The Buddha Within
To chant Namo Amituofo with absolute sincerity is worth more than ten thousand pieces of gold or travelling ten thousand miles. You may search everywhere for the Buddha, yet you will not find Him outside. He resides within your own true self. He is always with you, accompanying you at every moment. This is your original, true face.
The Path of Purification
All beings possess this true self, yet they allow it to be covered by layer upon layer of defilement. This is no ordinary time. It is a time for the purification of both your heart and your physical body. Seeing one's true self is a matter right before your eyes. When you look at the world, you should see only Goodness. If you see faults, it means your heart has become stained. You must wash away these stains immediately to regain your clarity. However, if you do not change your personality traits, the stains will remain, and it will be difficult to achieve true purity.
Transforming
Changing your personality traits is a task for the present moment. You must look at every little detail of your life with a positive perspective. It is not that every detail is a mistake; rather, the ability to transform a mistake into a lesson is the manifestation of Wisdom. When you serve the community, do not be calculating. The more you do, the more you gain, and you should do so without any attachment to your own ego or words. Do not let a single moment pass in vain.
