The Vital Importance of Lifelong Education

From the very moment of birth until the twilight of one's life at one hundred years, the experiences we gather are of immense significance. Education is the foundation of this journey. Throughout every stage of our existence, from infancy to old age, education is an indispensable activity. It is the process of guiding all humanity, and it is of the utmost importance. We must employ the correct methods, for this is an action that requires our constant attention and full support. Within the realm of education, we must provide unwavering dedication.

For a significant period in my life, I devoted myself to the task of educating humanity. I invested much of my heart, soul, and financial resources into this cause, driven by the hope of providing all people with a wholesome educational environment. This opportunity for education was born from the wisdom of the Buddha’s teachings. I realised that the traditional, old-fashioned methods of teaching and the conventional norms of upbringing were no longer suitable for the modern era. With the rapid evolution of technology, multimedia, and entertainment, the environment has changed drastically. How could the new generation of young people be expected to engage with Buddhist education if we remained stagnant?

This realisation propelled me forward. I underwent extensive training in new technologies to develop a modern approach. It is time for traditional models to align with the modern world. To effectively lead sentient beings, we must adapt to the times and respond to the needs of the people; only then can we truly spread the .

Bridging the Gap for the New Generation

Why do so many young people today find traditional Dharma talks unappealing? It is because these methods fail to capture the attention of those living in a high-tech society. If our own thinking remains traditional and closed, how can we expect the vibrant, fast-paced minds of the younger generation to choose this path? The Buddha’s teachings must be innovative. We must use the right methods to encourage children to learn and participate. Only in this way can the Dharma be passed down and the next generation of talent be cultivated.

This is a matter of great urgency, and I have dedicated much of my spirit to this endeavour. Why is education so vital? When we observe the young people of today, we see a multitude of changing thoughts and emotions. Their minds are often immature and lack a sense of stability. They are like empty sponges, desperately seeking something to fill the void within. If they are not taught the correct way to seek fulfilment, they may become addicted to the internet, consumerism, or gaming. They may be drawn into online media that exposes them to harmful habits such as smoking, drinking, or drug use. These are outcomes we do not wish to see, yet they appear with alarming frequency in modern society.

There is an ancient saying: "At the beginning of life, human nature is inherently good." No one is born knowing these harmful behaviours. Where do they come from? They are learned. Because there is no proper education, young people choose to learn these behaviours from the media, the internet, or other negative influences. This has impacted the lives of countless young people. How precious is a human life? I believe that those who practise the Buddha’s teachings understand this truth deeply—human life is precious, and a human body is difficult to obtain. Yet, in the world of the youth, no one teaches them this. Not only are they unaware, but they may even reject such ideas. There are far too many opportunities to learn negative conduct, which highlights the failure of our current educational systems. Traditional Buddhism has lost its power; in the modern age, we must transmit the Dharma in ways that are suitable for the present.

The Core of Human Education

The Buddha’s teachings should not be viewed merely as a religion; they are the core of education for all humanity. They allow people to preserve their inherent goodness, preventing them from going astray or learning bad habits. Furthermore, as Practitioner Su advocates, we must focus on developing our original nature. This capacity can save lives and holds profound significance. I identify strongly with this approach. I believe that life possesses infinite potential that can be developed; if one knows how to use the right methods, life can be lived with immense value. Seeing the Buddhist education promoted by Practitioner Su moves me deeply. This is where the hope for the Dharma lies. It is not that the Buddhism of the past was flawed, but rather that it has become ineffective in the modern world. If no one is willing to learn or listen, then even the most profound teachings cannot reach sentient beings. Spreading the Dharma cannot be rigid. As the saying goes, one must not be narrow-minded. The Dharma is not meant to be used in confusion; it must be applied flexibly, teaching according to the individual's capacity and adapting to the needs of all beings.

A Journey Beyond the Physical Realm

I am profoundly grateful to the Buddha for allowing me to encounter the Dharma in this life and for providing such an excellent environment for study. I am especially thankful for the good causal conditions that allowed me to believe in the Buddha. My family has always been supportive of my path, and our household has been blessed with the fortune to believe in and protect the Dharma. This has had a tremendous influence on me, ensuring that I never strayed from the path throughout my life. My husband and children have joined me in this work, and for this, I am eternally grateful. I have taught my children that as long as the Dharma is being spread, we all share a responsibility. We are able to reach the of Ultimate Bliss because of the education provided by the Dharma, and everyone has a duty to propagate it. This is not superstition; there are far too many beings who need the guidance of the Truth. True, orthodox Buddhist education provides the light of the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way to guide life. This is the reality. The Dharma is like a beacon in life, guiding us toward the right path.

I am deeply thankful that there exists a place of orthodox practice in this world that continues to provide Buddhist education and insists on the importance of education for all humanity. I have always supported this great cause. When Practitioner Su asked me to speak, my heart was filled with words. I was moved, knowing this is a once-in-a-thousand-years opportunity. How could someone who has reached the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss return to speak? Yet, this is the truth. I am truly Han Ying.

The Reality of the Six Realms

First, I must express my gratitude to Practitioner Su. Everyone believed I had already reached the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, but only Practitioner Su and the venerable ones here knew that I had not yet arrived! This is a truly shocking revelation. The cycle of rebirth in the six realms is inconceivable. If one does not reach the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss and falls into the cycle of rebirth, how terrifying that is! People wondered where I had gone, but no one in the world knew. Once life ends and the spirit leaves , who can truly be certain of what follows? I want to tell everyone: do not slander the Buddha’s teachings. If you have the chance to see what I am saying now, please take the time to investigate it for yourself before deciding whether to believe. Do not spread hearsay. If one slanders the true Dharma or spreads false information, the karmic consequences are unbearable.

At that time, I was in a state of confusion. I was still busy managing my affairs and promoting education, completely immersed in that space. It was a voice that awakened me: "Director Han, Director Han, Han Ying! Please come here!" I turned around and asked, "Who is calling me?" As I turned, I arrived here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, which was known as the Fragrant Light Chamber some years ago. I was brought to a place called the "Fragrant Light Dharma-Nature Land." There were many lotus seats there, and one had my name on it. I began to practise there, listening to the sutras for many days, until one day I was led by Practitioner Su to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. I am truly in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss now, but my lotus grade is not high because I was brought in by Practitioner Su, not through my own power. Is this not inconceivable? It is indeed truly inconceivable.

The True Path of Practice

Under the leadership of Practitioner Su, the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre has developed remarkably. The attainments here are beyond imagination; this is the true transmission of the Dharma, the authentic Buddhism, and the true Buddhist education. In the world today, it is rare to find such orthodox Buddhist education that teaches one to develop the potential of their true nature. Many do not know how to reclaim their own abilities; they only wish to rely on others or find a place of comfort, unaware that their lives can be fully realised. This is a great pity! Fortunately, Practitioner Su is actively promoting the orthodox Dharma in this world. The venerable ones and lay practitioners led by Practitioner Su engage in daily retreats, eating and sleeping together. Everyone understands the importance of the true nature and the necessity of adjusting one's practice from the root. This is true practice—honest, grounded, and focused on the root of one's character.

There is no other place in the world like this, where one is taught to reclaim their true nature and adjust their character from the root. True practice requires addressing personal issues such as personality, emotions, and habits. It is not enough to simply recite the sutras, perform prostrations, or give lectures. If one's true nature is not yet perfect, one cannot claim to have achieved the goal of practice. Seeing the practitioners here, I, Han Ying, feel humbled. Although I made great vows throughout my life, after seeing the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, I realised that the education I promoted was not ultimate. I did not have the ability to go to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss on my own, and in the end, I passed away due to illness. I had not exhausted my karmic debts, and I followed the path of my . It is a great pity! If I had known of this place earlier, I would have supported it with all my might.

A Message to My Loved Ones

My children, Gui Min and Gui Yu, have achieved some success in the world, but their ability in the supramundane realm is zero. I hope they will come here to see for themselves, to understand another side of the Buddha’s teachings. Do not hold onto subjective views; come and see if I am here. I see from the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss how you treat your teacher. Do not have your own interpretations of the Dharma; your attitude toward spreading the Dharma must be correct. Otherwise, I see that you are suffering. Do not create the karma of hell; repent to the Buddha quickly and turn back in this life! Come here, and there is still a chance to change. I fully identify with the practice of Practitioner Su. Come here to practise with Practitioner Su and support the Buddhist education promoted here. This is what I wish to say to you; you must believe that this is all true.

The Dharma is vast, and the Truth is unfathomable. I am truly grateful for the Buddha’s that allowed me to encounter this place. What I see here is truly inconceivable—a path that is difficult to believe. Those in the world who do not know will not believe it, but I still want to tell everyone that this is absolutely true. I hope you have the blessings to encounter this place and that you cherish it, for this is the only gate to liberation.

The Inconceivable Work of Practitioner Su

Practitioner Su leads many ancestral masters and venerable ones in walking meditation, orbiting the Earth. This is something people cannot imagine. Practitioner Su is an awakened being. In the void, everyone respectfully calls him "Buddha Su." The performed by the of Buddha Su truly saves infinite suffering beings. While practitioners in the world are still studying the sutras, Practitioner Su is already standing in the void, seizing every second to actively perform Chao Du. He contemplates every space and every moment, all the layers of change, and the infinite sentient beings in the invisible world. Practitioner Su actively saves them one by one. This is unimaginable to most, but Practitioner Su truly acts in this way, never stopping for a single day. The philosophy of Practitioner Su is very suitable for people to learn: "As long as you have a breath left, you must do your best to contribute." Otherwise, what is the purpose of living? If living is just waiting for death, it is better not to waste social resources and return to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss early, where you do not have to suffer. Do you think the cycle of rebirth is fun? Awaken early and be clear-headed!

Seeing Practitioner Su here has taught me so much. It turns out that practice can be so advanced—enjoying everything in the void, seeing that the world is empty and not real, and knowing that one does not need to be attached to this world. One must know how to depart at any moment. Nothing in this world should be clung to, for attachment is the beginning of obstruction. I am so grateful to be able to learn here. I have re-understood many truths, and I repent for the parts of my past that were not done correctly. Now, I hope to correct all of this. I hope everyone can come here to find me. I, Director Han, Han Ying, am right here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, waiting for you to come and see me.

The Call to Return

There are too many inconceivable things in this world. Do not be too stubborn or attached; know how to be flexible and follow the right conditions so that you do not cause yourself harm. Now, I follow Practitioner Su every day in chanting the name of Namo Amituofo and performing Chao Du. Although I do not have the same attainment as Practitioner Su, I will do my best to sincerely help sentient beings depart and hope they can be liberated from life and death. Several times, under the blessings of the Buddha, I have seen the majestic form of Namo Amituofo standing at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, reaching out to lead beings away from suffering. My at that moment were truly beyond words; I was so moved! It is hard to describe my feelings at that time. My own sentient beings were also led away by the Buddha’s light. The Buddha is so compassionate! He truly abides at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Do not disbelieve; there is true Dharma here. I hope you will not be obstructed by your own minds!

To my teacher, whom I respected all my life, Venerable Master Chin Kung: the causal conditions of that time allowed me the opportunity to support your propagation of the Dharma. We began our path of spreading the Dharma in Jingmei, and I truly cherished those days. It is a great pity that after I fell ill and passed away, that connection could not continue. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to support the Dharma and to support you in this life; I was very joyful. The suffering you endured on the path of spreading the Dharma and your dedication to the Buddha’s teachings are things I deeply admire. I am very grateful for the teachings you gave me. I also did my best to make the library perfect, so that the Dharma could have a better opportunity to be spread and so that those who wish to learn could have a place for quiet retreats. Looking back, it feels as if it were just yesterday. Time passes so quickly; in the blink of an eye, I have been gone for so many years. I felt very sad about the unpleasant events that occurred after I left. I hope these can still be remedied. Master, I am able to be here now because Practitioner Su helped me. You must believe this; this place can truly lead spirits to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. From the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, I see your physical condition, and I am very worried. I hope you will come here; the Buddha-light can heal your body. The Buddha is here; you must come here to witness the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss together. In the past, when you gave lectures, you often said this was a path difficult to believe and that it required great blessings and causal conditions. I believe that after lecturing for so many years, you must have great merit and blessings. Han Ying is waiting for you here. The spreading of the Dharma still requires your support.

With endless gratitude and thanks, I have this opportunity today only because of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. I hope everyone can come here to see the Buddha and support the cause of the Dharma. My heart is moved. Thank you, Practitioner Su. Namo Amituofo.

Han Ying bows, with palms joined in gratitude.

Namo Amituofo.

Ashamed disciple of the Buddha, Han Ying.
