The Parched Earth and the Longing of All Beings

The world is currently enduring a time of great dryness, where the earth is parched and cracked, and all living creatures suffer under the heavy weight of this severe drought. It is a time of profound thirst, where every living thing—from the smallest blade of grass to the most complex of sentient beings—yearns for the life-giving rain to descend and soothe their weary bodies and spirits. This physical thirst is but a mirror of the deeper, spiritual thirst that plagues the world.

When beings find themselves powerless to resolve their own suffering, they look toward the heavens in desperation, seeking relief from the relentless heat and barrenness. We offer our sincere prayers that the heavens will look down with boundless upon the pain of all living beings, bringing forth the gentle, life-sustaining rain that they so desperately need to survive and flourish once more.

The Karmic Roots of Our Shared Environment

In this world, we are all subject to the immutable laws of and the causes and effects. The current drought is not merely a random occurrence of nature; it is a manifestation of our Collective , which has effectively severed the source of water for the land. We are reaping the fruits of the seeds we have sown in the past, and now, this karma has taken control of our circumstances, leaving us to bear the heavy burden of this suffering.

It is a difficult and testing time for all, yet it serves as a profound reminder of our deep interconnectedness. When we suffer, we are not suffering alone; we are experiencing the ripples of our shared actions. This period of hardship is a call to look inward, to recognise the state of our own hearts, and to understand that the external environment is a reflection of the internal state of our collective .

Cherishing the Flow of

When we have water, we must always remember the times when we did not. True wisdom lies in the ability to cherish our blessings while they are present, for only by practising gratitude and can we ensure that the flow of abundance remains long and steady. We must learn to value every drop of resource we are granted, for the loss of such abundance is often a reflection of our own lack of appreciation and our failure to live in harmony with the Truth.

By practising gratitude, we begin to shift the energy of our environment. When we cherish what we have, we cultivate a heart of contentment, which in turn creates a more harmonious atmosphere. This is the first step in transforming the barrenness of our lives into a garden of peace and prosperity.

The Nectar of Within the Heart

Just as heaven sends down sweet nectar to save living creatures from the brink of death, the Dharma acts as a cooling, refreshing water to nourish our impoverished hearts. The Dragon and Heaven Dharma Protectors are working diligently within this Buddha-land, and we hold the sincere hope that the suffering caused by the lack of water will soon be resolved through their compassionate intervention.

However, the true Nectar of Dharma Water must be cultivated within your own heart. It is this inner nectar—the wisdom of the Dharma—that can resolve all suffering and transform every difficulty you encounter into a path of liberation. When your heart is pure, compassionate, and perfectly aligned with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, you will find that the external world begins to reflect that inner peace. May all beings find this inner spring, and may all suffering be washed away by the cooling waters of the Dharma. Recorded by the Buddha's disciple, Venerable HaiZe.
