to perform plots involving sowing discord and harming others. The negative karma created over these years is truly significant! Not to mention that I acted in many Qiong Yao series films back then.

Everyone knows Qiong Yao, right? She has also arrived in the Western Land of Dharma Nature now. She also went to the hells before and lived a very miserable life. Just like the influence her life had on people's thoughts, it was based on emotion, using various ways of indulging emotions in the heart and seriously misleading human hearts through male-female relationships, which she presented to the world through her works. And there are quite a few television dramas I participated in among those works! This means that I actually participated in this television series that seriously violated the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.

Speaking of it, it is truly so. Without Buddhist education, how could I have known that acting would create negative karma? It is not that because I played a bad person in a drama, I am a bad person, but everything I performed in the drama would not only leave an impression in people's hearts, but might also cause people to imitate the characters I played or generate various evil thoughts. All of this is the reason for creating so much negative karma!

I finally understand everything that Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su have said. I am also very actively listening to sutras and hearing the Dharma in the Western Land of Dharma Nature, wanting to understand the truth of the universe. The Buddha's teachings explain all of this very thoroughly; because it influences human hearts, this is something that must not be done. It is precisely because of this that I fell into the heart-gouging hell, suffering great bitter fruit. My heart was constantly bleeding, often being gouged out and thrown on the ground; after dying and being reborn, the heart would be gouged out again, repeatedly suffering and cycling endlessly. All this pain has finally ended. It is precisely because of the Buddha's compassion that we beings can finally stop suffering this pain. I come from the hells, and there are many beings who, like me, have come from the hells.

Therefore, learning the Buddha's teachings is truly important. Before everyone understands the truth of the facts, it is very easy to make many mistakes, giving the world wrong values, wrong teachings, and examples, especially when presented through film and television works; the retribution is even greater. These film and television works can still be easily seen on the internet today, which means there are countless people who may, because of watching these films we shot, have their hearts become evil, become more selfish, indulgent, and emotionally promiscuous; or it may affect their character, making them uneasy, unbalanced, and easily entering space is also one of the items.

Therefore, I advise people in the world here, especially those of us in the film and television industry, to stop early and withdraw; do not continue to engage in such an industry. This not only greatly lowers one's own spiritual quality but also destroys the body of this life. This body is so precious; it should be used to awaken and attain Buddhahood! Only then can one save people like Practitioner Su. But we are not like that; our hearts are covered with layers of pollution, and from the process of filming to the end, various kinds of bad thoughts were generated. Not to mention that after these television dramas were officially aired, they influenced the hearts of a generation!

I am very repentant in my heart, knowing that my behavior was incorrect. Before, I did not have much feeling about it, thinking that this was just my career, something I was good at, and my livelihood, so everything seemed very reasonable.

Now I tell everyone, it is not like that. Everyone must believe what I am saying now. If one does not follow the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, most of what people do, or influencing others through various behaviours, causing harm to others' Body-Mind-Spirit, these are all things that must not be done. We did not understand before; we did not learn the Buddha's teachings! Now that we have learned the Buddha's teachings, we must vigorously tell the world about this. Education on the laws of karma and cause and effect is extremely important. Everyone must establish the roots of cause and effect from a young age so that they will not suffer huge bitter retribution later; and even more so, they will not further influence the next generation of children, letting them continue to suffer deeper pain.

Children today can be said to be worse than the previous generation. This is also because of the development of technology, which allows all information to spread very quickly. As the saying goes, "Good deeds do not go out, but bad deeds spread a thousand miles." People do not promote good things, but instead promote bad things. Do you think it is possible for the human heart to turn towards Goodness?

I see my own life very clearly here, and I see the inner hearts of people in the world clearly. This is precisely the high Wisdom and high energy brought to us by Namo Amituofo; after purification, everyone inherently possesses this instinct. It is not just existing as a spirit; in fact, we can all see it so thoroughly and clearly.

Honestly, in many of the films I shot, I was not the one in charge. When I started to have evil thoughts, came into contact with these bad works, or gradually developed greed in my heart, wanting to make my career develop better, during this whole process, my whole body attracted beings, especially demon crowds, who interfered with my thinking. With the interference of the demon crowds, everything became extremely difficult to bear and became a very terrifying thing.

Demon crowds not only influenced me but also influenced all the people who watched the television dramas I participated in filming. Therefore, the demon crowds would control the plot of every television drama, control everything that people expressed in film and television works, making people deeply trapped and unable to extricate themselves, or generating bad influences and having wrong values.

Not to mention that I also participated in Qiong Yao's television dramas. Although most of the characters I played were righteous, there were always both righteous and villainous characters in the dramas. Whether righteous or villainous, as long as one participated in the production of this television drama, the cause and effect could not be escaped. Everyone must be very careful. The Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way mean truly thinking for everyone, especially for the physical, mental, and spiritual health of others; only then will one not violate the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. If everything one does influences others and also influences one's own heart, making one's body and mind suffer pollution, this itself is an act of creating great negative karma.

The suffering of the hells has finally ended, and I have finally seen the truth of all these facts. I want to tell people all over the world that they must know about the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. People who have not received Buddhist education are very easy to go astray because they do not understand the truth of the facts and create a lot of negative karma.

There are six of us accepting this interview today, and everyone has such experiences to share with everyone. This is truly a very magnificent Causal Condition. Therefore, I am also full of gratitude, grateful to Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su for establishing the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss and the Western Land of Dharma Nature. Having these Buddha lands to settle us allows us beings to have a place to go, so we will not suffer endless retribution and have no chance of liberation because of creating negative karma.

Now I am very well settled by the Buddha's compassion in the Western Land of Dharma Nature, living a very joyful life. I hope my family can know my current state of mind, know that I am doing very well now, and not worry about me. Now I also want to share my great blessings with everyone, hoping that everyone can truly learn the Buddha's teachings so that they can avoid the suffering of reincarnation.

These are all very important treasures in the human world and should be vigorously promoted.

We Taiwanese are actually very blessed. We can have great freedom to learn the Buddha's teachings and also have a very deep background in Buddhist studies. It is just that everything everyone learns today is not the true Buddha's teachings, and there is no such thing as a Buddha coming to the world to save beings. Only at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, because Practitioner Su has long since awakened and attained Buddhahood, can one induce Namo Amituofo to come to the world. I hope everyone can learn from Practitioner Su's spirit from this very great event, sincerely think for everyone, and not walk my old path; this is the most important thing.
