The Secret of the Fifty Trillion Cells
An Interview with the Spirit Changgao

This is a record of an interview with the spirit Changgao, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. Changgao now resides in the Four Sacred Realms, having attained this state through aeons of practice and the compassionate guidance of Practitioner Su. This account was recorded by the disciple Venerable HaiZe on April 26, 2019.
Changgao speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am Changgao. I exist now as a spirit without a physical form, yet my journey to this point has been long and arduous. Through the accumulated actions of my past lives—both good and evil—and through my dedicated practice, I have been fortunate enough to reach the Four Sacred Realms. It is a great honour to be part of Practitioner Su's deliverance team, helping other spirits find their way to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss."
The Cycle of Samsara and the Burden of Habit
"I have travelled through every one of the six realms of existence. Sometimes I possessed a physical body, and at other times, I was formless. Whenever my emotions—my , anger, sorrow, and happiness—and my deep-seated personality traits and habits manifested, I inevitably created a great deal of . I knew I had to repent. I relied on my own practice to change my personality and subdue those stubborn habits. In the cycle of rebirth, whenever my were sufficient, I would regain a human body. But if those old habits resurfaced, I would create more karma, suffer the consequences, and then have to repent and start the process of subduing them all over again. This went on for countless lifetimes. It was a very, very long time before I finally smoothed out those jagged edges of my personality. Only then could my practice proceed without obstruction, allowing me to move forward step by step."
When Cells Take Control
"Recently, while listening to Practitioner Su deliver a talk, he mentioned the concept of 'cells as master.' It came as a profound shock to me! As I listened closely to his analysis, combined with the compassionate teachings of Namo Amituofo, I finally understood the truth: our cells, our personality traits, our habits, and the karmic force of our creditors are all one and the same. Whenever my personality traits or habits manifest, it is my cells that are taking control. In other words, it is my habits and the karmic force of my creditors that are acting as the master of my body.
Therefore, my personality, my habits, my , and my cells are all one entity. When I allow them to take the lead, I am no longer the 'true me.' I have been transformed; I have become nothing more than a vessel for my own cells and my karmic creditors. It is a terrifying realisation."
A Terrifying Reality
"For a long time, I laboured under the delusion that I was always in control of myself. No wonder it is so difficult to change one's personality! When your karmic creditors are demanding repayment, they make you suffer and create even more karma. How could it be possible, once you have allowed them to take the master's seat, to remain clear-headed and alert? How could you possibly change your habits, accumulate merit and virtue, or even engage in diligent practice to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss? It is truly a terrifying state of affairs!
Long ago, when I was still plagued by these personality traits and habits, I truly suffered to the very limit. Although I eventually changed and finally tasted the sweetness that follows bitterness, it was only through that transformation that I could escape the cycle of rebirth and ascend through the Four Sacred Realms. Now, I must ensure that I do not allow even the slightest, most microscopic thought to arise, for only then can I maintain the state of the Dharma Realm."
The Wisdom of Practitioner Su
"Today, Practitioner Su has unlocked the mystery of how our human cells act as our master. I am in awe of his profound Wisdom, which has resolved a question that has remained unanswered since ancient times. This teaching can help so many people achieve . For practitioners in particular, it can prevent them from wandering down the wrong path and wasting time creating karma through their body, speech, and mind. If they can truly understand this principle—that they must not let their cells and karmic creditors take control—they will realise that the only way forward is to change their personality traits and habits!
This is such a direct and powerful truth; it strikes with surgical precision. The fourfold assembly of disciples at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is truly blessed to have Practitioner Su here to help resolve our doubts and reveal the secrets of our fifty trillion cells. As long as you truly change your personality and habits, your practice will take a giant leap forward, bringing you ever closer to realising your true nature. I am truly happy for everyone here.
Everyone must truly change, truly practise with diligence, and truly act upon these teachings. Only then will you not let down the painstaking efforts and compassionate guidance of Practitioner Su! Namo Amituofo."
