As you walk the path of life, it is essential that you first clearly recognise the direction in which you are heading. There are only two paths before you: the old, familiar road of samsara, or the path leading to the of Ultimate Bliss. You must choose one of these two directions to follow. Most people spend their lives wandering within the cycle of rebirth. However, once you have heard the and come to understand the greatness of and the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, you should naturally aspire to turn away from the cycle of rebirth and enter the Western Pure Land.
The Foundation of Unwavering Faith
If you truly wish to journey toward the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, you must maintain your focus throughout the process. Regardless of your gender, age, social status, or the roles you play in this world, you will inevitably encounter various difficulties and challenges. To overcome these, you must cultivate the following:
Firm Faith in the Buddha: You must hold a steadfast belief in the Buddha and the magnificent, inconceivable merits of the Buddha-name.
Trust in the Pure Land: You must place your complete trust in Namo Amituofo and the existence of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
A Sincere Vow: You must sincerely aspire to chant the Buddha-name and achieve rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
Purification of the Spirit: You must firmly believe that the Buddha-name has the power to purify your body, heart, and spirit, and you must strive to maintain the continuous chanting of the Buddha's name.
If you choose to follow the old road of samsara, your body, heart, and spirit will simply continue to be driven by your past karmic actions. However, if you choose the path to the Western Pure Land, then the practice of chanting the Buddha's name becomes an essential daily lesson. You must ensure that your vow remains firm and does not retreat, so that when the time of your passing arrives, your heart will not be confused or led astray.
The True Self as Master
If the true self within this body can take charge, then the physical body can act in accordance with the intentions of that true self. You must understand that as long as there is still a single breath remaining in your body, your true self is still present. At the moment of your passing, you must ensure that your chanting of the Buddha's name remains continuous and uninterrupted. You must continue this until you see the Buddha and your spirit is led by Namo Amituofo into the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Even then, you must continue to chant; the Buddha-name must never be interrupted.
A Rare Opportunity at Hsiang Kuang
In this lifetime, you have been fortunate enough to hear the Dharma and encounter Namo Amituofo at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, located in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. This is a rare and precious opportunity to enter the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This is your great direction and your ultimate goal. By recognising this direction and practising at the temple, you should engage in the following with diligent practice:
Chanting the Buddha's name: Keep the name of Namo Amituofo in your heart at all times.
Prostrations: Bow to the Buddha with a sincere and humble heart.
Reciting the Sutras: Study the teachings to deepen your understanding and wisdom.
Move forward directly and without hesitation. By doing so, you will reach your goal—either by realising your true nature or by successfully entering the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss—and you will not have lived your time at Hsiang Kuang in vain. Namo Amituofo.
