The Nature of Individual Existence

Teachings from Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, recorded and transcribed by Namo Amituofo’s disciple, Venerable HaiZe, on March 21, 2026. Sentient beings and non-sentient beings each exist as individual entities. Because our mental note differs, we fall into various categories and states of existence. This is a natural manifestation of our internal states. The four modes of birth—from the womb, from eggs, from moisture, and through transformation—are not the result of human intervention or external force. Everything we experience is self-created. We must bear the consequences ourselves; no one else can take them on for us.

The Power of Transformation

If you can transform, do so with haste. You must turn your confusion into clarity, your lethargy into an awakened state, your delusions into pure, your discriminations into equality, and your attachment into the arising of true . If you can make this shift, there is hope for liberation. If you recognise your faults but fail to correct them, you remain turning in place, and you will continue to suffer the consequences of your actions. The negative you have created must be borne by you alone. No one can substitute for you.

The Inescapable Law of Cause and Effect

In the Buddha’s gate, this truth is made clear. I tell you all now: you must awaken and cease wandering down the wrong paths. No one can bear the suffering of birth, aging, sickness, and death for you. You must take responsibility for your own life. The causes you have sown will inevitably yield their fruits. The great matter of life and death has been a concern for countless generations. Throughout history, many ancestral masters and venerable masters, along with scholars, have sought to break through this cycle. They wished to end this suffering, yet because they could not find the right path, they ultimately fell back into the cycle of being reincarnated.

The Path to Liberation

Now, you have encountered . Amitabha Buddha treats you with sincerity and truth. He tells you clearly: everything is borne by yourself; no one can substitute for you. This applies to both suffering and happiness. I counsel you all: do not commit any evil, and diligently practise all Goodness. I counsel you to focus on pure karma. The best way to cut off negative karma and increase your good roots is to chant one Buddha's name to the end. Keep your mental note continuous and uninterrupted. This is the surest way to leave suffering behind and find happiness. Namo Amituofo.
