Do Not Underestimate Your True Potential

Every sentient being possesses an inherent true self. This truth clearly reveals that every being is, in essence, a Buddha. Within you lies an infinite potential—a capacity that is truly boundless and inexhaustible, stemming directly from the nature of your own true self.

The Boundless Potential of Your True Nature

People in this world are often aware that human beings possess such latent potential. Through various methods of learning and self-improvement, they hope to develop these abilities and bring them to the surface. However, these profound capabilities are not something to be manufactured; they are already within you. They will naturally manifest once you have purified your body, mind, and spirit, and allowed your inner state to settle into a state of stillness.

The abilities that emerge during this process are often those you have cultivated through diligent practice in your past lives. Therefore, in this present life, when your external environment aligns with these latent strengths, they can easily manifest. It is vital to understand how to use these gifts:

• If you use these abilities for Goodness and the righteous path, and to save the world and help beings, then good fruit will naturally follow.If you use these abilities for evil actions or deviant paths, then you will inevitably create negative karma and reap evil consequences.

The Process of Purification

In the context of the Buddha’s gate, these potentials are simply the inherent capabilities of your true self. For those who have realised their true nature, these innate abilities will naturally manifest. Throughout the long cycle of rebirth, these original powers have been obscured by layers of dust and confusion. It is only through the process of practice and purification that they can be revealed once more.

This is the primary goal for the fourfold assembly of disciples at Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. We are working diligently to:

• Seek and find our true self.Utilise these innate abilities and powers.Save ourselves and help other beings achieve rebirth in the Western Pure Land.End the cycle of birth and death and transcend the three realms of existence.

A Call to Awakening

This goal is not something that is out of reach. As long as you have faith in the Buddha and carry out your Faith, Vows, and Practice with complete dedication, you will succeed. Do not underestimate yourself. You must work to overcome and break through the obstacles presented by your physical body. Each one of you has the potential to be a person who realises their true nature and attains Buddhahood.

However, if you do not practise diligently to remove your impurities and maintain a pure heart, or if you remain deeply attached to the emotions and desires of the mundane world, it will be difficult to achieve this Awakening. My children, you must work hard! It is not easy to obtain this human body, and life flows by with every passing day. I hope that you can continue to break through your limitations, one after another, to rediscover your true self.

By doing so, you will not only save yourself, but you will also be able to save the beings with whom you have karmic affinities and your own family members. This is the ultimate guarantee of achieving rebirth in the Western Pure Land and never falling back into the cycle of rebirth again.
