The compassion and wisdom of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas operate in perfect harmony. Their heart, their vows, and their actions to save beings remain constant and unwavering. This dedication does not change, regardless of the shifts in time or the transformations of space. They possess a profound understanding that the suffering of beings is deep and that, for many, this suffering has yet to be resolved.
The methods employed by the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to save beings are not rigid. Instead, they adapt according to the hearts of the beings they encounter, as well as the specific circumstances, people, and environments of the time. This is the essence of the saying that they respond according to the capacity of the beings, providing exactly what is needed for their . This ability to adapt is the manifestation of the supreme wisdom possessed by the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and those who have realised their true nature.
When one’s wisdom is fully awakened, one naturally understands what actions are appropriate and what should be avoided. An awakened being can see the truth of reality with absolute clarity. They address problems at their root, ensuring that issues do not escalate, and they work to minimise harm, ultimately resolving situations in a perfect and complete manner. This is the conduct of a wise person.
The heart and actions of a wise person, dedicated to saving beings, remain consistent throughout all time. Whether they are in the past, the present, or the future, and regardless of the people or events they encounter, they are always able to observe the conditions and act accordingly. They provide salvation in the very moment it is needed, allowing beings to be rescued immediately. This is the true skill of saving beings.
The heart, vows, and actions required to save beings arise in accordance with causal conditions and fade when those conditions cease. Within this cycle of cause and effect, if a being is able to be saved in the present moment, they must seize that opportunity without hesitation. One must not allow such a precious moment to pass in vain.
If one allows the opportunity for liberation to slip away, the cycle of suffering will continue unabated. It is impossible to know when another such opportunity for salvation will arise. Therefore, the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas manifest in this world in accordance with these causal conditions, always ready to grasp the moment when beings are ready to be saved.
Throughout history, the Buddhas have demonstrated this commitment through their own manifestations:
Practitioner Su, whose heart, vows, and actions are in perfect sync with Namo Amituofo, has spent over thirty years following the Buddha’s path.
