The Courage to Move Forward

Namo Amituofo teaches us that we must move forward with courage and without fear. When your vows and your strength are fully aligned with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, you are working to save all beings and rescue those who suffer. In this noble endeavour, Namo Amituofo will always be by your side, protecting and assisting you. When a vow is truly awakened, it becomes an invaluable force. If you move forward with a straight heart, your vow will surely be fulfilled.

The Engine of Your Vows

As a practitioner, you have obtained this precious human body. Think of this life as a vehicle. Without a sincere vow, you are like a car that has a body but no fuel; you may have the structure, but you have no power to move forward. Once you make a vow, it is as if you have filled the tank with fuel. You gain the driving force necessary to move directly toward your goal, following the direction of your vow.

As you proceed on this journey, it is vital to understand that your own efforts must be combined with the of the Buddha. This combination of and is the key to your success.

The Crucible of Purification

Within the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre, we must be diligent in our conduct. If you make a mistake, you must correct it immediately. Do not violate the rules of the temple, and if you have done so, please rectify your actions without delay. Those who can correct their mistakes will be able to face the tests of various environments without fear. Through these tests, you will achieve purification. Consider this process carefully:

  • When you encounter a test, you will see your own shortcomings.By correcting your mistakes, you undergo a process of purification.Once you pass one test, you will be purified further, preparing you for the next challenge.

This cycle of testing, correcting, and purifying is the very essence of your practice. It is the process of moving from confusion to . If you fail to correct your mistakes, it indicates that you are facing obstacles and barriers that you have not yet overcome. You may be drifting with the tide of external circumstances, and in such a state, your practice will either remain stagnant or begin to regress.

Walking with the Buddha

True fearlessness arises from within the heart. It is born from your faith in Namo Amituofo and your faith in your own potential. The students of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre are fortunate to have the support of Namo Amituofo, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, and Practitioner Su. You should have greater confidence in yourselves. As long as you exert your own efforts, you will receive the assistance of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. This gives you the greatest opportunity to reach a state of pure goodness and realise your true nature.

You should cherish this life and this time at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Be fiercely diligent, move forward without fear, and realise your true nature to attain Buddhahood. In doing so, you will walk alongside the Buddha in the great work of saving the world and rescuing all suffering beings.
