Amitabha Buddha's discourse:
'Illusory' means like a phantom.
'Observing the as Illusory' means to use Wisdom (Prajna) to observe that all laws of the world are like illusions.
Why are they called illusory?
Because they lack a true self / self-nature, do not exist eternally, and are phenomena of arising and ceasing due to Causal Conditions.
Buddhas and Bodhisattvas manifest in the world, skilled in observing the person’s potential and the circumstances of people, matters, objects, and environments at that time,
skillfully using the laws of the world, acting naturally to achieve the purpose of teaching and saving beings.
Within the ten directions, including beings of the six paths in the worldly realm, all exist within the arising and ceasing of Causal Conditions, forming the phenomena of being reincarnated and the six realms of existence; this is the true reality of all laws of the world.
In this truth, beings are in an illusory state, so the laws of the world used by Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, patriarchs and venerable masters, Those who have realised their true nature, and good teachers are also illusory, used to teach and save beings within the illusion.
If one helps beings find their true self / self-nature and complete the Buddha's path, the purpose of 'finding the truth within the illusion' is achieved.
This principle is like 'True Cultivation'.
The false body is a phenomenon of arising and ceasing, an illusory phenomenon.
It is through this false body that one practices to find the true, eternal true self / self-nature.
Just as it is said: 'All conditioned phenomena are like dreams, illusions, bubbles, shadows; like dew and like lightning; thus should one observe them.'
'Observing the Dharma as Illusory' uses words to express the meaning of the Dharma, helping practitioners understand the truth,
not to be attached to the people, matters, objects, and environments before one's eyes, but to personally verify it, find the true self / self-nature, and obtain true benefits of the Dharma.
