The Cosmic Reach of Namo Amituofo
An Interview with Venerable Chang Gao
Insights on Energy and Chao Du
This is a record of an interview with Venerable Chang Gao, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his insights into the nature of energy and spiritual deliverance. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fajing, on January 27, 2023.
Venerable Chang Gao speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am Chang Gao. When one looks out at the vastness of the universe, the Earth appears as nothing more than a tiny, invisible speck. Yet, if you look closely, there is a place that radiates an incredibly brilliant golden light. Among the countless, dense, and infinite stars that fill the cosmos, this place stands out as exceptionally dazzling and luminous. That place is Earth. Even if one cannot perceive the physical form of the planet, one can immediately identify its location by tracing the source of this magnificent golden light.
Practitioner Su, in his boundless , has opened the space of the Earth. Since the very inception of this planet—roughly four point six billion years ago—the amount of space contained within it is nearly impossible to calculate. In truth, four point six billion years is merely the timeframe that humanity has managed to comprehend. Long before that, space already existed. Although the Earth at that time did not resemble the world we know today, the space from that era still remains, waiting for the Causal Conditions to align so that it may be illuminated by the Buddha’s light and receive Chao Du."
Opening the Gates of Space and Time
"Practitioner Su does not merely open the space of the Earth; he extends this grace throughout the entire universe. Any sentient beings on any planet, provided they have the Causal Conditions to perceive this golden light and hear the Buddha-name, can receive salvation. By following this light and chanting the Buddha's name, they can transcend their current space and gain the precious opportunity to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
In the boundless, infinite space of the universe, reality is far more complex than what humanity currently understands. The universe is filled with diverse forms of energy, and various layers of energy exist within it. Correspondingly, there are spirits of different levels residing throughout the cosmos. When I speak of 'different levels,' it is merely a descriptive term; it refers to the varying degrees of spiritual maturity and the different spatial dimensions in which these beings reside. However, regardless of which spatial layer they inhabit, or how vast the disparity in their spiritual development may be, they are all equally capable of being bathed in this golden light. Every single one of them has the opportunity to hear the magnificent six-character Buddha-name and seek rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss."
The Supreme Energy of the Buddha-Name
"Since there are already so many different forms of energy existing within the universe, some might wonder: why are spirits from such diverse spiritual spaces and dimensions willing to follow the golden light energy brought forth by Practitioner Su? It is a natural question to ask.
No matter how high the level of an energy space in the universe may be, or how powerful the energy that exists within it, it absolutely cannot exceed the immense energy brought forth by the single phrase, 'Namo Amituofo.' This is a truth known to all spirits; they can all sense it and understand it. Therefore, regardless of how high a level these spirits have attained, they are all willing to surrender to the Buddha and seek the energy that he provides. That is the truly infinite energy. As long as one’s heart and mind are in sync with the Buddha, this energy is inexhaustible and can be drawn upon without end.
Namo Amituofo."
