Amitabha Buddha's discourse:
The importance of ,
Beings of obtain this body due to the ripening of Causal Conditions with their parents.
Because of this body,
they unfold their lives in the world, engaging in the collection and repayment of debts, and the repaying of kindness and grievances within their karma.
Amidst the intertwining of the cause and effect (Karma) of good and evil,
they spend this life through birth, aging, sickness, death.
Because of this false body, one can engage in True Cultivation.
In the process of purification,
it tests whether the practitioner can "see through" and "let go", letting go of ego-attachment, self-views, and the body itself,
severing greed, anger, delusion, arrogance, and doubt, and letting go of wealth, lust, fame, food, and sleep.
With this body, one has the opportunity to practise, transform karma, and realise one's true nature;
without this body, the spirit drifts without support, unable to have the opportunity to learn the Buddha’s teachings and be saved,
or perhaps living a calm, stable, and peaceful life in the spiritual realms,
without the need for practice or the motivation for diligent practice.
Hearing the Buddha’s teachings is not an easy matter;
being able to encounter Amitabha Buddha with a human body is a hardship among hardships, none greater than this,
and it is drawn by a deep affinity with Amitabha.
Because of this body,
one has the opportunity to practise, transform karma, realise one's true nature and attain Buddhahood, be reborn in the of Ultimate Bliss, end the cycle of birth and death, transcend the three realms, and escape reincarnation.
Having a body is an important matter for practice in this life.
If one's breath stops and one loses the human body, yet one has not transformed karma, not realised one's true nature, the chanting of the Buddha’s name is not effective, and the Buddha’s path has not been attained,
then one loses the opportunity for rebirth in the Western Pure Land in this life,
and must wait for a future life to again obtain a human body, learn the Buddha’s teachings, practise, and enter the Pure Land,
and have the opportunity to chant the Buddha’s name, make vows, and be reborn in the Western Pure Land?
If this body is a universe, the countless cells within the body all possess spirits,
and together with the beings within our bodies, they become the countless beings in the universe.
If the true self within the body is saved and enters the Western Land, it will no longer enter reincarnation,
and the countless beings within the body, through shared practice and influence,
will also receive the benefits of the Dharma, chant Namo Amituofo together, be illuminated by the Buddha-light, and enter the Western Land together,
which is a magnificent matter.
May the fourfold assembly of Fragrant Light be able to achieve this, that this may be the final life, and that you may attain liberation.
If one realises the and one's true nature, one can freely travel back and forth to the Western Land,
and save countless beings to enter the Western Land.
This body is important for the purpose of realising one's true nature, saving the world, and saving beings.
One is oneself one of the beings, and one is the first to be saved.
One should make use of the body's usefulness,
and let go of the , , , , delusions, discriminations, and attachments brought about by the body,
all of which are obstacles to practice.
To let go of all obstacles is to be a wise person.
A wise person uses the body and is not used by the body, no longer falling into becoming a being of karma.
By "arouse the mind and single-mindedly recite Namo Amituofo",
by "chant one Buddha's name to the end",
and in "I am a Buddha",
follow the Buddha’s actions, save countless suffering beings, and be the first to be saved along with the beings within your body.
