This is a record of an interview with Peng Aining, a friend of the family of Lay Practitioner Zhang Meichan, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her transition from the cycle of rebirth to the Pure Land. It was recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on May 30, 2025.
Lay Practitioner Peng Aining speaks:
"Father, Mother, it is I, Aining, your daughter. I have already seen , and I have arrived at the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This place is even more beautiful than what is described in the sutras. I have been looking around everywhere, and my heart is filled with such . It has been so long since I have been able to smile this happily; now, my entire being is at peace, and I am completely free from all suffering.
Since arriving in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I have been sitting upon the trees, chanting the name of Namo Amituofo. My whole body feels so cool, so refreshed, and so light. I am smiling with such genuine happiness. Aining wants to tell you that I am doing very well now—better than I have ever been before—and I do not have a single affliction left in my heart."
"I never imagined that I could truly reach the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. My deepest gratitude goes to Namo Amituofo, to Practitioner Su who led me to this Western Land, to the auntie who performed the Chao Du for me, and to everyone who cared for me. It was only through your help that Aining was able to emerge from that dark, suffering space.
When I think back to that time, I still remember the intense pain I felt. Then, a force appeared—a great, brilliant light—that helped me and allowed me to break free from the agony I was trapped in.
I arrived at the space of the Western Land of Nature at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Bathed in the Buddha-light, I became clearer and more awake with every passing moment. Seeing the familiar faces of several elders and Tingjing here, my heart finally settled. I trust them deeply, and I know that because they are here, everything is exactly as it should be."
"Later, I realised that it was Practitioner Su who had helped me. I had heard whispers about Practitioner Su before, but most people spoke of her with criticism, which left me with a poor impression. I never expected that the person who would truly save me would be her. Practitioner Su possesses such immense power to save beings and a heart that never gives up. Everything Practitioner Su does fills me with admiration.
I am not saying these things to speak on behalf of Practitioner Su; rather, as someone who has been helped, I must express my gratitude and speak the truth."
"Having experienced this journey through life and death, Aining has gained many different insights and realisations. When I first faced the decay of my body and the arrival of death, I was filled with fear and anxiety, not knowing what to do. I did not want my family to worry, but that was the honest feeling in my heart. At that time, although I knew of the Buddha, I did not have enough faith, so my heart was in constant turmoil. But one must endure what one must endure. At the very least, I now know that by going through this, I was able to repay some of the debts owed to my .
I want to say: Father, Mother, your precious daughter is sorry. I am sorry for making you worry and for causing you such heartbreak. If I had a choice, Aining would never want to hurt you like this. I know that my departure is a source of deep pain in your hearts. Please forgive your daughter; I am unfilial for not being able to stay by your side. Here, I kowtow to you three times to repay the grace of your upbringing. I hope that once you know I have reached the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, you can let me go and find happiness again."
"In truth, after I left and became a spirit, even while I was in the midst of pain, I could feel you crying because of my absence.
Father, Mother, everything is over now. Aining has truly reached the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss; please, you must believe this. I am doing well, and I hope that you can be well, too. I may have broken your hearts in the past, but now you can be happy for your daughter. It is because of your own goodness that I had the to follow the Buddha. That I could have such good roots in this lifetime to reach the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss is a testament to your kindness.
Please, set your hearts at ease and diligently chant the name of Namo Amituofo. Your daughter will be waiting for you in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss."
"Many people feel regret that I left this world so young, but this was the Causal Condition for my visit to this world, and it was already destined. In this lifetime, having obtained a human body, I came to repay my debts and to become a Buddha. Whatever harm I caused in the past, I had to repay. After arriving in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I realised that I still had many debts to my karmic creditors that I had not yet settled. Yet, even so, the Buddha still led me here, and for that, I am deeply grateful.
Now, the world before my eyes is filled with beauty, and my smile has never left me. I know that my departure shocked many people, but perhaps this was another one of my missions: to truly verify the existence of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.
I know that some will believe what I have written here, and some will not, but that is alright. I have done my best, and I leave the rest to the arrangement of Causal Conditions.
While I was in the space of the Dharma-Nature Land at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, I saw that when my name was mentioned, the elders were all very concerned for me, and my heart found comfort in that. I hope that I can soon be free from all suffering. I can feel your hearts, and I thank you for your concern. I admire you all for having such great blessings to follow the Buddha directly and for being so diligent in your practice; I am truly happy for you. You are all people with such good hearts, and I hope you all achieve spiritual success soon.
And to Tingjing, you are such a wonderful girl. Follow the Buddha well, and your future will surely be extraordinary. Believe in yourself and have confidence. Thank you for your companionship in the past and for the happiness you brought me.
Having said all this, Peng Aining has nothing else to leave behind. I will leave my most sincere smile in this world, so that everyone may know that it was Namo Amituofo who saved Aining, allowing me to no longer be reincarnated in the cycle of samsara.
Aining also hopes that there will be less suffering in this world and more people who will come to have faith in the Buddha.
Gratitude to Namo Amituofo, gratitude to Practitioner Su, gratitude to my Father and Mother, and gratitude to everyone who cared for me. Gratitude for everything.
Peng Aining, kneeling and kowtowing."
