The Celestial Reflection of Collective
Since ancient times, humanity has looked to the heavens to understand the climate and the shifting fortunes of the land. However, there is a deeper truth to these observations. The sky is not merely a physical space; it is a profound reflection of the collective karma of all beings. At Hsiang Kuang: A Sacred Sanctuary, the celestial phenomena are ever-changing, and the boundaries between the realms of Goodness, the Buddha, and the demon crowds are clearly defined. By observing the heavens, one can perceive the deeper meanings manifesting within the atmosphere.
The Radiance of a Peaceful Mind
When the sky is bright and clear, painted in shades of azure with soft white clouds drifting by, it signifies a state of profound peace among the beings dwelling within the clouds. Their hearts are calm and settled, free from the turbulence of agitation. In such moments, we know that the Buddha’s teachings have successfully entered their hearts. These beings dwelling within the clouds receive the benefits of the and are able to undergo , finding their way to rebirth in the of Ultimate Bliss.
This clarity also reflects the abundance of for the local community. Because the beings dwelling within the clouds are able to hear the Buddha’s teachings, the spirits in the local area and those in the heavenly realms are similarly blessed. They are all granted the precious opportunity to be saved by the Buddha-light and attain rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
The Struggle Against Darkness
Conversely, when the sky darkens and heavy, ominous clouds gather to shroud the heavens, it is a sign that the beings dwelling within the clouds are being pressured by the demon crowds. Because the Buddha’s teachings are still active and circulating in this world, these dark forces attempt to create obstacles. However, they ultimately fail in their endeavours. Instead of succeeding, they find themselves subdued by the power of the Dharma. Eventually, the clouds disperse, and the light returns, serving as a testament that the Buddha’s teachings continue to operate within this world.
- Wherever the Buddha travels, we must follow.Wherever demonic forces manifest, we must go to meet them.By subduing these forces in the present moment, the darkness is transformed into light.
The Heart as the Ultimate Sky
The brightness or darkness of the sky is also a mirror for the human heart. When the heart is dark, it is because the stains of attachment are heavy. If one receives the illumination of the Buddha-light and undergoes purification, it is a sign that the Buddha and the Buddha’s teachings are capable of saving that individual. When the heart is bright, it indicates that the mind is pure and luminous. When the Buddha’s teachings are infused into the heart, and when all beings can continuously accept this guidance, the resulting brightness is a sign that the Buddha’s teachings are truly manifesting in this world.
