Amitabha Buddha's discourse:

In the Seven-Jewel Pond of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss,

the "ground is paved with golden sand." The pond water is so pure that one can see the golden sand at the bottom.

And the golden light from the bottom reflects onto the surface, and the surface reflects this golden light,

which shines brilliantly in harmony with the Buddha-light above the water.

The surface is covered with various dignified Western Lotuses.

Each lotus has a different name and colour, and all emit a golden light.

The pond water is "pure as if formless," so clear that it seems to exist yet not exist.

And the water temperature adjusts to one's heart and mind, becoming cool or warm as desired.

The water surface varies in height,

forming a bright and pleasing to the eye scene of "Precious Sands Reflecting Clarity."

This is a scene from the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, not something visible in the human world.

If a being of the Western Land or a practitioner who chants Buddha's name takes in this pleasing scene,

a heart of praise will naturally arise. By chanting the Holy Name "Namo Amituofo,"

and through the power of sincere chanting and the merit of the Buddha-name,

in the support of the two forces of self-power and Buddha-power, spiritual progress is guaranteed to grow.

This is Amitabha's "skillful means,"

allowing beings of the Western Land to invoke the Buddha-name everywhere, so that a sincere heart is revealed at all times.

Every moment is a time of practice,

and in this naturally dignified environment of ultimate bliss, one never departs from the wonderful Dharma of practice.

Therefore, every part of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss is a manifestation of Amitabha's vows,

appearing in the actual living environment of the beings of the Western Land.

If a Pure Land practitioner wishes for their practice to bear fruit early,

they should keep the Buddha in their heart at all times; what they see is the Buddha, and what they contemplate is the Buddha.

This is to be 24/7 never apart from Amitabha Buddha.

Furthermore, always keep gratitude, joy, and praise in your heart to purify your true self,

let your heart manifest beauty and dignity,

so that you may soon become an awakened being and accomplish the Buddha-land within your true self.
