The Harmony of Practice and Duty
Your daily practice is the foundation of your spiritual life. When you complete your daily lessons with diligence and sincerity, you allow the Buddha-light to purify your body and spirit, as well as the spirits of those connected to you. Within the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre, the fourfold assembly must also undertake various duties to ensure the temple operates smoothly. When you are assigned a task, you must perform it with your full heart and effort, ensuring that the work of the Buddha continues without hindrance.

When performing your duties, maintain the intention of serving all beings, which is equivalent to serving the Buddhas themselves. Since every being possesses the Buddha-nature, viewing them as Buddhas is the application of Wisdom. Acting with this perspective is the cultivation of . When you encounter the shortcomings or confusion of others, let compassion arise. Respond with an expansive mind, tolerance, and patience. This is the moment to nurture compassion and Wisdom, and to clear your karmic obstacles. By responding with a heart of compassion, you remove the barriers that prevent your true self from shining through.
The Foundation of Spiritual Merit
Spiritual practice requires the accumulation of merit as a form of sustenance. A family that prioritises Goodness and accumulates merit creates a fertile ground that can help their descendants and ancestors enter the Buddha's path. Those who possess both Blessings and merit have a greater opportunity to achieve success, clearing obstacles, resolving karmic debts, and illuminating the darkness.
By entering the Buddha's gate and diligently seeking the true self, you transform personal connections into Dharma affinity. This enables you to save and perform for parents, teachers, family members, and from past and present lives. By guiding them to chant Namo Amituofo, you help them leave suffering behind and be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
