Leaping Forward: Teachings from Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju

On this day, the eighth of February, 2025, during the first session of the Thrice Yearning Ceremony, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju offered these vital teachings:

The Urgency of Spiritual Advancement

What is it that you must leap forward to achieve? Namo Amituofo is truly present here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. The fourfold assembly (monks, nuns, laymen, laywomen) must cherish this rare and precious opportunity. You must put down all worldly ties and seek only one thing: rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss within this very life.

You must realise that this life is your final opportunity. It is not enough to simply speak of the path; you must truly practise it. Only through genuine, diligent practice can you generate the power needed to leap forward and transform your current situation. Namo Amituofo is here at Hsiang Kuang, waiting for your sincere commitment.

The Courage to Seek the Dharma

To seek the Dharma and deepen your practice, you require both boldness and unwavering determination. If you are able to leap forward, you will gain the benefits of the Dharma and make significant progress in your cultivation. You must continue to purify your heart and advance steadily along the path. You must also act quickly to change your personality traits; do not delay any longer. Only by realising your true nature as an awakened being is there hope for ultimate liberation.

The Radiance of Namo Amituofo

In these moments, remain silent and focus solely on chanting Namo Amituofo. As you do, an endless stream of energy will arise within you. If you engage in idle talk or gossip, you generate negative energy. Do not spread such negativity to others, as it creates karma and interferes with the practice of your fellow beings. Infinite light is before your eyes, illuminating the entire earth and all of space.

• Sentient beings receive this light energy.
• They leap forward into the golden light.
• They leave behind the heavy, layered suffering of their respective realms.
• They travel quickly to the Buddha-land of Infinite Light.

This is the time to leave suffering behind and find happiness through the grace of the Buddha.

The Deliverance of All Beings

Namo Amituofo is here at Hsiang Kuang. Beings from this world and others, including the demon crowds, are all connected by karmic affinity. For billions of years, they have been unable to be saved or to transform their demonic bodies. Now, with Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su present, the Twelve Lights shine endlessly. Through countless manifestations, the demon crowds are subdued. They leap forward into the Dharma-land, shedding their demonic forms to see the light. Finally, they stop their evil deeds, return to their original state, and their Goodness appears with a smile.

Namo Amituofo
