The Heart Lamp Within

The Eternal Light Within
Every single being possesses a lamp within their heart. This is not a physical object, but an inherent, spiritual light that resides at the very core of your being. This invisible Heart Lamp radiates a brilliance that knows no bounds. It is capable of illuminating the entire physical world—wishing to be as free as the wind, mountains & rivers—and even extending into the vast realm of emptiness. Its light is truly incomparable in its purity and reach.
The Obscuring Smoke of Confusion
However, because we are often lost in the fog of confusion, we engage in various forms of negative and unwholesome deeds. These actions act like layers of thick, dark smoke that rise up to cover the Heart Lamp. As these layers accumulate, the light that can shine through becomes increasingly faint, and the brilliance of our true nature appears dim. It is vital to understand that this does not mean the light itself has weakened. The Heart Lamp is eternal; its light is never extinguished. It is simply that the light is being blocked by the dark smoke of our own making, until, eventually, we may find ourselves unable to see the light at all.
The Unmoved Nature of the Heart
Despite this, the Heart Lamp remains unmoved. It exists within every being, completely unaffected by the external conditions of our lives. Regardless of the time or era in which you live, the location where you find yourself, the specific challenges or events you encounter, or the physical form or appearance you currently inhabit, these external changes and states of existence have no power to alter the Heart Lamp. It remains constant, pure, and perfect, possessing infinite Wisdom, virtue, and auspicious characteristics.
The Path of Purification
The process of spiritual growth is the process of clearing away this smoke. When you reduce your negative karma by even a small fraction, the light of your heart is able to shine through by that same measure. As you continue your diligent practice and remove more of these impurities, the light shines forth with greater clarity. When all pollution is finally removed, the light of your heart will shine through completely, manifesting as the true Buddha-light of your own nature.
Radiating the Buddha-Light
This Buddha-light has the power to pierce through all darkness. As the shadows surrounding you are dispelled, the suffering of all beings naturally begins to dissolve. Your very body becomes transparent and luminous, reflecting the purity of the true self. Therefore, you must strive with diligent practice to rediscover your true nature as soon as possible. Through the work of save the world and helping all beings, your inner light will manifest fully, shining out to illuminate the infinite reaches of the universe.
