The term "at peace" describes a state of profound safety, stability, and stillness. When we speak of "everything being at peace," we are referring to an inner landscape of the heart that remains entirely free from the turbulent waves of emotional fluctuation. If you can cultivate such a state within your Body-Mind-Spirit, you will naturally embody a sense of harmony and serenity that radiates outward to all those you encounter.
As a practitioner, you must strive to reach this state. It begins with the clarity to see the truth of reality: that all phenomena in this world are occurring within an illusion, constantly arising and passing away. Because you understand this, you will not be easily deluded or disturbed by external circumstances, the inevitable changes in your own body and mind, or the suffering brought about by ageing and illness.
Those who truly see the truth of reality possess a unique strength. Even when their physical body is active and engaged in the world, their heart remains perfectly still, anchored in deep meditative concentration. They are no longer swayed by the interference of the seven emotions and the . They have transcended the limitations of the five aggregates—, , , , and the physical form—and have entered into the emptiness of true nature.
This level of skill is not something that can be attained by chance or wishful thinking. It requires you to be fiercely diligent in your practice. You must put in the necessary effort to refine your heart and mind, for such peace is the fruit of persistent, dedicated cultivation.
Everything is at peace when you embody the qualities of freedom, , and wisdom. When you witness the suffering of other beings, your heart does not become agitated; instead, from this state of peace, wisdom naturally arises, allowing you to effectively counteract the problems and afflictions that others face. The six-character name, "," is the supreme method for stabilising your Body-Mind-Spirit. You should chant Namo Amituofo 24/7, keeping your focus steady and direct.
