Teachings from Namo Amituofo, recorded and transcribed by Namo Amituofo’s disciple, Venerable HaiZe, on the twenty-eighth of September, 2025.

Namo Amituofo offers these teachings on the nature of compliance. To be compliant is to possess the ability to follow the flow of Causal Conditions with a yielding heart. It is not a passive state, but a profound spiritual discipline.

The Grace of a Yielding Heart

True compliance is defined by the following principles: non-harming, ensuring that your actions never cause suffering to other beings; purity of intent, remaining free from the influence of the —greed, anger, ignorance, arrogance, and doubt—and the ; and adherence to the Right Way, ensuring that your conduct remains aligned with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.

When you are able to maintain this state of compliance, you do not allow your mind to be stirred by every thought and intention. Instead, you remain calm, allowing yourself to adapt to the needs of the people, events, and environments around you.

Harmony and the Prevention of

By practising this form of compliance, you protect yourself from the cycle of suffering. Because you do not create new negative causes, you do not attract or attached spirits. You prevent yourself from falling into an environment where you are forced to seek revenge and repay grievances, and you stop the heavy weight of your past karma from manifesting in your present life.

Compliance allows you to move gracefully with the changes in the world and the shifting of Causal Conditions. You do not crave more than you need, nor do you allow your heart to be tossed by the waves of emotion. Through these appropriate adjustments, you help bring balance and harmony to the people and situations you encounter.

The Harmony of Shared Endeavour

The precious nature of compliance is most clearly seen in how you perform your duties and tasks within the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. When you serve, you must embody the qualities of , letting go of your ego and personal attachments; selflessness, acting for the benefit of the whole rather than for personal gain; and mutual respect, embracing and honouring the contributions of others.

When you work in this way, you do not give rise to anger, nor do you engage in conflict with others. You allow tasks to be completed smoothly through harmonious cooperation. If you can achieve this, you are effectively elevating your spiritual quality.

The Wisdom Behind the Yielding Heart

It is important to understand that compliance is not about having no opinion or being blindly led by others. Rather, it is a manifestation of your , your Wisdom, and your vast mind-capacity. The value of compliance lies in your ability to maintain Discipline, cultivate meditative concentration, and develop Wisdom. By doing so, you avoid breaking the and prevent your heart from being disturbed by the delusions of the mind.

The Path to

In the pure environment of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, compliance acts as a powerful aid to your diligent practice. It helps you achieve purification, ensuring that you remain untainted by the defilements of the world. This steady progress allows you to fully realise the Six Perfections, leading you toward the ultimate goal of Awakening. May you always walk this path with a heart that is open, yielding, and pure.
