from the Slumber of Illusion

Namo Amituofo teaches us that if you have not yet realised your true nature, you are still wandering within a dream, unaware of the reality that surrounds you. To be in this state is to be asleep. However, if you have realised your true nature, you are truly awake. Those who have achieved this state of awakening carry a profound responsibility. They lead the fourfold assembly of disciples and all sentient beings who are still lost in the dream, encouraging them to practise diligently and engage in the work of the Buddha.

The Noble Path of Diligent Practice

Every effort we make is directed toward a singular, noble goal. We strive for three main purposes: to deepen our own awakening and maintain this clarity of mind; to ensure our eventual rebirth in the of Ultimate Bliss; and to fulfil our vow to save the world and rescue all suffering beings.

Whether you are practising with fierce diligence in your personal life, serving the community through acts of kindness and generosity, or protecting the , all these actions are forms of Buddha-work within the dream. We perform these deeds to help others wake up from their own illusions, to guide them to leave suffering behind and find happiness in the Western Pure Land, and to bring peace, stability, and stillness to every heart.

A That Transcends All Boundaries

When we speak of this work, we must understand that it transcends the limitations of time and space. It encompasses this world and all others. Our compassion extends to an infinite array of beings: the vast expanse of the galaxy and the emptiness of space; the four saints and the six realms of existence; the mountains, rivers, and the earth itself; all living creatures, from the smallest insects to the most complex life forms; and the microscopic world, including air molecules, water molecules, and the smallest particles of matter.

Furthermore, this work extends to the complex beings residing within our own bodies, including our , attached spirits, and even those who may appear as demons. Every being we encounter—whether seen or unseen, known or unknown—is a recipient of this compassionate Buddha-work. We serve them all with the same heart of equality and love, resolving conflicts, inviting spirits, and performing during the .
