If you merely wait, you will find that the days slip away one by one. Time is a river that flows relentlessly, passing by in every fleeting second and minute. If you are waiting for a result to manifest without putting in the effort, it is far better to rise and take action. Do not let a single moment pass by in vain.
If you can maintain the chanting of , ensuring that your thoughts never depart from the Buddha, you are truly living a life of purpose. When you have the Buddha in your heart, in your actions, and in your ears, you are ensuring that your time is not wasted.
If you are waiting to reach an awakened being, you must engage in actual, practical work. In this world, there is no such thing as gaining something for nothing. If you fail to put in the work from within your own heart, if you fail to change your personality traits, if you fail to practise diligently, and if you fail to chant the name of Namo Amituofo, then even if you possess everything in the world, it will eventually come to an end.
Once this physical body decays, where will your spirit go? You must not allow yourself to be tainted by fame and fortune. If you become consumed by these worldly desires, you are merely creating .
If you can truly put in the work from within your heart, you will find the path forward. This involves a series of practical steps:
