The Source of All Existence
Words of Namo Amituofo
Delivered on 12 December 2020 during the Thrice Yearning Ceremony
The Origin of All Existence
The Source is the fundamental beginning of all laws of the world, all phenomena, and all principles. You may find yourself contemplating whether it is necessary to investigate this ultimate origin. In truth, whether you choose to seek the ultimate or not, the result remains the same. This is because the nature of the ultimate is emptiness, and the nature of the unexamined is also emptiness. When you look deeply into the essence of existence, you will find that all dharmas are mind-only. The heart is the true source from which all things arise.
The Heart as the Master
This physical body of yours encompasses all laws of the world, phenomena, and principles. The Universal Principles operate within you at every moment. If you align your life with the true heart, your path will be clear and unobstructed. However, if you act in opposition to your heart, you will inevitably encounter obstacles and confusion. The Master of your life is the heart itself. Everything originates from the heart, and everything concludes in the heart.
The Path to Ultimate Emptiness
When you reach the state where the heart is empty—free from the attachments of the ego and the delusions of the world—that is the ultimate realization. To return to this state of purity is to return to the Source. By chanting Namo Amituofo, you are constantly returning to this heart, purifying your mind, and aligning yourself with the Truth. May you find the strength to let go of all that is not the heart, and in doing so, find the peace that is your original nature.
These Words of Namo Amituofo were recorded by the Buddha's disciple, Venerable HaiZe.
