The Ancient Demon’s Awakening
An Interview with Mo He, a Primordial Demon of the Dharma Realm
Recorded on March 16, 2026
This is a record of an interview with Mo He, an ancient demon from the Realm who has existed for six billion trillion years. He sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia and now resides in the Western Land of Dharma Nature. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fa Hui, on March 16, 2026.
Mo He speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. The term 'saving the world' is truly alien to us in the demon realms. We enter the demon path because we possess such strong 'personalities.' And what is this personality? It is nothing but harm—harm to ourselves and harm to all other sentient beings. In the ecosystem of the demon realms, everyone understands that once you enter, you only create more negative . We do not help beings; we continuously inflict suffering upon them. In fact, the more widespread our 'demonic deeds' are, and the greater the impact of our destruction, the more our demonic power grows. It is a vicious cycle, wouldn't you agree?
The Wisdom of Survival
However, within the vast expanse of the demon realms, there are many beings who possess great wisdom. These demons have a deeper understanding of the natural laws that govern the universe compared to their peers. Specifically, even while they are busy creating negative karma, they are capable of seeing the manifestation of . They allow a sliver of goodness to exist within their actions. It is precisely because of this that such demons can survive for much longer. This is the very reason why I, Mo He, have been able to maintain my spiritual life for six billion trillion years.
Let me give you an example: when some demons perform their dark deeds, they do not go for total extermination. Instead, they leave a glimmer of hope for their victims. That single thought of goodness might just prevent them from being immediately consumed by the laws of karma and cause and effect. It gives them the chance to grow into ancient demons, old demons, or even a primordial demon like myself. So, you see, any demon who has lived as long as I have—six billion trillion years—has certainly had experience with 'doing good' within the demon realm. It is impossible that we have never done a single good deed. That is how we avoid being dragged away to face retribution and how we manage to stay in the demon realm for so long.
The Path to Transformation
From my perspective, any demon who can manage to promote goodness to their descendants, show respect to those who are pure and kind, or uphold the principle of not attacking planets of light, will always survive longer in the demon realm. In the end, for all demons, the final destination is to enter a deep meditative state within some space. If you do not enter this state, you will inevitably be pulled away by the laws of karma to face your retribution. I have always believed that in an environment as harsh as the demon realm, if you can still hold onto a heart of goodness, a good thought, or a good deed, that goodness is far more precious than the same act performed in the human world! If we can live long enough and continue to exist in that meditative state, as long as our spiritual life does not wither, I believe that one day we will encounter the opportunity to be reborn. The difference between me and many other demons is that I truly believed, deep down, that I would one day escape the demon realm.
That opportunity finally arrived recently. Practitioner Su of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia began a massive in mainland China. He used the to sweep through the spaces of every province in China. Many demons were sent into the Western Land of Dharma Nature, and countless ancient demons and old demons who had been in deep meditative states in the deepest dimensions were suddenly awakened. Whether they were subdued after leading their demon children and grandchildren to attack Practitioner Su, or whether they voluntarily sought refuge, they all eventually gained rebirth in the Land of Dharma Nature and welcomed a new life. It is a place of pure light. I have learned here in the Land of Dharma Nature that as long as you chant 'Namo Amituofo,' you can be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.
A Change of Form
In the Land of Dharma Nature, I have observed the process of Practitioner Su’s Chao Du. The number of demons he has saved is immeasurable—truly beyond words! All of these beings, just like me, are now sitting on lotus seats in the Western Land of Dharma Nature, listening to the sutras and hearing the Dharma. They no longer look hideous or bizarre; they are no longer covered in black, wearing those dark cloaks. Now, everyone has changed into pure, clean clothing—many are wearing white robes. Wow, what a transformation! Only the power of the Buddha’s teachings and the compassionate power of Namo Amituofo could bring about such a change in us demons. This is all thanks to Practitioner Su manifesting in a human body on Earth to become a Buddha, and coordinating perfectly with Namo Amituofo in the spiritual realms. For us in the demon realm, the cooperation between these two Buddhas is an opportunity that is difficult to encounter even in millions of years. It is a pity that many demons still do not recognise this precious chance and continue to attack Practitioner Su. My heart aches for them.
The Demon’s Territory
My own sphere of influence was primarily located in the Heilongjiang and Jilin provinces. As a primordial demon of the Dharma Realm with six billion trillion years of history, I led many demon kings, demon children, and demon grandchildren. Even many ancient and old demons followed me. We came to China together to 'share the cake,' because we knew that under the right causal conditions, this land offered many opportunities for us to exert our influence.
In truth, for demons of the Dharma Realm, establishing our demon dens or bases—or perhaps we should call them 'demon palaces'—anywhere on Earth is a venture with only benefits and no drawbacks. Compared to the Dharma Realm, we found that the demon nature of humans on Earth is incredibly strong, making this a very easy planet to control. In China, under the current trends, the Buddha’s teachings are effectively isolated. In such a state, almost everyone in China is a target for us to control. This allows our demonic power to grow exponentially, making it effortless to achieve our goal of controlling humanity. Wow! For us, this represents an endless source of energy!
The Call of the Light
Perhaps some of you might wonder: 'There are so many planets in the Dharma Realm; are there no demon-natured planets there? Why abandon the demon work of attacking planets in the Dharma Realm to lead a massive army of demon kings, children, grandchildren, and ancient demons from so far away to control humans in Jilin and Heilongjiang? Is it worth it?' Actually, for demons, if there is no profit to be made, why would we do it? For a primordial demon like me, with six billion trillion years of experience, that would be impossible.
Back then, I was in a deep meditative state, immersed in the deepest, darkest space. I was meditating inside the stone of a planet when, suddenly, I felt something. I was awakened by a burst of light—it was the twelve lights radiating from Practitioner Su during his Chao Du in the Dharma Realm! Even now, when I recall that first encounter with Practitioner Su, I cannot help but smile. At the time, I sensed this pure, clear energy—a high-quality energy that only a Buddha could possess. As expected, after I woke up and made some inquiries, I discovered that it was Practitioner Su, a person who had already realised his true nature and attained Buddhahood at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia.
Practitioner Su has been sweeping through the Earth, the universe, the Milky Way, the heavens beyond the heavens, the heterodox paths, the alien spaces, and even the vastness of the Dharma Realm, powerfully clearing out us demons. What is his ultimate goal? Many demons say that Practitioner Su wants to exterminate us, using power we cannot resist to make our numbers dwindle. They fear that if this continues, the demon realm will perish and we will have no space left to survive. Those demons who were 'sucked away' by Practitioner Su—where did they go? Are they facing retribution? Many demons are terrified. After all, for us, being consumed by the karmic laws of the universe is our greatest fear. Otherwise, why would we, these powerful ancient and old demons, have entered into deep meditative states in the first place?
After hearing this, I actually already had the answer in my heart. Because if Practitioner Su is truly a Buddha, then everything he does and thinks must be for the benefit of all sentient beings. To a Buddha, demons are no different from any other being; we are all equal. This is what I have learned about Buddhas during my six billion trillion years in the demon realm. I have encountered a Buddha before! Back then, although I did not surrender, I could clearly feel that the Buddha was so compassionate—just as the sutras say, the Buddha is the compassionate father of all spirits. To a Buddha, we demons are merely lost children. However, I missed that opportunity back then, and I never encountered a Buddha again. This shows that in the long river of my six billion trillion years of spiritual life, I have only encountered a Buddha twice—once in the past, and now, with Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su. I finally understand that encountering a Buddha is truly an opportunity that is difficult to encounter even in millions of years. We really should seize it!
Because I personally experienced and felt that intense, warm, and compassionate clear light, I deeply believe, just as the other ancient demons, old demons, demon kings, and their descendants have said, that Practitioner Su is indeed a Buddha. I believe that these great actions of Practitioner Su must have their reasons, and it is not the harm that our demon realm misunderstood it to be. Therefore, I felt no terror or fear in my heart, nor any anger. Instead, I felt a deep, hidden anticipation and . I believe this is the opportunity to escape the demon realm that I have been waiting for all this time. Namo Amituofo."
And so, I travelled to Earth all by myself to investigate. What kind of place is this Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, that it could nurture a Buddha like Practitioner Su, who is so famous throughout our Dharma Realm? Wow! The first time I arrived at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, I saw from afar the towering figure of Namo Amituofo, radiating magnificent golden light, standing high above the four hundred acres of the temple grounds. It was truly an immense, vast expanse of golden light! From a distance, it looked just like a golden orb of light. Such a spectacular sight truly broadened this demon's horizons—this was undeniably a Buddha! I also saw Practitioner Su using his countless manifestations to subdue the immeasurable and boundless demon crowds who had come to the temple seeking Spiritual Deliverance, guiding them all into the Western Land of Dharma Nature. At that moment, for me, there were no more questions. Although I did not know exactly where they had disappeared to, seeing the colossal Namo Amituofo in the sky and the immeasurable golden light, what else was there to doubt? They had certainly been saved by the Buddha. Regardless of how or where they were saved, it was absolutely a hundred, a thousand, ten thousand times better than being in the Demon Realm.
The Decision to Descend
Because I knew deep down that in the Demon Realm, we have only one fate: to be pulled away by the power of cause and effect to undergo retribution. Wow, that is truly, truly agonising! Now that these two Buddhas have appeared in the world to save the demon crowds of all realms, we have the chance to avoid that destiny. After confirming the situation, my heart was filled with Dharma joy. I immediately returned to the Dharma Realm to summon the ancient demons, old demons, and demon children and grandchildren who followed my lineage. I told them that in the distant solar system, I had discovered the planet Earth. On this planet, our demon power would be able to grow significantly, and everyone would have the opportunity for a breakthrough and to reach a higher level.
The ancient demons, old demons, and their descendants were all very surprised, yet also very joyful. They knew that I, the old demon, do not speak lightly; once I speak, it is always the truth. Naturally, they had to listen to my words. So, everyone was very happy to follow me to the land of mainland China. At that time, we chose Heilongjiang and Jilin provinces. Compared to cities like Beijing, the density of demon crowds in Heilongjiang and Jilin was slightly lower. I felt that such an environment would be easier to develop.
A Responsibility to the Juniors
In truth, what I was thinking was that I wanted to take this opportunity to allow the old demons, ancient demons, demon kings, and their descendants who had followed me in the past to all go to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia to seek refuge. As the ancestor of our lineage, I have always felt a sense of responsibility toward these juniors who follow me. However, at the time, if I had directly told everyone to seek refuge with me, firstly, some of the junior demons might have fallen behind and lost the opportunity for salvation. Secondly, and more importantly, I knew that among these juniors—even including some ancient demons and old demons—many held a very resistant attitude toward Practitioner Su, and I did not want to force them. Thus, I chose a compromise: to bring them to this
Now, I, Mo He, would like to once again issue a solemn call to all the demon crowds on Earth, especially those currently residing in China: come quickly to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre to seek refuge. This is your only path, your only hope for true liberation. If you cannot seize this rare opportunity, who knows when you will ever encounter another Practitioner Su who is capable of sending spirits to be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss? Who knows when a second Western Land of Dharma Nature will ever appear again? Think about it—this is a once-in-an-eon chance.
A Rational Perspective on Salvation
Therefore, you must all cherish this and view Practitioner Su’s Chao Du for the Demon Realm with a rational and clear mind. You must understand that the Buddha is always here to save beings; even we, the demon crowds, are objects of the Buddha’s boundless compassion and salvation. Do not let pride or past grudges cloud your judgement. The Buddha’s heart is vast enough to embrace even the darkest of spirits.
The Path to Inconceivable Rewards
Alright, I, Mo He, have truly spoken quite a lot this time. However, in order to help the Buddha come to the forefront and to save the world, it is all worth it. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to be interviewed and to share my testimony. Now, I must return to my practice, keeping this precious 'Namo Amituofo' firmly in my heart. I am certain that it will bring inconceivable rewards that go beyond anything I have ever known.
I am eternally grateful for the compassion of the Buddha, and I am eternally grateful for the compassion of Practitioner Su.
Namo Amituofo.
Mo He
