The Power of a Righteous Mind

Words of Namo Amituofo, recorded and transcribed by Namo Amituofo’s disciple, Venerable Fa Hui. May 4, 2025.

Namo Amituofo’s discourse: When you encounter any test in your spiritual practice, it is vital to maintain firm faith. By believing in Namo Amituofo and chanting Namo Amituofo, you align yourself with the Truth. If you consciously transform every thought and intention to look at things positively, think positively, and speak positively, you will significantly enhance your positive energy and the resilience of your cells. Even when your seek revenge and repay grievances, they are countered by this positive energy, which can weaken the momentum of your , causing it to recede and providing you with the opportunity to dissolve and transform your karma.

The Weight of Negative Intentions

If you fail to believe in Namo Amituofo or chant Namo Amituofo, and every thought and intention becomes negative, not only will you constantly see the worst, think negatively, and speak negatively, but you will also harbour selfish and evil thoughts rather than Goodness. Before the laws of karma and cause and effect can even manifest, the force of these negative thoughts will cause your resolve to weaken and your faith to diminish. In this state, you become vulnerable, and when your karmic creditors manifest, you will suffer.

The Path of Sincere Repentance

If you are suffering due to old age, illness, or the manifestation of karmic creditors, but can follow Namo Amituofo and engage in diligent practice with unwavering perseverance, you will succeed. Your vow to achieve spiritual success in your practice—to save yourself and then save beings—is a powerful force. When you have truly repented and changed your ways, vowing never to repeat your mistakes, your vow, diligent practice, perseverance, and sincere repentance will move your karmic creditors to step back, provided you continue your practice. If you can dissolve and transform your karma and reach , you have achieved spiritual success in your practice.

Transcending the Illusion

If you purify this body of through practice and understand that all worldly affairs are illusions, existing within the cycle of Causal Conditions, you will give rise to all and achieve the fruit of . If you can accept any test with a peaceful heart, then karma will have no opportunity to manifest, and there will be no need for karma to recede. Successfully passing through a test is the moment of transforming your karma. Namo Amituofo. Cherish your time.
