Interview with Zhang Cunhao (Father of China's High-Energy Chemical Laser)
When we speak of saving countless suffering beings, we must understand that this mission is not limited to those we perceive outside of ourselves. The beings who require our compassion and guidance are far more numerous than our physical eyes can see. They include the countless cells within our own bodies, the innumerable who have followed us through lifetimes, the attached spirits who seek relief, the demon crowds, and even our own family members, relatives, and friends in this current life. All of these beings are included within the scope of our vow to save.
In truth, beings are present everywhere; there is no place where they do not exist. They fill the entirety of space. Within the vast expanse of the universe, there are countless dimensions, each inhabited by countless beings. It is only because our physical eyes are limited that we cannot perceive them. Among these vast multitudes, there are many who share a deep karmic affinity with us. Regardless of who they are, they have been trapped within the six realms of existence for accumulated lifetimes. They have never had the opportunity to leave the cycle of rebirth or to achieve liberation from the sufferings of birth, aging, sickness, and death. They remain trapped as beings of , suffering through the endless agonies of samsara.
In this present life, because of their karmic affinity with the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, these beings have finally gained the precious opportunity to be saved, to leave the cycle of rebirth, and to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. However, this salvation depends entirely upon the fourfold assembly of disciples here. It requires you to arouse your mind and engage in diligent practice so that you may achieve success in your cultivation.

When a practitioner of the Great Vehicle walks the path of the , they vow to seek the Buddha's path above and to save all beings below. One must arouse the Bodhi mind to have any hope of attaining Buddhahood. The Bodhi mind is the true heart; it is the heart of a Buddha. It is the heart that vows to achieve one's own liberation while simultaneously saving countless suffering beings. It is the heart that vows to be fiercely diligent in seeking .
This vow to realise one's true nature and attain Buddhahood can be fulfilled here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, a sacred Buddha-land where Namo Amituofo truly abides.
